Katie: Greetings readers! My name is Katie, and I will be your instructor. Uhhh there are certain things you must understand in this story, and I'm gonna be the one explaining it to you!
Galatea: The same goes for me as well, my name is Galatea, nice to meet you… I guess. I actually don't wanna be here with this idiot.
Katie: First off, we would like to explain how magic and worldviews work in this world, so I will give you an introduction with this image

Galatea: What you see in front of you is how every race and creature inside Reincarnated Commoner functions.
Katie: By that, she also means how they look on the inside.
Galatea: It's simple to understand. The Human body is the shell, and the blue orb inside the body is the soul, or spiritual body if you wanna call it that.
Katie: Inside the soul is where mana comes from. Simple to understand, right? Well, moving on from that, outside of the body, and soul is what's known as the worldview.
Galatea: A Worldview is in the form of a invisible barrier that projects the users thoughts out into the world.
Katie: When it projects the users thoughts, that user is gifted a certain element of magic that fits what they view the world as. If your view on the world is hatred and rage, you'll be gifted fire, if it's loving and caring, you'll be gifted wind, etc.
Galatea: Also one thing to note; whatever magical element you receive from your worldview, whether its fire, ice, and wind, your mana will match the color of the element you obtained. Fire users will have red mana, ice users will have cyan mana, wind users will have green mana, earth users will have brown mana, and water users will have blue mana
Katie: Thats all, and hope it helps through your journey of Reincarnated Commoner!
Galatea: Okay, back to the story.
****
The injured dragon made its way down to the village, unable to flap its left-wing correctly, which caused it to turn to its side, and inevitably crash in the middle of Sludge village.
Thousands of slimes started hopping away, in fear for their life, knowing they didn't have what it takes to fight against a literal dragon half the size of a football field.
Me and Twirl dove downwards, making our way back to the village.
Even though I was out of mana, I had to fight back against the dragon somehow!
I wish I could use my dark magic, but that will only bring the world to a potential end if I resurrect that entity. Then again, how much do I need to use before they resurrect?
They were so vague about it, this must be some mind game they're playing on me or something.
Damnit!
I needed to do something.
Anything!
["Twirl, stop for a moment."]
Twirl had came to an halt, nearly causing me to fling off.
["Woah!"] But I clung onto his blubbery body with all my strength.
["What is it human? Why did you want me to stop all the sudden? We have to defeat that dragon!"]
["Can I ask you something?"]
["Now? In this time of need?"]
I nodded.
["Yes, I need to know something about dragons..."]
["What do you need to know? Where their weak spot is?"]
["No, not that. Can they understand humans? Or any other race that's apart from theirs."]
["Hmmm..."] Twirl gave a long pause, thinking to himself.
["No, they can't."]
Damnit, my plan wasn't gonna work!
["BUT!"]
["Huh?"]
What did twirl mean by 'but'? Was there another way?
["We slimes can translate any language, even that of dragons!"]
["Really? How can you do that?"]
Twirl chuckled.
["Heheheh, simple, we get close to the dragon and I perform soul-link."]
["Soul-link?"] I asked.
["You already know what it is; it's when you focus and link with your soul to use magic, like anyone else, but for us slimes we can link our souls with other creatures, and people as well, to either transfer mana, or talk to talk to people in their language."]
I pumped my arm in joy.
["Bingo! That's perfect, all we need to do is make our way to the dragon, and do soul-link."]
["WAIT WHAT? No no no! I didn't say we were gonna do it, I was just explaining how us slimes work!"]
["Twirl, it's our only option, man up!"] I slapped his head, having my hand recoil from his bouncy body.
["Cmon human, is that really safe?"]
["Look at the dragons body, Twirl, he can barely move. He's laying in the middle of the village, half unconscious, his wing is torn, and his right foot is missing. The poor guy is injured beyond repair."]
Twirl grunted, knowing I was right.
["Darn... Grrr, fine! I'll perform Soul-link on it!"]
Whew.
["Thank you Twirl. Now, let's get a move on."]
We slowly flew down, making our way to Sludge Village.
I been gone over an hour by now, so hopefully Olivia and the rest are still asleep.
The stone-igloos I built for everyone is keeping the sunlight out, so maybe they'll think it's dark until they look out from the front.
Anyways, we finally arrived on ground, and I hopped off of Twirl, running over to the injured dragon, standing in front of its face.
It was large and bulky, but still injured.
It didn't pose much of a threat anymore.
["There there, I'm not gonna harm you anymore."]
I slowly reached forward—
["Human, are you crazy? That thing will bite your hand off!"]
Twirl was right, it could bite my hand off without a doubt... but maybe I deserve that from what I did to it.
I know I was suppose to fight against the dragon, but I ended up making it suffer in the end.
I felt horrible, I definitely need a punishment for that.
That's just how my mind works, I was a fair guy, even if it involves getting myself harmed to make it up.
