Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 Hunters Of The Ten

Some of the descendants of Alberti formed a clandestine clan christened Hunters Of The Ten. They took vow to slay the ten elder werewolves who had conspired to kill Alberti. They combined all their armies which numbered in eleven thousand. They used trained dogs for the first time in the hunts. The dogs came very handy while hunting. They searched and signalled others of the position of werewolves or their remains. They scared the werewolves. Dogs were also good at picking scents. Of course not as good as their counterparts - the werewolves, but were helpful to Alberti's descendants. Here the descendants of Alberti used silver tipped arrows for the first time as they found that it was more effective while hunting werewolves, because it was not always possible to capture and behead a werewolf. The ten elders resided in a secret village near Abruzi. Alberti's descendants or the Hunters Of The Ten hid in the forests for weeks. Once they spotted a werewolf couple love making under the full moon light. They captured them and tortured them. The female died off the severe torture. The male was tortured for two more days. As the werewolf couple did not return a party of werewolves came out in search of them under the leadership of one of the elders Shrikenbolt. Alberti's descendants captured them and killed them too. One elder was dead. Later in the month another werewolf search party came. There were eight members. Alberti's descendants captured, tortured and killed them too when the wolves did not reveal a word about their secret village. But later one of the Alberti's descendants recognised that these eight members were all alphas. So nine alphas or elders were killed. They cheered. They waited futilely for two more months, scattered throughout forests and hills of the area. The last elder was cunning enough not to be trapped. The secret village of the werewolves remained secret till now. Alberti's descendants cheered and they changed their surname in honor to their valorous job into Silverarrow.
