Four days later Lyria finally showed signs of waking up. The healer had been beaten every day that she had not woken up. No matter how he tried to explain that she needed sleep to finish recovering the king didn't care he wanted the female to magically heal and be all new.
"Hmmm." A low moan could be heard from her. At least she's not going to die. The healer watched her eyelids move quickly as she was trying to wake herself up.
Sadly, this just happens to be the time the king walks in.
He looked at his still-sleeping beauty and was angered that she was still not awake.
"Why is she still asleep." He spat furiously. He went up and grabbed him by the throat.
"She's trying to wake up now your majesty." He wheezed out.
He looked down at Lyria again and she was already awake looking at them curiously. He dropped the healer and slithered to Lyria's side.
"How are you feeling my love." Those words made her shiver in disgust. On the other hand, the king thought she liked it.
"My head hurts and I feel sore but I'm okay." She did feel a lot better now.
"That's good you can continue to rest today but tomorrow you'll be back at my side." He patted her head, got up, and walked away.
"What was that about?"
"He's upset because his new chosen was unconscious and wasn't waking up. He also doesn't understand how the body works and isn't a patient man."
"How long was I out?"
"Four days and nights. This is going on day five if you didn't wake up today."
"So how am I doing?"
"You had several bruises, cuts and were very exhausted, dehydrated, and malnourished, which reminds me. I'll be right back with some light food and water."
I'll just close my eyes again till he comes back.
About an hour later the healer walks back in and sees the young female asleep again.
"Little female wake up. You need to eat this before it gets cold."
"Mmmmm, I don't want to get up."
"I know but this will help you feel better."
Lyria slowly sat up and took the bowl of medicine. She took one bite and almost threw up it was so bad.
"What is this?"
"Your meal and medicine mixed together."
"It's really bad." There was an odd taste to it. There is Elk leaf in this, but why would he put this in when it's for calming the pains of heat?
"Why did you add Elk leaf? The other ingredients aren't bad but mine would've been better." Why did I just brag like that I don't need others finding out I know medicine.
"Because the claim mark on your shoulder got inflamed and threw off your hormones. Just to be on the safe side for the next couple of days I think you should take Elk leaf so you don't go into heat too soon. It could make it where you won't be able to have any litters if you're not careful." He gave her a disapproving look.
What he said made sense. I had forgotten I was marked by him.
"Where am I right now?"
"You're on the healer's side of the castle in a spare room." He continued his work ignoring her.
"Can I go outside?"
That reminded the healer of something.
"The marks on your back, what are they?"
"Back home I had just become a priestess and gained my markings to help our people."
"What can leaves do?"
"I'm a keeper of nature, which is just a fancier way of saying I'm really good with all plants."
"Interesting." He went to the door and came back in with the gorilla slave Silver I believe was his name.
"This is the slave that will be at your call anytime. He will help you outside."
"Thank you."
