Helia picked a champagne glass from the tray that the waiter brought to her. She raised it to her lips before drinking from it. The champagne was sweet and smooth just like the men standing in front of her. Her eyes have been fixated on Dr Kyree since she met him in hospital. He was hot as hell with black hair, piercing eyes, and a sculpted body. Helia could already feel her heart beating faster with each step that he took forward. He looked gorgeous in his suit.
"Is he coming towards me? I knew that no man can resist Helia's charm," She whispered seductively, tugging her hair strand behind her ear as she grinned playfully at Dr. Kyree. His brown eyes fixed on her as he stopped beside Helia and grasped the glass that she was holding in her hands. She blinked slowly, staring at the man in front of her. That wasn't what she was expecting at all.
"You shouldn't drink or eat anything that might trigger pain in your teeth," Dr. Kyree warned while looking at her sternly. Helia chuckled slightly as she tilted her head to the side.
"Playing hard to get? I like that," Helia muttered to herself. She snaked her right hand on his chest as she stared at him intensely.
"If you wanted my attention then you should've said," Helia whispered
seductively in his ear.
"I am not interested in my patients," Dr. Kyree whispered back to her. Helia smirked and was laced with amusement, her left hand traced his chest and wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him close.
"You will be, no man has ever resisted me."
"Then I will be the first one," Dr. Kyree grabbed Helia's hand and removed it from his neck.
"Helia!" Lianna approached Helia and pulled her away from Dr. Kyree.
"Let go," Lianna said while holding on to her wrist.
"See you at your clinic tomorrow," Helia
said to Dr. Kyree with a wink while waving goodbye seductively as Lianna dragged her out of there.
On the other hand Mira and Zion were greeting the guest. Many were renowned business people and belonged to rich families.
"When will this evening end, I am really tired," Mira complained with a tired expression. Her feets were starting to ache because of the heels she wore.
"Already tired? look at your brother ," Zion said, gesturing at Kieran who was talking with a renowned businessman.
"He has started expanding his resources. And here you are complaining about your heels," Zion chuckled lightly while taking a sip of cocktail. Mira rolled her eyes at Zion as she looked back at Kieran.
Mira chuckled at Zion as she too took a sip of cocktail.
"Expanding Resources? My foot," Mira laughed humorlessly as she shook her head and put the glass down on the table.
Zion gazed at her confused as he heard her laugh. He couldn't understand the reason for her laughing.
"My brother, I mean my step brother thinks he has the upper hand but actually he is just a chess piece waiting for someone else to control him," Mira said, shaking her head again.
"Whatever he is, whether a pawn or a puppet. He is at greater advantage than you. Do you really think what happened to the Grandiose Group is just a coincidence?" Zion inquired looking intently at her.
"Who else is behind him, he is much more powerful than you think Mira," Zion added with a smile on his face. Mira narrowed her eyes at him as she took a sip from her drink.
"So you knew Bankruptcy of Grandiose Group wasn't a coincidence. Still you accept his proposal,"
Mira murmured, narrowing her eyes as she looked at Zion.
"Of course, should I have accepted yours?" Zion smirked as she arched an eyebrow.
"He is right, I should have been more careful. What is done is done. I have to be more careful in the future," she concluded as she drank the remaining half of her drink. Placing it on the table she walked away from Zion's side.
"Hey where are you going?" Zion asked, frowning at Mira's retreating figure.
"Expand my resources," Mira smiled brightly at Zion as she walked away.
"Leave her," Jane encircled her arms around his arm tightly.
"When did you come? I have been looking for you all this time," Zion said with a smile as he wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her cheek affectionately.
"Aren't you afraid of getting caught?" Jane asked as she snaked her right hand on his chest seductively .
"Not when it's you," Zion stated cockily.
Jane smiled flirtatiously at him. "Then come dance with me Mr. Martson," she said seductively as she led him to the dance floor. Everyone's eyes were on them as Jane began dancing with him. People were whispering to themselves. Harlod Martson stood in the corner watching them as he continued to chat with his guests. His facial expressions were telling he was angry and displeased. He clenched his jaw as he stared at his grandson. His gaze shifted from the couple in the middle of the dance floor to Mira who was standing with her friends chatting and laughing.
"Harold now is the time to fulfill the promise you made 20 years ago," Savannah Reid reminded him of his promise. He nodded his head as he turned to face her.
"Now it's time to take this matter into our hands," Harlod said firmly, his gaze locked onto the couple in the middle of the dance floor.
...
The spotlight shone on Harlod Martson as he stepped on the stage. It was the time for cake cutting ceremony . The room was filled with applause and cheers as Harlod Martson cut the cake. After cutting cake he took the mic and addressed to the
guests present.
"First of all I want to thanks all of you who came to my birthday party and made it memorable.
"And on this special occasion I want to announce a good new to everyone tonight. I want to announce my grandson, Zion wedding with Ms Mira Reid. I hope all of you will come to their wedding and give them your blessings," Harlod announced as he raised his glass with a big grin on his face. The crowd clapped and cheered happily as Zion and Mira both were confused . They exchanged looks of disbelief and confusion as they watched the crowd cheer for them.
