Chereads / Farming With Seven Wives in the Magic World / Chapter 37 - Harvest in The Forest

Chapter 37 - Harvest in The Forest

For the first time, Morty felt a little inferior. This was something he had never felt before when he was facing Leona.

Although Leona's identity was extraordinary, Morty had always treated her as a woman who could fight. Rebecca was different. Just her identity as a mage meant that it was impossible between the two of them.

Originally, he wanted to try to fight for it. After all, he could feel that Rebecca also had a good impression of him.

But now, it seemed that there was no possibility between the two of them.

Why would the number one genius of the Guild of Magic fancy a poor manor owner like him?

Even if Rebecca liked him, the higher-ups of the Guild of Magic would not agree.

Sighing, Morty shook his head and smiled bitterly. It was better not to dwell so much time on this and just focus on farming his own land.

Thinking of this, Morty said goodbye to the innkeeper, "Old man, I'm going back. Thank you for your hospitality."

The old man waved his hand. "You're too kind, little brother. As long as I'm alive, you're welcome to come anytime."

"Definitely." Morty nodded and turned to Celia with a smile. "Let's go, Celia. I'll escort you back."

Celia opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but she didn't say anything in the end and followed him silently.

The two of them returned to the medicine shop. Just as Morty was about to leave, her arm suddenly tightened.

"Wait a minute."

Celia said softly.

"Yes?" Morty turned around. "Is there anything else you need?"

"Uhm..." Celia hesitated for a moment and blushed. She bit her lips and said seriously, "Hero, will we still have a chance to meet?"

Morty was stunned. Under the sunlight, the girl's eyes were filled with anticipation.

Without any hesitation, he smiled and nodded. "We will."

Whether it was to sell crops or buy food in the future, he would have to come to this town again. There were still many opportunities for the two to meet.

Celia smiled and nodded. "Okay! See you next time!"

Morty waved his hand and walked out of the town.

Two people came to town and only one returned. Morty felt a little lonely.

"But that's good. I can consider expanding the farm."

Thinking of this, Morty became spirited again and returned in the direction he came from.

After learning about the pea's attack power, the forest that was originally filled with danger was no longer so terrifying.

After killing five zombies, three forest pigs, and a two-headed wolf, Morty returned to the manor.

Looking at the "spoils of war" in his hands, while he was delighted, he couldn't help but feel a lingering fear in his heart.

"I was lucky that the peas that have been nurtured by the Zombie Bone Powder have strong attack power and high attack speed. Otherwise, I would've been in real trouble this time."

The seven zombies did not pose much of a threat. After all, they did not appear in groups. The real threat was the two-headed wolf.

Not only did this creature attack quickly, but it also moved like a soundless ghost. By the time Morty noticed the creature, it had already quietly arrived less than five meters behind him. If it wasn't for pea's protective behavior, Morty was sure that he wouldn't have known who killed him until the moment he died.

What was even more terrifying was that after the two-headed wolf's head was pierced through by the pea, not only did it not die, but it also quickly fled and hid in the forest. The tenacity of its vitality made Morty speechless.

He had thought that the creature would escape after being severely injured, but it was obvious that he had underestimated the two-headed wolf's vengeful nature.

In the following journey, the two-headed wolf launched a total of three attacks, each more dangerous than the previous one. The third attack was the most terrifying. It actually dodged the pea's first attack and came in front of Morty. Its sharp claws almost cut his throat. Fortunately, the pea launched another attack. This time, the two-headed wolf could not avoid it. Its head was pierced through and it could not be more dead.

"Looks like I have to be careful when I enter the forest in the future."

Morty muttered. Zombies weren't the only threat in the forest. With his current combat strength, any random ferocious beast would put his life in danger.

"Young Master, you're back."

Two maids came out to welcome him happily.

"Yes." Morty nodded and smiled. Then, he threw the corpses of the two-headed wolf and wild boar tied behind him on the ground and ordered, "Treat these pork and wolf meat. We will have meat for our next meal."

"Yes, Young Master!"

The two maids were very happy. They were bought by the old master of the manor. Logically speaking, they could only serve the young master for the rest of their lives until his death. During this period, they should not make any requests, let alone complain. However, Morty was very approachable, so they did not get along like masters and servants, but more like friends.

The two of them happily dragged the wild boar and the two-headed wolf's body and went straight to the well behind the manor.

After the two of them left, Morty took an ax and went outside the manor. The zombies he had killed along the way were piled up outside the fence. He had spent a lot of effort dragging these corpses back. The reason why he did not bring them into the manor was that he was afraid of scaring the two maids.

After chopping the corpse into pieces with the ax in his hand, Morty dug a hole in the ground and threw all the pieces into it before setting it on fire.

When the fire was extinguished, he immediately found a gunny sack and put the bone powder at the bottom of the pit into it.

"These are all good stuff."

Looking at the half-bag of bone powder in his hand, Morty could not help but sigh. With these things, he could completely open up more land and plant more plants. However...
