Chapter 32 - Accepted pt 3...

February 2005...

The two of them left the room to see Amanda standing right outside the principals office.

"So... How did it go?" Amanda asked excitedly while the three of them made their way to the car.

"It was okay". Savannah said, while still watching the students pass by her, 'Wow, I can't wait to be apart of them'. She thought to herself.

" It wasn't that bad, except that the principal kept pressuring us", Adam said as the three of them walked out of the school building, "He also said that they'd send the results to you through email ".

Amanda opened the front door and started the engine and soon enough, they were on the road.

"You said something about him sending me the results". Amanda said before taking a swift turn.

"Yeah, he said that he'll send you the results before the end of the day",Adam said, "Wait, where are we going? You just passed the apartment ".

"Aren't you hungry? I'm taking you to eat out, or do you want us to just go home ". Amanda said.

"No", both Adam and Savannah said in unison.

" Which restaurant are we going to?" Adam asked.

"Don't worry, you'll find out once we reach there. This is an early reward for you two, so better be sure you passed the exam".

The place suddenly became silent, so quiet that you could here the noise from outside clearly with no obstruction.

Savannah took this opportunity to think about her new school and the girl she met earlier. 'She seems quite nice, maybe the two of us would be in the same class, or all this might just be in my imagination". Savannah thought to herself as she looked outside the window. She felt her phone vibrate in her pocket so decided to have a look at it.' It's true, I haven't told Debbie about how the exam went' Savannah thought as she typed on her phone.

' Hey, hope you're not to busy. I have a lot to tell you'. Savannah sent the text as she switched off her phone and continued looking outside when the car suddenly came to a halt.

"Alright everybody, we're here". Amanda said as she got out of the car.

Savannah couldn't do anything but come out as well, whether she wanted to or not. It wasn't like the food at Herlens wasn't great. In fact, it was amazing, but they couldn't come here all the time. There were dozens of restaurants just like Herlens around, why not there?

All three of them got out of the car and made their way into the restaurant. As expected, the place was bustling with people as the staff members kept rushing in and out of the kitchen.

They picked the only empty seat they could find and sat down.

A waiter approached them not long after.

"Good morning Ma'am. Can I have your order?" The waiter said as he took out his writing pad from his pocket.

"I'll have some mashed potatoes ". Amanda said to the waiter.

The waiter slightly turned to look at Savannah and said, "What about you?"

"I'll just have Spaghetti". Savannah said as she picked up her phone to check whether Debbie replied, but she didn't. Feeling off, she put her phone back on the table.

The waiter wrote down their orders and turned to Adam, "And you sir?"

"I'll also have Spaghetti". Adam said to the waiter.

"Okay, your orders would be here in a while. Make yourself at home". The waiter said as he made his way to the kitchen.

Savannah picked up her phone from the table and scrolled through it for a while, she was about to switch it off again when she saw a notification saying, ' Debbie, new text'. She quickly opened the text to see what it said.

' I've not been so busy lately, what's wrong, did the exam go well?'

'It did. That's not even the main reason I want to talk to you. That school looks so amazing, and the students looked really nice, except for one thing...' Savannah sent the message and decided to play some games on her phone for while. It didn't seem as though their food would be coming anytime soon.

She was in the middle of her game when she got a new text from Debbie. She quickly existed the game and opened the new text.

'What is the 'thing' that you're referring to. I heard the school is really nice, what could be wrong with it?'

'The principal. He's the 'thing' I'm referring to. He's so strict and could change his mood within minutes. He kept pressuring us that he'll take our scripts if we made a sound. I mean, what sound would we make, the gap between me and Adam was about 5 feet, we couldn't even speak even if we wanted to'. Savannah sent the text feeling a bit lighter now that she got most of her thoughts out of her head.

'Wow, calm down. Take it easy. Now say everything you said but slower'. Savannah sighed after reading the text and was about to type in another text when her mom snatched her phone from her hand.

"Mom..." She was about to say but Amanda cut her short.

"Sit down quietly and eat your food". Amanda said as she stuffed her phone on her bag.

Savannah looked at the food infront of her and took one of the bowls. Though the Spaghetti was nice, she still didn't feel like she had the appetite to eat but she knew she couldn't just dump the food. Her mother payed for this to celebrate her exam.

Now she began to wonder what she got in the exam, did she do well? Did she deserve the food that was placed in front of her? She decided to shake those thoughts away and eat her food.

The food wasn't much so it didn't take her long to finish eating it. At that moment, all she wanted to do was go back to the apartment. It might look boring and uncomfortable but when you've stayed there for a few days, the duvet-bed will start feeling a bit more comfortable than it looks.

Not long after that, the waiter approached them and took their dishes away.

Since she was done eating , she asked her mom to give her her phone back. Amanda wasn't really listening to her so she just gave Savannah her purse.

Savannah quickly took out her phone and turned it on. There were already 3 new notifications from Debbie. She opened her texts.

' I'm not sure what could be wrong with the principal though'.

' You said the students look nice, I'm sure you'll have an amazing fist day'.

'I meant first'.

'Forget about the principal, I saw a girl today'. Savannah sent the text and waited a while for Debbie's response but got nothing. She was about to send another text to her when she saw her mother getting up.

"Wait, are we going now?" Savannah asked confused as Adam also got up from his seat.

"Yes. Or don't you want to follow us?" Adam said as Savannah rolled her eyes and got up from her seat.

The ride home was like the ride to the school and Herlens, mostly watching the view outside. Maybe Savannah never mentioned this to anyone but the view of tall and small buildings with tree's was something Savannah enjoyed more than anything. Maybe it was just because she considered car rides long and boring, or maybe it was just a part of her personality, no one knows, not even Savannah herself...
