Alexander made his appearance into his father's study reeking of hate and burning with rage.
"If this is about Daniel I suggest you leave while you still can" Jeffery warned even before Alexander could speak. His tone flat and cold, devoid of any emotions or regret.
Alexander stared blankly at the man he called father, he couldn't be more disgusted than he was now.
Without thinking further, he launched a fireball at the healing Jeffery. If he ever stood a chance of bringing this monster of a being to his knees, it was now, when he was still fresh from battle and his strength depleted.
Jeffery flinched at his boy's actions, he never expected Alexander to ever stand against him and his expectations had just been proven wrong. He wavered at the sight of the attack, but managed to regain composure of himself on time to barely escape the attack.
He bit his lips in frustration cursing the little boy who drained him of his energy without breaking even a sweat.
The thought of someone even more powerful than he was crippled him with fear.
"I'm going to give you another chance Alexander" Jeffery offered. His frantic shivering did no good in his ploy of dominance. He was weakened and at this point even terrified of his son.
Alexander's face spoke little of the anger he harbored inside. The rage he had been bottling up since he was a child had finally exploded. His father had simply crossed the line.
Jeffery could see past the expressionless face his son always kept. His eyes spoke a different thing all together. Hatred and anger were the topics of his emotion.
He blocked another fireball but every attack came with a greater force and took larger amount of energy to block. He was loosing, a sensation he had never felt not since he fought and killed his own father.
If his kids thought he was cruel then they were so lucky they never met their grandfather. A man who had used his children as sacrifices in battle.
"Sorcery," he said, "is not for the weak and all must be given to ensure victory and power" these were his goodbyes to every child he slayed in quest of power.
His father moulded him into the man beast he was and he couldn't be less grateful. He dodged another fireball which crashed into the gigantic shelves, bringing everything down in flames within seconds.
Luckily slipping past another fireball, Jeffery took refuge behind the walls of his study. They wouldn't hold long but it provided him enough time to call upon his ally, Rose.
She appeared immediately she was summoned, her beauty and elegance not diminished by a bit. Her awestruck face showed fear and curiosity at the condition of her summoner.
She had never seen him in such a condition before and she couldn't help but fear the opponent that she was called up against. The wall they hid behind gave in after a second blow from one of Alexander's fireballs.
A normal building would collapse after one impact with from magical power, but the Bruce mansion was no ordinary building. Every crack and dent in the tiles or walls were reinforced with magic making it a powerful fortress for one of the most powerful sorcerers to ever walk the earth.
Rose immediately created a dome over herself and her master shielding them from the falling rocks and debris.
"Rose"Alexander spoke for the first time, an orb of fire still building up in his open palm.
"Jeffery Bruce calling for a back up. I never thought I'd live to see this day" He mocked before releasing the matured fireball towards the duo.
Rose poured in more mana into the already depleting barrier. Alexander was no joke. She had watched him train with Jeffery ever since he could walk and his potentials couldn't be denied. He was a force to reckon with.
Jeffery rose weakly from where he crouched healing his wounds. His son's words had dug into heart. His cry for help was the exact thing that got his sister killed and Alexander's words had re opened old wounds. His sister, Esther, had stepped in to stop their father from his brute training after he had cried for help and she paid with her life for his mistake.
He placed his hands on Rose's shoulder and she understood what he meant. She surrendered the remaining of her mana to him, dematerializing as she did so.
The former weakend Jeffery was now full of energy even though he wasn't at his best, Alexander knew he had to choose his attacks carefully. He had carelessly wasted his mana on the former attacks he delivered, but he still had reserved strength to match his father even in his current rejuvenated state.
Jeffery wasted no time with his counterattacks before going on full offensive. Changing the tides of the battle in mere minutes.
Alexander stumbled on the pile of burning furniture and books, his careless fall saved him from a deadly blade of wind. His father was a beast. He was out to for the kill but he didn't expect less.
Bouncing up almost immediately he touched he floor, he summoned his lake of acid pool which Jeffery cancelled out immediately, and conjured up a whole new flooring in an instant. His miniature hounds stood no chance against the rage of his father as each of them met horrific ends by the hands of the tyrant.
Creating a dome over himself, Alexander successfully shielded himself from explosive hail which rained down upon him, spells he never knew existed. His eyes widened in horror as hands shot up from the earth and grabbed him, pinning him in place as Jeffery approached. Something felt off about this magic but he couldn't pinpoint what. His dome had broken in an instant as his father slowly advanced towards him, a red blade slowly materializing in his hands.
He struggled but it seemed the hands that gripped him had their own function. They were draining him of his energy and without a doubt supplying it to their conjurer. Jeffery's wounds were completely healed, one would rarely believe he just came out of battle if not for the torn clothes, and dried blood.
Using up his last ounce of mana, he conjured up a force field around himself but it all came down in an instant. His mana was completely depleted, the last one remaining in him was the one keeping him alive. He screamed out his lungs but red Vines had joined the accursed hands into pinning him down. Bringing him to his knees as Jeffery raised the completed sword ready to decapitate his son without a second thought.
