Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 The Hungarian Hunting

John Silverarrow bowed before the portrait of a heavily moustached and highly decorated old general Driebatch Alberti, the first of the martyrs of his ancestors. In 1247, he led his small troop of one hundred and twenty three soldiers to Transdanubia in Hungary. When asked by the Romanian emperor he said that he would be on a vacation and hunt preys there. He actually had a plan in his mind to finish the fight between the werewolves and his clan once and for all. He pillaged all the one hundred and twenty two villages near Transdanubia and killed a total of seventeen thousand eight hundred forty four people. Werewolves were enraged. Because almost eighty eight percent of werewolves lived in that region alone. And a big demography of werewolves were wiped away suddenly just two days before a lunar eclipse in 1247 by General Alberti and his small troop alone. And that to be secretly. Not even the emperors of Romania and Hungary knew of it. Only the werewolves knew it. It was a great strategy. General Alberti was a great strategist. By his clandestine expedition ninety nine percent of the werewolves of Transdanubia was wiped away. That was eighty eight percent of the werewolves off the face of the earth were wiped out just by the single plan of a single general. The surviving werewolves called for a secret meeting after three years and asked Romanian royalties to get General Alberti as their guard. Alberti had to guard the werewolves while their meeting continued. But there was one condition. Alberti himself would guard the tent where ten elders would enter and discuss. But whoever other than the ten elders tried to enter the tent would be beheaded by the command of the Romanian emperor himself. The meeting started in a full moon night. The ten werewolf elders shifted to wolf forms and howled and concluded within minutes that they would scatter through out the globe. When Alberti in a plan to kill the werewolf elders in their wolf forms entered the tent with his a dozen of supporters, the elders shifted back to human forms and Alberti was arrested for breaking the rule. He was beheaded by his keens publicly. But his descendants took oaths to kill as many werewolves as possible.
