The fire alarms alerted dozens of demons to my location, noticing the metal-door exploded off its hinges.
I walked forward, not scared, but rather confident in myself to take each and every one of them down.
["What? One of the kids escaped, restrain him! If he struggles then kill him without any hesitation!"]
A group of demons in the hallway charged at me while one specific demon directed them, and gave them orders. They listened.
The horde of mazoku's came charging at me, holding their weapons inside their hands; some were swords, others were axes, and most were just daggers.
["It's no way in hell you have a chance, kid! It's twelve against one!"]
The one directing the horde of demons had a confident grin on his face, and it only angered me more.
["I'll kill you... I'll kill every single one of you from what you did! Its unforgivable!"]
My anger was rising, the dark magic around my body expanded, and engulfed the horde of demons in front of me, maddening them in its effects.
["Gaaaah! Aaaaah! What's happening to me? What's happening to meeee?"]
They all screamed as they fell to their knees, holding their heads in agony.
Some fell unconscious.
Some outright died.
["What magic is this? Is it a skill from Atlantis City?"]
The lead-demon asked me.
["I don't even know myself... but if it helps me take every one of you down, I'll use every bit of its power!"]
Before the lead-demon could unsheathe his weapon, I risen my hand and shrouded his arm in dark magic.
["W-Whats happening!? My arm... I can't move it!"]
["So many lives lost because of you people... how can you walk around everyday with smiles on your faces? How can you live without the death of hundreds of kids effecting you?"]
The demon groaned in pain, unable to answer my question.
["YOU SHOULD DIE INSTEAD OF THEM!"]
I engulfed his other arm in dark magic, crushing it until his bones popped.
["Aaaaahhh! Please, please stop it! I can't take anymore!"]
My body... it felt uncontrolled from this magic.
My anger was rising exponentially... I felt like going on a murderous rampage!
I wanted to kill them! I wanted to kill every last demon in this world, without mercy.
The men, the women, the kids, everyone.
They all deserved to die... none of them deserved happiness.
["Yes Godfrey, kill them all... leave not one demon soul alive."]
I could hear that mysterious entities voice, talking to me again.
["Kill them Godfrey, kill them, kill them, kill them, kill them, kill them, kill them! KILL THEM ALL!"]
I covered my ears with my hands, gritting my teeth in pain.
["Aaagh! Stop it... get out of my head!"]
It's voice echoed loudly, and I was now vulnerable.
["What do you want with... me!??"]
["KILL THEM GODFREY! You are the one who will awaken me! The more you use the power I given you, the closer I am to resurrection! You're the only child within the whole world who has enough potential to use the power I given you! So kill them all with it, you have no choice either way! If you use your normal magic, you'll just die!"]
I'll bring them closer to resurrection? This magic I have is dangerous! It's something I should get rid of... but without it I won't be able to escape and return Olivia home, safely.
Fuck! I have no choice, I must keep using it for the better!
["Fuck you! I don't know who you're, and what your purpose is, but I won't bother resurrecting you, so don't get your hopes up!"]
I risen my hand and shrouded the lead demon in a black aura, dropping him dead.
Whatever this magic was, it was able to madden those within its radius, and outright kill them—
But for some reason, it feels like it can do more.
["What the hell happened here?"]
Coming around the corner, and down the hallway was Tio.
He finally shown himself.
["All these men... all of them are dead? Wait a minute..."] Tio didn't notice me standing in the middle of the hallway with my arms covered in tattoos, and my body coated in blackish magic.
["How the hell did you manage to escape the doctor?"]
I marched towards Tio, aggressively.
["I'll make sure to put this magic to use... definitely against someone like YOU!"]
I accelerated forward, blitzing Tio's reaction speed, and slamming my fist through his gut, out the other end.
["Guhh.... Aaah... gack!"]
Tio spat out blood on the ground, falling to his knees while I removed my arm covered in blood.
["What kind of monster are you? You killed the doctor... and dozen of other demons with ease... you're no child... you're a misfit in this world..."]
Tio placed his palms on the ground, spilling more blood from his mouth.
["You deserve every second of that pain. What you did to Olivia and the other children is unforgivable."]
I crouched down, reaching for Tio's belt to yank off the keys attached to it.
["...Wait... wait a minute!"] Tio shakily reached to grab my wrist, stopping me. ["What you did will cause you to be hunted for the rest of your life... this organization... we call ourselves the BlackWing, a demon organization meant to rival and destroy Atlantis City- Goahh!"] Tio puked up more blood, unable to hold my wrist any longer as he fell in his puddle of death. ["Y-You are no longer safe... they will find you sooner or later... and when they do... you won't survive them..."]
