"I am sorry for letting them escape with the money." I said to Javier.
After meeting Javier, we went inside the inn. The inn has three floors. The first floor is a bar open for people, and the remaining floors are guest rooms. We are currently sitting at the bar, on chairs across the table from each other.
"Forget about that." He said and ordered food for us. It looked as if he didn't even care about the money being stolen.
"Aren't you worried about our money?" I asked with an angry tone in my voice.
"I am not." He said. I was surprised at his words. How could he not care about the money? How will we reach the academy now?
"I have decided that you will go back to the mansion. You are really not fit for being a knight." He said as a waitress gave us our food. Roasted meat along with two glasses of beers.
"Didn't father tell you!? If I don't become a high-ranking knight, I'll have to become a strategist instead!!" I shouted.
The bar was not packed by people but those who were there looked at us.
"I will tell the truth but you can't become a high-ranking knight even if you work your whole life. At the most, you can become a footsman and that is equivalent to standing on a dragon's tail. The large dragon may not notice the small you but there's always a high risk of it finally finding you." He said as he calmy started eating his food bite by bite.
"Don't give me that crap. Your job is to leave me at the Academy and also call me Lord Davien." I said calmly as I didn't want people to think that we are having a fight.
"My job 'was' to leave you at the Academy but you lost the coins which your father had given to you. Our carriage is gone, money too and you expect me to drop you at the Academy? I am sorry but I am out of this job." He said as he drank a gulp of his beer.
"If I reach home, then I will really make sure that you are kicked out." I said.
"Believe me he won't." He said as he gave ten bronze coins to the woman.
He then turned towards me with a serious look.
"If you want to go back, then come with me or else do whatever you want." He said as he left the bar and I was left, sitting there on the chair.
I didn't know what to do at that moment. There was absolutely no option for me to go back. I don't even have the money to go to the Academy.
I massaged my head and calmed myself down. I should eat this meal first.
I looked at the meat and beer which Javier had bought for me. I don't have any money right now, so this could be the last good meal I can have in a few days.
I started eating and also making plans for my next action.
