Chereads / Domain of Kings - Rulers of a New World / Chapter 7 - The Power of a God

Chapter 7 - The Power of a God

A giant boar lay dead next to a black-haired teenager's feet

'Crack'

Jay cracked his neck before rushing into the green shrubbery surrounding him.

He had been waiting for a moment like this to happen. Finally, he would be free of the shackles of society and free of the law preventing his genocides. OX-98654-B was now the birthplace of a monster.

"Hahaha"

A hysterical laughter could be heard throughout the forest as Jay rushed at any unassuming creature hunting it viciously before moving on coldly. The crude spear he made out of a branch was starting to fall apart but he knew soon enough he wouldn't need a weapon.

Soon enough he would stab at and rip apart everything with his hands alone.

The eerie smile on his face grew larger and larger until it stretched from ear to ear, threatening to expand further.

'Liam is too much of a coward. His method works but where's the thrill in it?'

"This is so much better. I can make the territory later since I do have plenty of time. Am I right system?."

[User is accurate most individuals will awaken on day 1. However, today is day 0 meaning you and user Liam have bypassed this.]

'That should be obvious, after all, I have always been the best.'

'Though in Liam's case it should have something to do with his time manipulation talent.'

Pushing the matter to the back of his mind, Jay caught sight of a mountain to his West.

The sun rising behind it accentuated the shadows it cast on the area in which Jay was.

He looked up at the mountain and started towards it moving at an orderly pace slaughtering any creature crossing his path and growing stronger the more he killed.

******************************************************

The sun was at its peak looming over the clear blue sky unaffected by the pollution of his old world.

Jay's smile began to fade as he gradually became bored of the incessant murder. After all, his kills were at least 200 and he hasn't seen any new species in a while.

As he searched for a new thrill, he arrived at the mountain.

Beside this mountain was a wide valley with a river flowing into a large lake. From the lake, a thin stream took the water towards the ocean or converged with another larger river.

For the time being, he looked around and inspected the area checking for mineral deposits and the potential for expansion.

This trip proved to be fruitful as he confirmed it would be a sufficient beginning of his empire.

"Ha"

With a sneer on his face, Jay looked smugly at his new status which far surpassed what Liam showed him a few hours ago. Unbeknownst to him, however, Liam had also started his grind with the help of his many personnel killing many more than what Jay had achieved.

Overall, Jay slaughtered 269 hostiles. Split up he killed:

• 106x lvl 13s

• 47x lvl 12s

• 12x lvl 11s

• 45x lvl 10s

• 23x lvl 9s

• 10x lvl 8s

• 12x lvl 7s

• 10x lvl 6s

• 4x lvl 5s

This netted him a total of 24405 exp and 5790 territory exp.

He didn't know why nor did he complain about the fact that he received territory exp before he had a territory.

He started towards the lake, having noticed his body odour was getting worse. However, he also saw that he didn't sweat as much as he would have before especially with how much he had worked over the past few hours.

Unwilling to taint the lake with the dirt and mess that covered him, he crudely constructed a bucket out of some wood he gathered. As he carried the bucket over to the lake he saw his reflection.

In the clear, calm and luminescent water, he could see a face covered in dirt and clothes that were in tatters, and blood covered a large portion of his body; of course, none of the blood was his. Despite the mess, one could easily recognise the handsome features of the teenager.

Jay stripped down and washed with the water he had collected.

He then soaked his blood-stained clothes trying to get them as clean as possible before ringing the water out and wearing them.

He had nothing to dry himself or his clothes with so he had no choice but to wear them.

Again he stepped onto the periphery of the lake, examining himself.

His body had matured more, and grown in height; the muscles he bore were also far better defined.

He had expected something like this to occur when he checked his status screen, but he hadn't expected his eyes to have changed from deep, dark brown almost black eyes to those possessing a hint of silver in his now otherwise completely black eyes.

Following this, Jay named and spammed the level-up button on his territory before checking its status.

[Territory Status]

"Hmm, what are these capsules and where exactly are they?"

[Unknown capsules are located inside a cave in a mountain that is part of your territory]

Knowing that unknown objects and substances could easily become a threat to him, he urged the system to show him the way. In doing so, he had forsaken building recruitment zones and using the personnel summons for the time being.

"Guide me to them."

[Please walk 300m northeast from your current position and climb up the mountain for 50m. A cave will appear in your visual range.]

Jay rushed to the cave swiftly since despite agility being his lowest attribute he was still over 4 times as fast as the average human.

He entered the cave and looked around at the dark and gloomy stone walls that narrowed and widened around at seemingly random intervals.

Soon enough, arriving at the end of the twisting tunnels, he found the capsules he had been searching for.

Looking at them reminded him of something he would often see in sci-fi and alien movies.

In front of him were three thin membranes filled with an unknown blue glowing liquid.

This piqued Jay's interest, but to be frank his attention was actually caught by what was submerged in the liquid.