I stood back up with a frowning expression.
["You can send your entire army after me, I'll be glad to fight for Olivia, and my people. My dad willingly sacrificed his life in war against your kind, so maybe I don't care by doing the same thing."]
Tio scoffed at me.
["Those words will come to bite you in your ass one day, kid, you'll never escape our clutches... you know why? Because you already struggled with the weakest section of the BlackWing! We're nobodies! We're the weakest of the entire organization, you'll have no winning chance against the big boys, so run while you can! Hahahahaha! Gahaa...haha...! Nghhhh..."] Tio had the last laugh as he groaned in pain afterwards, slowly fading to his death. ["We'll... win... for sure..."] His eyes closed, and he met with his maker.
["Good Riddance."]
I stepped over the dead bodies as I made my way to the prison-doors, taking the keys in my hand to unlock each one.
I could see children in the corners of the wall in each room, scared as they balled themselves up, afraid of me... however I comforted them.
I unlocked each twelve doors, freeing the children from inside, and taking away the dark-magic around my body for their safety.
It took at least twenty minutes to get their trust, and for them to follow me.
Eventually I was at the last door, opening it with the last key.
I slowly pushed it open, and to my surprise... I finally found her—
Olivia.
["...Is that you... Godfrey?"]
Olivia slowly stood up from the ground, teary-eyed with the bandana still around her left eye.
She slowly approached me as her feet pattered against the cold stone floor, hugging me.
Her embrace was genuine, and she felt comfort with my presence.
The other children behind me all watched cluelessly, as they were still a bit worried.
["Thank you, Godfrey! You done it... you saved us!"]
I smiled, proceeding to hug her back around the waist.
Olivia started to cry. I felt tears pour down her cheek, soaking into my shirt while she sniffled on my shoulder, her nails dug into my back, and she felt afraid to let go of me.
["Let's return home, Olivia."]
She nodded her head and wiped the tears from her eye with one arm.
Slowly stepping back, she looked at me and nodded her head in approval.
["I'm ready, I'm sure we all are!"]
The other kids behind me nodded.
["But before we go..."] I muttered.
["What is it?"] Olivia responded.
["Your arm, it's been cut off Olivia, what do you mean 'what is it''? You're acting oddly calm about that!"]
She looked down at her arm, closing her eyes, ashamed.
["Its because I fought back against the demons when they tried sucking up half my magic power... I was acting like an idiot... and now... I'll never get to fight again."]
Olivia was genuinely broken, I could hear it in her voice... but there was still hope.
["Please god... forgive me if I'm doing something wrong by using this power!"] I murmured.
Olivia glanced at me, confused.
["What are you talking about, Godfrey...?"]
I held up my arm and clenched my fist, proceeding to close my eyes while I connected with my soul.
All I had to do was search my soul again for that mysterious power... and so I did.
I searched, and searched... until I could feel a bottomless pit in the core of my existence.
This pit felt like a void of nothingness, so I knew it must've been the magic I wanted.
I grasped for it, internally, summoning it forth once more!
My arms were coated in tattoos, and my body was emitting a dark mana around itself.
I done it.
["W-Whats that magic power? What's going on?"]
Olivia seemed freaked out, but I couldn't blame her.
["No time to explain."] I placed my hand on Olivia's shoulder, focusing my magical power into it.
["M-My shoulder... why does it feel tingly? What's going on, Godfrey, explain yourself!"]
My hand was resting on the shoulder where Olivia's arm was missing, but now... I was restoring it.
Slowly, a dark pillar emerged from the socket of her shoulder, trailing down until it materialized a black-arm which emitted dark mana into the air.
The arm quickly changed colors, and it matched Olivia's skin tone. It was connected to her now, but I wasn't done just yet.
Her hair started to regrow on her head, and her teeth was regrowing as well.
The bruises and cuts on her body were disappearing, and she was restored back to herself.
Whatever this magic was, it listened to my will, and could do whatever I wanted it too.
It had a mind of its own, and it's limits are virtually none!
But I knew that abusing it would only lead to a more devastating awakening, that I need to avoid at all costs.
Whoever the entity was that gave me this power, is a dangerous threat.
I don't wanna be the cause of worldwide annihilation.
But then again, I didn't know enough about them, or if they were that strong.
The only thing I knew was that they wanted to come back, and I'm the only one who could bring them back.
["My body... it's... restored? Everything doesn't hurt anymore, m-my arm is back!? What did you do Godfrey?"]
Olivia placed her newly-created hand on the wall, suddenly deconstructing it.
["WOAH! What the heck just happened?"]
But it seems I given Olivia a power that I shouldn't have....
