"Come on!" I shouted at my brother who's been laying like a corpse on the ground.
Of course this idiot won't get up!
I clenched my fist as I grabbed him by the arm and practically threw him into the wagon.
"Dude~ that hurt!" He whined as he sat up
I glared at him
"I don't remember asking!" I crossed arms and raised an eyebrow
"Theo, Stephen stop fighting" Beatrice said sternly as she scrunched her eyebrows for a moment before relaxing her face again.
Stephen and I quickly closed our mouths before frowning at each other. I looked out of the wagon and just mindlessly stared at the ground, I noticed many colorful flowers! They were very pretty I thought, it made me smile just by looking at them.
Soon it was getting dark and we were only a few more miles from a nearby kingdom, so we decided to head to the kingdom first and settle in an inn for a few nights.
As soon as we arrived we were all too tired to even walk, I almost hit my against a brick wall if it weren't for Beatrice grabbing my arm and pulling me in the correct direction.
I silently let out a small sighed as we entered the inn. I looked around and noticed the place looked very cozy~ and I appreciated that, it felt warm and welcoming at the very least.
After registering, all of us hurried to our room which was located in the upper part of the inn. After rushing up the stairs my legs felt like they could collapse any second now,
"We'll go exploring in the morning. We will stay here for… 7 nights." My mother said practically mumbling and trying hard to battle her sleepiness.
We all nodded before changing our clothes and heading to bed. I jumped onto my bed and seemed to instantly blackout.
I woke up to a smell of cooked bacon I rubbed my eyes and hopped out of bed and fixing it I noticed that the smell was coming from the kitchen and I decided to peek in.
Woah! Bacon and eggs~ It's my lucky day!
I hurried into the bathroom and quickly got ready to go out after breakfast. As soon as I opened the door I saw Stephen outside leaning against a wall waiting to use the bathroom.
"What are you smiling about?" He questioned as he pointed at me
"Bacon and eggs for breakfast~" I hummed as I danced to the kitchen. After we all met in the kitchen we all quickly ate so we had lots of time to go out for a bit after.
The three of us got some spending money to buy some stuff we like. After getting my spending money, I cheerfully walked to the nearby market place.
I wandered around the marketplace until my eye spotted a simple looking wood carving shop. Outside I stared at it for a bit before deciding to go in.
If you don't know me~ then you wouldn't know that I love anything handmade! It always gave the items a nice touch in my opinion.
As I opened the door a bell jingled above me and I was greeted by the shops owner.
"Hello there boy! What brings you in?" He said in a cheery tone
"Hello!" I said as I put on a smile,
"It just caught my eye~" I added as I scanned the shop
"We'll have a look around. Ask me if you need help!" He smiled before greeting the next customer
I looked around before hearing a bunch of people swarming into the store. I turned my head to see…?!
I stared with wide eyes frozen in place. He seemed to notice me staring because he snapped his head to look at me with an annoyedly upset expression on his face, and as soon as I saw that expression I flinched.
His expression seemed to suddenly change when he looked at me more, he turned around to see me and I just nervously smiled and fiddled with my fingers.
"Theo..?" He said gently, his expression turning into shock.
I widened my eyes again as I looked back, "Marius! You remembered!" My face broke out in a grin
I quickly walked to him before getting stopped in the middle by some guards.
"..huh?" I said confused as I looked up at the guards
A moment later Marius came over and pushed the guards away with an annoyed expression pressed on his face.
"Sorry about that." He ticked as he looked at one of the guards
"Oh, uh no worries" I shook my hand
Silence filled the store for a second before I continued
"But um are you like a noble now or something?" I questioned pointing at one of the guards
Marius glanced at the guards before asking "Can you stand outside of the store for a moment." He finished with a sigh
The guards looked at each other before nodding and headed out
Marius waited for the door to close before he continued, "no, I'm part of the 'royal family' now" he rolled his eyes
"Woah! Seriously?" I said in amazement
"That's so cool!" I added while my hands were to my side balled into fists
"Not really." He said annoyed
I looked at him in confusion before he gestured for my ear, I leaned closer
"They treat me like a damn object! They only accepted me for their stupid reputation!" He said eyes filled with rage as he backed away from my ear
"Bu.. but what about your parents did they do anything to help you?" I whispered back and furrowed my eyebrows.
I saw him clench his jaw while the light in his eyes soon faded, "They couldn't.. they were killed." He said now extremely upset
I stared at him in shock before holding out my arms. He stared at them before embracing me, I patted his back until he felt better.
I heard Marius sigh before pulling away from my embrace, "thanks.." he mumbled
I nodded before asking, "uhm, so what brought you here?" I said trying to change the subject
"Ah.. I wanted to give you a gift.." he said flustered
I smiled as I saw light come back in his eyes again
"Oh! Right, I didn't respond to your last letter, sorry!" I realized as I started to sweat like I was in the oven.
"It's fine, it's fine!" He chuckled waving both his hands
Seeing him laugh like that I couldn't help but laugh myself.
After that we decided to explore the place for a bit and just catch up with each other's life and just boring stuff like old times.
