Chapter 38 - Motivation

Both were viable options, but Zhu Jiao was just struggling because he was a perfectionist through and through. He really didn't want to screw up his art so he had put in more thought into it than normal.

Looking at the blank piece of paper on the desk, he put both his hands together as he rested his chin on his hands.

The students surrounding him were mocking him, laughing at him looking at the blank paper, he didn't grind the inkstone, nor did he move his brush.

From the bottom of the class, Da Hua Jia was looking cautiously. This was a student whose active talisman could blow a hole through a reinforced wall. With more Qi infused into a passive talisman, even if it doesn't work it still could overload and kill himself with the other students around him. In her hand, she held on to an active shield talisman.

If there was a worst-case scenario, she could still flick her wrist and throw it to cover Zhu Jiao and trap him within the barrier. One person dying is better than half the class dying.

Zhu Jiao's sharp hearing picked up sounds from around the class.

"Look at him, I don't even know why he's here!"

"He must have successfully created the talisman by accident."

"I think whatever he's doing now is just a big joke."

Zhu Jiao internalized his thoughts, he was way too much of a big person to let what other people said affect him.

"Damn it, what a joke! Which part of me looks like a joke…. Joke… JOKE! MEME! That's it!"

Immediately Zhu Jiao slammed the table as he stood up, he did it in such a swift motion that by the time everyone turned around to look for the commotion, Zhu Jiao had already sat back down as if nothing happened.

"There's only 1 font that will work. That is IMPACT!" Zhu Jiao smiled widely as he started to look through his memory banks for the font.

This ability manifested in Zhu Jiao when he was in school many years ago, his teacher had just started to teach everyone to write, needless to say as a kid everyone's handwriting is horrible. To motivate everyone, his teacher went up onto the board and started to write in cursive letters, making all the younglings slack-jawed and amazed. Going home he started to try to write cursive and when he couldn't he got upset. He wanted to write an angry email to the school to complain that his teacher wasn't doing a good job in teaching. As he was typing he was amazed at the type of fonts that could be found on the computer, there were comic sans for a less serious feel.

There were Wingdings if you really just wanted to confuse everyone. Or you can even go for Times New Roman for a very boring feel. Immediately a strong desire, and with that desire, it came to the manifestation of this ability. It transferred all the fonts it could find on the computer to be part of Zhu Jiao's mind. Any font he wanted to use he could use and everything written down would look as if it was printed.

Zhu jiao picked up the pencil and he waved his hand over the paper with the pencil. He moved from left to right and left to right as if he was possessed.

This ability manifested when he went home one day after school excited about the school trip to the Geological museum. To his surprise, he was shocked that the consent form he had to let his parents sign was ruined as it sank to the bottom of the abyss in his school bag. Usually, he wouldn't care less, going to the Geological museum didn't impress him, what he cared about though, was the class was going to stop by a famous katsu restaurant to eat their meal and that he couldn't let go.

To make matters worse while he was trying to straighten up the paper he accidentally tore it in two. Looking at the side of the table there lay a stack of blank paper and a blue pen. Picking the both of them up, he looked longingly at the consent form and an image appeared in his head. He couldn't control his hands as they swayed back and forth, putting his pen to the paper it started drawing dots and dashes, left and right, eventually reaching the end of the page, perfectly replicating the consent form.

His mother, however, was curious as to why the school printed the consent form in blue ink, but regardless she still signed it for him anyway. Only after arriving at the geological museum, was he told that the katsu restaurant was closed forcing him to eat somewhere else.

"What is he doing?"

"He's so weird!"

Zhu Jiao continued moving his pencil from left to right until he reached the bottom of the page. The paper was no longer blank and pristine like it used to be, but rather it was beautifully filled with the words,

"The only bad workout is the one that didn't happen."

Seeing the layout on the paper, he realized he needed to add some pizzazz, so he closed his eyes, immediately he thought of how Shi Tou looked like and his hands sprung into action. Completing a half naked drawing of the new and improved Shi Tou.

Completing the drawing, he started to pick up his brush pen to go over the lines, gently and delicately, he focused the qi in his dantian to the brush as Jimmy appeared in his mind holding pom poms constantly cheering.

"I feel so motivated to lose weight! I feel so motivated to lose weight!" Zhu Jiao shouted in his mind, repeating the sentence over and over again while inking the lines.

Beads of perspiration dripped down his forehead as he used his sleeves to wipe it away. Finally, he lifted the brush off the paper as a strong force emerged from the talisman.
