Chapter 2 - Her Epic Runaway Plan.

"You know I plan on running away with Barry soon," Sydney relayed a message to her brother Shane, who first gave her an awkward stare from the top of her head to her toe twice before bursting into laughter.

Sydney saw that coming when delivering that little secret plan of hers to her brother. Of course, Shane would never believe her, but then nothing about that was funny at all.

"What? What's so funny about what I just said?" She asked with an upset face.

"Nothing, it's just the way you said that with such a serious face and didn't laugh, wasn't it a joke?" Shane continued laughing but abruptly stopped when he saw no smile on Sydney's poker face.

"Oh, you actually meant that?" It dawned on him now that it wasn't a joke.

"Of course, I did. I wasn't joking at all." Sydney was dead serious.

"Wait! What?, Wait a minute, have you gone completely crazy?" He looked at her like she had lost her mind and Shane immediately dropped the gamepad that he was playing with to listen to Sydney attentively.

"I think I have, Shane," Sydney shrugged with a weak smile.

"Yeah, I can totally see that. You have gone nuts for real" He retorted with a nod of his head.

"Last night I argued with Mom and it was about Barry again. It happens every day so I can't keep on staying here. Mom just won't let me be, she's always at my throat. I can't take it anymore"

Sydney let Shane know this because he could keep a secret unlike her other brother Henry, who would run straight to their parents and report it the moment they are done talking about it. Though he's not around at the moment, having gone on a little trip. That one has no sense of loyalty at all.

"Syd, you shouldn't let that make you think like that. What the hell do you know about running away? You won't even survive a day out of this roof," Shane was always on her side, but not this time. This was crazy.

"I actually can,"

"No, you can't"

"Yes, I can. As long as I try, sitting stuck here every day won't show I'm capable of doing that," Sydney would leave as planned. Her mind is made up already and there is no changing it.

"Syd, are you even listening to yourself right now?" Shane questioned with doubt that Sydney was with her senses at the moment.

"Of course I am, Shane, and this isn't the first time I have wanted to tell you this. I planned on running away without letting any of you know in the first place, but that was going to hurt you, so I couldn't. It's the only reason I'm letting you know this now" Sydney spilled the truth to him.

Shane was shocked by her words, seeing the resolve in her eyes.

To be honest, he's more shocked than impressed, it seems Syd has grown up. She's no longer the little sweet innocent girl that he used to know. She's now a grown woman currently making plans to run away with her mate.

"I don't understand, Why? Why this all of a sudden, Syd? I know Mom doesn't treat you right because of Barry. But that doesn't justify what you want to do. Running away from home? Do you have any idea how complicated that can be?" It was too risky and he couldn't risk his baby sister.

"Of course, I do have an idea of how complicated running away from home can be. And if your definition of complicated is to be free from Mom and Dad's nagging every single time to stay away from Barry. Then I'm willingly taking the risk" Her eyes steeled with determination. It was now or never.

"You seem to have a problem with what I want to do because you have no idea how much it sucks to be stuck here every single day and experience what I go through since you have Brittany, the perfect noble mate that Mom and Dad want," She pointed out to him.

"Don't bring Brittany into this, Syd. I seem to have a problem with what you want to do because it's wrong. Also, there's no way you can do that without Mom and Dad hunting you down and bringing your ass back here. Which you know quite well" Shane wants Sydney to get his point but she didn't appear interested.

"I don't give a damn about Mom and Dad right now, Shane. I don't!" Sydney shook her head, "They won't be any hindrance to my plan because I have everything sorted out already before telling you this. And trust me when I say no one's going to find me. I will hide like a ghost. Barry's with me on this so I'm good to go" Sydney smiled at the thought of her mate.

This plan of theirs is going to be the most epic runaway plan ever.

"Sydney, you can't leave. You will be leaving everything behind. You know no one and have nowhere to go and you are surely going to regret ever making such a decision like this in the first place" Shane couldn't sit with his arms folded and allow Sydney to ruin her life because of that mate of hers. She did not just love him, she was obsessed with him.

"Mom and Dad think I can't survive without them so I want to prove them wrong. And I'm not going to regret anything, Shane. I never regret anything I choose to do for Barry, I never do and never will"

Sydney's not going to change her mind so easily because of Shane, she's sorry but she's choosing Barry over him this time since he refuses to show her support on this.

Shane was left speechless by her decision. But he managed to pull himself together to say to her. "I can't support you on this, Syd, I'm sorry. But you should know you wanting to run away from home for Barry isn't worth it"

Sydney scoffed, choosing Barry over her family with a plan to run away with him was worth it.

She's starting to think letting Shane know this was a bad idea. They are very close with each other, so it's the only reason she let him know she wants to run away with Barry. But Shane doesn't support it. So what's she going to do now?

Anyways, it doesn't matter. She had this plan in mind before Shane just came into the picture, so there's no backing out now.

"You have no idea how much it hurts to be reminded to let go of my mate every single day just because he doesn't meet up to mom and Dad's standards" Sydney prepared to leave, spending more time with Shane would only keep on reminding and hurting that he doesn't support her.

"And please don't hate Barry for this, Shane. I'm the one who brought up this idea all by myself and he bought it. I'm not just doing this for him, I'm doing it for myself because Barry will do the same for me. And don't try to stop me, I won't listen," Sydney saw the little scowl on Shane's face and was sorry about it.

She can only say sorry but can't drop her plan. A plan is a plan.

"I'm sorry, Shane. I know I hurt you but wish me luck,"
