Chapter 54 - Chapter 53

The whole mountain started to shake and rumble under them now and soon huge balls of fire were exploding from the top of the mountain.

"We must move faster."

"I'm afraid we'll fall if I do." Other beastmen were starting to pass them up now.

She decided to get off and run beside him. She had long lost the rest of her family but she wanted to survive therefore she didn't look back.

Pat0 suddenly collapsed and started whimpering in pain.

"Pat, what's wrong? We must continue. Get up, we have to go."

Pat started to shake uncontrollably for a moment and then went still taking his last breath.

Being a healer, Lyria knew this was the effect of losing one's female, so she could guess his mate just died, and there was nothing to be done.

She got up and continued running, crying over the death of her brother. The tears made it difficult to see and she tripped and started falling down the mountain faster than the others were running. Bumping into things but too dizzy to grab onto anything, getting cuts and scratches as well.

She finally fell into a boulder and got her breath knocked out of her. She couldn't sit there long and tried to stand back up on shaky legs.

She looked down and realized she was off the mountain and at the top of it, red water was coming down burning everything it touched.

Balls of flames were still coming down, she needed to find cover. She got banged up pretty well and needed to rest and treat her wounds.

Black snow was everywhere. This was the ashes of everything burning.

She didn't know where she was or where she should go but she needed to get further away from the mountain.

She suddenly remembered Prince Koda took most of her things to his people that were waiting for him on the outside of the valley.

If she could find them, then at least she won't be alone.

She walked in the direction she thought Prince Koda's people were.

She didn't have to walk long before she found beastmen fighting.

Instincts told her to run but she wanted to see if she could find anyone she knew. Maybe her family would be there already.

So Lyria climbed up the nearest tree to get a better view. Once again it was her father she noticed first. He was alive and Lyria wanted to cry so badly in relief but she noticed he looked worn out and exhausted.

This is bad, he was fighting so many and her people were being slaughtered all around him.

Her eyes widen when she saw her father finally being brought to his knees. The rogues surrounded and laughed at him. One, in particular, stood in front of him. He clawed out father's eyes then reached into his mouth and yanked out his tongue. The rogue cheered over his achievement pumping his fist in the air that was holding fathers tongue like it was a trophy.

Another rogue walked up and with his claws, he bent down and clawed off his manhood. Father made a strange noise as he tried to cry out in pain. Two rogues ran over and held each of his arms.

Just like wild animals, the other rogues charged at father ripping his arms and legs from the rest of his body, cheering and laughing in excitement as they mutilated my father.

Lyria was mortified as she watched pieces of her father flying everywhere.

"No!" She whispered.

"No no no no!" She repeated a little louder with every word.

"NOOOOOOOOO! DAAAAADDD!" The words escaped her mouth before without her realizing it. She screamed out loudly as streams of tears rolled down her face and her eyes never left the sight before her. Her breathing was fast and shallow. Her mind is in an unbelievable state.

'I need to find help. I need to go help him.' Her mind was a mess now, not able to think straight.

She was in so much pain but the pain in her heart hurt more than the physical pain she was in. She started to climb down the tree wanting to go find some help.

There was a bear beastmen nearby and heard her scream so he waited, and when he finally saw her low enough to the ground, he knocked her the rest of the way out of the tree.

Lyria was so out of it that she wasn't paying attention to her surrounding. Lyria fell once again, getting a couple more cuts and bruises but still tried to get up and run.

The bear slammed her down knocking her out and effectively stopping her from running. The bear picked her up, throw her onto his back, and headed to where the others are supposed to meet up.
