Chapter 34 - Zumba is great

A month later, at a corner of the trade district, a young man with a chiseled body could be seen dancing in a room, his perspiration hit the floor and yet his smile never faded.

"That's the way! Smile! Now you have to say something motivational! Shout it out loud!"

"COME ON GUYS, JUST 3 SONGS TO GO!"

Shi Tou smiled and continued to move his body while Zhu Jiao watched from the back and clapped his hands. When the music stopped, so did Shi Tou, after which he proceeded to do a cool down, still smiling widely.

"Boss! Thanks for the training! In this one month, it may be hard, but it was well worth it! I have a body that's aesthetic and functional!"

Shi Tou stood in front of Zhu Jiao, his tears rolling down his face. He was touched that Zhu Jiao had given him a 2nd lease of life. Although his initial thoughts on body cultivation had been uprooted entirely, he could feel that his body had significant changes.

Zhu Jiao smiled and ignored Shi Tou as he walked to the front of the room.

"Good job guys, take a rest, in the future, you'll definitely need to play longer like this."

Zhu Jiao spoke to the band, there were no speakers, or music players here so he had no choice but to hire a band. Even if he went into the there was no power outlet to provide electricity either. So he had no choice.

The band nodded obediently, stood up, and went to take a drink of water.

Zhu Jiao was excited, in this month he had set down the infrastructure, he had rented the place, and done significant marketing for the Zumba classes. Actually, there wasn't much that he had done, he basically let Shi Tou be his advertisement. After the fight with Wu Lie, everyone had already seen how Shi Tou looked, but now looking at Shi Tou again made everyone motivated.

He hired a few administrative staff and cleaners. Finally, everything is coming together. Sitting in the middle of the gym room, he shook his head. He finally knew what was missing, there were no decorations, no posters, nothing whatsoever.

Zhu Jiao touched his chin as he racked his head, there was no printing here so he had to start drawing on his own. Slapping his own thigh he had a great idea suddenly.

"That's right! I'm supposed to attend a talisman-making class! I've been so busy I forgot. The new lessons start tomorrow! Lucky!"

Zhu Jiao started laughing as he dismissed the staff and went home, he had always wanted to be a mangaka and wanted to learn the ins and outs of drawing, he lay down on his bed and drifted to sleep excited about what tomorrow would bring him.

The next day, he woke up and stretched, breakfast was sent to him and after staying here for a month or so, the menu was also entirely influenced by him.

The meal delivered to him was basically a full English breakfast, the concept of bread was still a bit difficult for the people here to understand so instead of toast he had 2 mantous instead. But it was good enough for him. Nevertheless, the chefs here had started to call him the food immortal, and they were all respectful of him.

After eating, he left the villa with light steps walking to a classroom for the first time. Entering the class and finding a seat he started to think back to his past.

"How nostalgic…" he smiled and thought to himself. The room was like a lecture hall with staggered seats so the back row won't be blocked by the front.

Zhu Jiao sat alone in the hall, while everyone was already there in groups. It didn't deter him though, he was just excited that he could finally do something that he enjoyed doing.

After waiting for a bit, the door slid open as a lady with long brown hair walked into the room, walking to the center of the stage she introduced herself.

"Hello everyone, I am Da Hua Jia, I'm your teacher for talisman creation. I think before we begin, I need to manage your expectations. Because this is just a beginner class, I don't expect any of you to create working talismans even by the end of the course."

The students nodded eagerly. They had a choice to choose the different electives but to choose this elective meant that they naturally held a high level of interest.

"So, who can tell me the usage of talismans?"

A student in the front row raised his hand.

"It's the art of creating a skill or effect in paper form! By activating the active talismans we can call out the skills immediately! For the passive effects, it depends on how much qi is put into the talisman."

"Yes, very good! What's your name?" Da Hua Jia asked the student who answered the question.

"My name is Ma Pi Jing!" The student replied.

"Okay, you are now the class monitor! To add to that, you can have active and passive talismans. Creating the active talisman requires you to visualize the skills you need and transfer them on paper using ink. Passive talismans are much harder to make because it requires the talisman artist to think deeply about the effect they want to achieve and have enough ability to force qi into the drawing making it considerably harder."

Zhu Jiao nodded his head as he listened intently. It was the most focused he had been in a while, he usually had no need to listen to any classes because he would usually just pass them. But for this, it actually interested him so he put all his effort into listening.

"Alright, this is interesting! I wonder when they will teach me to actually draw. The whole idea of putting ideas onto paper opens my eyes to a whole new world. To think that's how artists draw, it really is amazing. I wonder if Oda does that too?"
