Chapter 31 - The Magical Effect of Zombie Bone Powder

After coming up with a decision, Morty immediately wanted to discuss it with Rebecca, but when he thought of what had just happened, he changed his mind.

"I'll ask her tomorrow."

...

The next morning, Morty asked the maid for a piece of clothing and knocked on Rebecca's door.

"Rebecca."

Rustling sounds came from the other side. Soon, the door opened a crack, and Rebecca stuck her head out.

"What?"

Through the crack in the door, Morty could see that the girl was wrapped in a blanket. Her clothes from before had been left in the forest, and she was probably not wearing anything under the blanket.

He handed over the clothes in his hand and said, "I brought you some clothes. Also, can you please use the magic broom to bring me to the forest? Let's take a look at the place where we cut down the trees yesterday."

"You want to find those logs?" Rebecca took the clothes and asked.

"Yes." Morty had no intention of hiding anything.

"Are you crazy?" Rebecca looked at him like he was an idiot. "There are zombies everywhere."

"I know." Morty shrugged helplessly. "I'm just going to take a look. If that place is still occupied by zombies, then forget it."

"Alright then," Rebecca didn't hesitate and nodded in agreement. However, she made a suggestion, "Why didn't you bring your Magic Pea? You should have a flower pot, no?"

After saying that, she closed the door and went to wear her new clothes, leaving Morty standing there with a shocked expression.

That's right, why didn't he think of that?

The corn was too big to be planted in a flower pot, but the peas were different.

If he could bring a pot of peas with him, would he need to fear those zombies, right?

There was no need to fear!

At the thought of this, Morty became excited. He quickly ran to the cellar and took out a flower pot. Then, he ran to the courtyard. The corpses outside had been burned to ashes by the two maids. Only the ashes were left on the ground.

Looking at the "remains" on the ground, Morty suddenly had an idea.

"I wonder if the bone powder of these zombies can be used as fertilizer?"

Thinking of this, he carefully took some ashes from the ground and quickly went to the field to scatter some on one of the peas.

Under the anxious and expectant gazes, an unbelievable scene happened.

The pea that had been sprinkled with zombie bone powder first trembled slightly, then it grew a few sections at a speed visible to the naked eye. It even split into new branches and quickly produced pea pods. The pea seeds inside were full, far more than before.

"This, this…"

The scene surprised and delighted Morty. The effect of the zombie bone dust was far beyond his imagination. He looked up at his surroundings. The bone dust on the ground seemed to be waving at him like gold.

"With this bone powder, I can produce a large number of crops in a short period. This way, I'll have money to expand the manor."

With that idea in mind, Morty immediately stood up and picked up the tools to collect the bone powder on the ground.

Unfortunately, most of the bone powder had already flown into the forest after a night of wind. After Morty collected all the bone powder, it only managed to fill half a sack, which made him feel a little regretful.

"What are you doing?"

Rebecca's puzzled voice came from behind.

"Nothing." Morty shook his head with a smile as he turned around to face her.

"Strange," Rebecca mumbled, then walked to the corner and picked up the broom.

"All aboard," Rebecca sat on the broom and gestured behind her.

Morty dusted off his hands and tied the pot of peas behind him. Then, he walked forward and grabbed the wooden handle of the broom with both hands, asking curiously, "Why is this thing–"

"Take off!"

Without waiting for him to finish, Rebecca let out a low shout, and the broom under her suddenly trembled. In the next second, it soared into the sky.

"F*ck, f*ck, f*ck!"

The sudden turn of events made Morty's hands a little flustered. Almost subconsciously, she reached out and hugged Rebecca in front of him.

Rebecca's body stiffened. The broom stopped rising and stopped steadily in midair.

Morty slowly opened his eyes and looked down. He suddenly felt dizzy. In just an instant, they were already dozens of meters above the ground. What supported the two of them was a tiny broom.

"This is really…"

Morty took a deep breath and calmed his rapidly beating heart. Only then did he realize that his palms were holding onto something soft and he could not help but pinch them gently.

"Ah, you…"

Rebecca bit her lips, her body trembling. She turned around and reprimanded, "What are you doing? Why aren't you letting go?"

Noticing her blushing face, Morty also realized that he had pressed his hand where he shouldn't have. He smiled awkwardly and silently pulled his hand away from her.

Rebecca glared at him and warned, "Hold on to the broom. If you take advantage of me again, I'll throw you off!"

"Alright." How could Morty dare to refuse? He grabbed the broom tightly. At this height, if he fell… Well, he could imagine the outcome.

Whoosh—

The broom set off again, so fast that Morty couldn't even see the scene below.

The two of them had walked for half an hour yesterday, but now it only took less than three minutes. Morty saw the clear spring below and was secretly shocked. This thing was simply too convenient.

When they arrived at their destination, Rebecca wanted to land immediately, but Morty stopped her.

"There's no hurry. Let's observe our surroundings first."

After yesterday's sneak attack, he felt that zombies were wandering around, and there were quite a number of them. Before going down, it was necessary to check.

Rebecca did as she was told and controlled the broom to hover in the air while Morty looked around the forest below.

Soon, he saw a blackened figure staggering forward from the bushes.

"There are still zombies lurking around."

Morty muttered. Then, he discovered a second one, a third one...

After circling a few times, Morty found a total of seven zombies.

Seven zombies should not be difficult to deal with.

Morty touched the flower pot on his back. With this pea, there shouldn't be any danger.

"Let's land."

Rebecca nodded and controlled the broom to descend. At the same time, she began to prepare her Wind Blade spell. She wanted to finish off the zombies before they could summon their companions.

The broom slowly descended. The zombies on the ground twitched their noses and suddenly turned around.

"Not good, we've been discovered!"

Morty's expression was solemn. He didn't expect this creature to have such a sensitive sense of smell.

"What should we do?" Rebecca asked, "Should we make a move?"

Morty gritted his teeth. If he attacked now and couldn't get rid of all the zombies quickly, the past would repeat itself. He couldn't take the risk.

"Let's retreat first—"

Before he could finish, the peas behind him suddenly shook. With a series of popping sounds, the densely packed peas flew out and rushed toward the zombies on the ground.

In the blink of an eye, several small holes appeared on the heads of the seven zombies. They fell heavily to the ground and died before they could even make a sound.

"Wow, this thing can even take the initiative to attack?"
