Chapter 6 - 06

Luckily, the princess was out of bath when I got there

"I heard he is here," The Princess said to me with a worried expression.

"Yes he is, but by the time he gets to the palace and settles down, you'll be ready I promise you, let's get your hair fixed right after I apply your makeup,"

Her hair was dark, long, and curly which made it difficult to pick a style but I had a plan in mind, I did a one-side braid and packed the rest of her hair together with a ribbon, and finally folded it into a doughnut shape.

"Wow!" She exclaimed and I could tell that she was happy with the results, next was the dress.

First, she wore the inner part of the dress which was a sleeveless overall before she wore the main dress, I helped her with the upper part of the dress which was short-sleeved and tailored in such a way that exposed parts of her cleavages.

After that, I tied several straps behind, I moved on to the lower part of the dress which wasn't difficult as it was just like putting on a huge skirt, and I tied more straps behind to secure it. And finally, I balanced the tiara on her hair and took a few steps back and beheld the perfection of my art.

She looked stunning and I smiled because I knew that I did a great job.

"Turn to the mirror my princess," I told her and she did so immediately and her jaws dropped.

"Do you like it?" I asked but instead of replying, she turned around and gave me a hug.

"I love it," She uttered and I was amazed, the princess barely complemented anything.

"I'll be right back my Princess, I need to make sure everything is ready and looking good before he gets here, I'll come to pick you up once it's time," I convinced her with a smile even though I could see the tension all over her face.

I rushed through the hallway to see what the dining hall looked like and my jaws dropped to my feet.

It was a work of art in there, candles of different heights were arranged on the table in descending order on both sides, plates, and culinary utensils were neatly placed before each chair.

Spotless glasses, wines of different kinds, and over twelve different dishes were present on the table with the raspberry Charlotte in the middle of it, a maid added some finishing touches to the roses she arranged here and there, petals were all over the floor around the table.

I couldn't describe the sight exclusively but it was phenomenal, "nothing could ruin the dinner," I thought. When I turned to leave I almost bumped into the King.

"I'm so sorry your majesty," I quickly apologized and he smiled at me and said.

"I wasn't wrong to put you in charge, I saw what you did with my daughter and I almost couldn't recognize her, and here again you have done a good job, I'm glad you understood the assignment,"

The King barely gives out complement just like his daughter so I was glad that he liked it. I heaved a sigh of relief and thought I was ready until a maid called my attention to something I had forgotten about.

"You don't intend to accompany the Princess out looking like this do you?"

I almost cried because I looked like a mess and didn't have much time, after thanking the maid who reminded me, I ran to my room where I rushed a shower and put on slight makeup, When I was about to put on my shoes, someone knocked on my door.

"The Prince has arrived, bring the Princess out immediately," A manly voice spoke behind the door.

Without properly putting my shoes on, I ran out of the room like a crazy person, and the guard was surprised, while I ran through the hallway I struggled with my shoes because I tried to put them on all while maintaining my swift pace and balance.

"Where have you been?" The Princess asked me as soon as I entered her chamber.

"I had to change," I replied briskly and looked at her for anything that may have been needed to be placed right.

"I've only met him once, hope I don't look too nervous?" She asked me and I saw her anxious face but I replied,

"You look great my Princess, just breathe in and out and you will be fine, he is here for you there is no need to worry okay, time to go," I said to her and picked up the basket of petals which I was to throw before her when she entered the dining hall.

As we left the room, the maids with the basket of gifts including perfumes, spices, pieces of jewelry, and precious stones, waited for us, and that was it, the moment she had been waiting for all day came together in good condition.

The Princess behaved like a little child as we walked through the hallway, she complained if we walked slowly and yelled at us not to walk slowly if we walked faster, and I wondered why she was so nervous even though she couldn't wait to see him.

It got worse by the time we got to the door separating us from the hallway, she stopped us from opening the door while she inhaled and exhaled slowly.

"Are you ready my Princess?" I asked her and she responded by nodding twice.

The door was opened and a broad smile crept upon her face showing her perfect white teeth, her Prince was just in front of her with his face that beamed with joy.

He stood up the moment he saw her, and she walked slowly towards him, I stopped throwing the petals once she was close to him, the maids placed the baskets of gifts on the floor before him and then turned to leave.

I was there to witness the whole event and I was happy for the Princess but one thing made me uneasy, Allesio guarded the dining hall.
