When I finally opened my eyes, I realized I was laying down. It's almost night I need to get back to Lyria.
She the first thing on my mind.
The events that happen with Lyria going to the temple and the volcano erupting came back and he jumped up to leave.
Koda was in a tent that the guards made up.
There were two guards posted by the tent, both stood in front of Koda when he tried to leave.
"Stand aside!" Koda said in a deep fierce, merciless voice. He had a murderous aura around him that made the guards take a step back. The prince was pissed.
"Where is Dan?" Koda commanded.
"We've been guarding your tent sir, we do not know." Though their voices came out clear and unwavering, underneath that they were terrified.
All the guards had heard of how the prince had found a potential spouse and how much he already cared for her, now they were keeping him from finding her. The prince truly became a beast of irrational havoc.
"Daaaannnnn!!" Koda roared throughout their small campsite.
Dan ran over knowing he had no choice but to face the angry prince.
Dan falls to the ground and lands on his butt from the powerful impact of Koda's fist crashing into his jaw. Dan had it coming.
"Where is she?"
"We haven't located her. Some believe they saw her being taken by the rogues heading back to Blackmist Forest."
"Were there any survivors?"
"Not many."
"Take me to them."
"Follow me, sir."
Prince Koda, Dan, and a couple of other men left their campsite and went to the survivor's camp.
Dan was right, there weren't many left. The survivors were in bad shape. Men were laid out all over the ground either dead or close to it. Covered in blood and ash, missing body parts, half or mostly burnt; these men should be put out of their messier.
"If they have no chance, give them a quick death," Koda instructed his men.
Koda continued to follow Dan to the only made-up tent.
"We're already a day behind, if we don't move now, it'll be too late." A beastman raised his voice.
They walked in on the others discussing the rogue's movement. Koda was surprised to see Ryker slumped over leaning against the wall.
He walked over to him, "What are you doing here? Where is Lyria?" Koda almost sounded panicked. He did not have a good feeling in his gut when he saw Ryker the way he was.
"All the females were either killed or taken. I have been asking around to see if anyone has seen Lyria and no one has. I have no idea where she is."
"She was last with Sunny where is he at?"
"A large number of rogues went for the warehouse where all the females were hiding. It was like they knew exactly where to go. I believe we have a traitor among our people. Also, Sunny and Liam are dead. They did their best to protect the warehouse but were overpowered in number. My brothers are dead. Mal is around here somewhere but he's wounded as well. The rogues were waiting at the bottom of the mountain. The first ones down were ambushed and killed or knocked out to be a slave. My father's body was found shredded everywhere. Lyria and Pat were one of the first ones down the mountain. I could not sniff out either of their scents. I have no clue where they are, but I think the most possible place is with the rogues. And if they have seen her with her veil off, I don't even want to begin to think of what's happening to her." Ryker puts his head down and has his hands balled into fists squeezing hard in anger and frustration.
Koda felt at a loss as well. The rogue population has been getting out of control but so has the females. It's because of them we have so many rogues. It's also because of females I didn't want a mate either till I met Lyria. He had to find her.
His mind was made up and he will achieve his dream to get her back by his side.