It's a bad habit of mine.
["Haaaah?"] One of the slimes in the village uttered.
["T-The human is... touching the dragon?"] Another slime said.
That's right, I was touching its jaw, rubbing it back and forth.
Turns out, I still have my hand intact.
["From the looks of it, the dragon can't open its jaw anymore. Twirl, it's time."]
Twirl sighed.
["Man... alright then! Let's get this over with."]
The slime hopped its way over to me, leaping onto the dragons cheek, and closing its eyes.
["Performing Soul-link!"]
Twirl emitted a bluish aura as it expanded outwards, connecting with me.
("Huh?")
("Can you hear me, human?")
("Y-Yeah, I can hear you. Are you using telepathy to speak to me?")
("Yep! You're now connected to the Soul-link as well, so you'll hear everything me, and the dragon will say, as long as you stay in my aura.")
We were talking to each other inside our minds.
("Is it... finally over?")
Huh? Was that the dragon talking?
("Is what over?") Twirl responded in an angry tone.
("Ah... that answers my question, it is over. Thank goodness.")
("You nearly killed my family, and you attacked Sludge Forest! Speak for yourself, dragon, or the human will execute you!")
Woah Woah, I didn't have the magic to do that!
Twirl was seriously pulling a dangerous bluff.
("I... was being controlled by someone.")
("Huh? Being controlled by who exactly?")
("I don't know, but they attacked my nest and performed a spell on me. I fought back against them, but it wasn't enough... they were too powerful. Once the spell collided with me, I was forced under their bidding, and they sent me to Underearth with a teleportation spell.")
So she was mind controlled?
("Do you have any descriptions on these people?") I asked.
("No... one was wearing all black, and the other was a tall man with pointy blonde hair, and a large sword on his back. He also wore full leather armor.")
Twirl looked confused.
("I don't get it, why would these people send you here, to attack Sludge Forest?") Asked twirl.
("I am unsure myself, slime, but I can only assume it was to eradicate the entire slime race.") Responded the dragon
("No... it has to be more than that. These people have a darker goal, my gut is telling me.") I said.
("Ho ho ho! We can only assume, young cub. Whatever they're planning, it isn't for the good of the world.")
("I can't believe these people know teleportation spells, that's something not even Atlantis City can accomplish! Especially if it involves teleporting to Underearth. We're protected by a magical barrier created centuries ago, to keep outsiders away! Only the minorities here can do teleportation magic that allows them to leave Underearth, and come back whenever they want.")
Yeah, whatever Twirl was saying did sound suspicious.
Whoever these people were, I hope they'll be stopped by someone.
("Young cub... may you fulfill my dying wish?")
Huh? A dragon is asking me to fulfill their last wish?
("W-What is it?")
("You see... I am... pregnant...")
EH? A pregnant dragon, and I injured it?
My god, I started to feel bad for making it suffer, but now I know it's pregnant—?
I felt like scum.
("Do not make that expression, young cub.")
The dragon said.
("You were only protecting the world... we need slimes and those of Underearth to keep the world moving, now don't we?")
I... I didn't know what to say... I could only... cry.
Tears unexpectedly rolled down my cheeks, and I walked to the dragon, hugging its big chin.
("I'm sorry...")
("Do not shed tears for me... I am old, and I was dying anyways. Nothing lasts forever, young cub.")
She's right... it doesn't... but I'm still a child.
I'm still 9 years old.
I couldn't help but only cry for her.
And so I did.
("If you believe that you have to make it up to me... then fulfill my last wish... and raise my daughter.")
Twirl widened his eyes.
("R-Raise... your daughter?")
("Yes, young cub, raise my daughter. It is about time for her to come out of me, and she will be in a eggshell, under protection, but I also trust in you to protect it with your life as well, in remembrance of me.")
I stood back, wiping the tears from my face as I sniffled.
("I-I will...! I'll protect her with my life, as your last dying wish, mam!")
("Thank you, wholeheartedly. My name is Zarathruuka, it is dragon tongue, please tell her my name, young cub.")
("Zara...thruuka? Yes mam, I'll let her know who you were. You can rest... and I'll take it from here...")
Zarathruuka nodded her head with a sigh of relief.
("I lived a good life... now I will ascend into the afterlife, outside of this universe. Death awaits me, with his scythe.")
Zarathruuka took her last breath, and just like that... she faded away.
Her soul was no longer inside her body, thus, Soul-link had disconnected, leaving only me and Twirl linked.
("Goodbye, Zarathruuka. May you Rest In Peace.")
I placed my hand on her chin and bowed my head in moments of silence.
But then I heard the sound of something gooey?
It was coming from behind Zarathruuka... until a loud "plop" was heard.
Something wet fell on the ground.
Soul-link disconnected, and I quickly ran behind Zara to see what it was.
Ah—
It was the egg!
The baby I'm suppose to protect with my life.
It's been born!
