Chapter 2 - Crimson The Dragon

In front of me a wasteland stretched wide. As far as my eyes could see, I did not see any living things including plants such as trees.

Apparently it would be very difficult to get food like fruit in this wasteland. Even if I encountered a monster and was able to defeat it, I who had never taken a cattle slaughtering course would find it very difficult to cook it plus I don't have any equipment to do that.

Thinking for a moment I remembered that ever since I first tied a contract with the six-winged red lightning dragon I had never summoned it out. I think this is the right time to summon it and harness its power.

I who didn't know how to summon my dragon finally tried to summon it while draining the remnants of my mana.

Fortunately I only need 10 points of mana to summon the six-winged red lightning dragon from its own dimension. At least I still have 10 points left in my mana pool.

For the second time the sky parted again in circle. But different from before, this time there was no red light that pierced the sky nor the giant eye that looking at me without blinking. This time what came out of the dimension was a six-winged red lightning dragon.

With a thunderous roar the dragon flew around the sky for a while before landing on the ground right in front of me. Its appearance is so cool and looks domineering. Its entire body was covered in blood-red scales and so did its pupils.

The six-winged red lightning dragon also had a pair of horns that curved high upwards. Has a height of a coconut tree with six wings that can create a storms. I am like an ant before the dragon.

For a moment a thought popped into my mind.

"It won't eat me right?"

I immediately eliminated that thought because we were both bound by a soul contract.

"Uhum, did you know who I am?" I ask for an insurance.

"Of course master. You are my master. Both of us bound by a sacred soul contract of a summoner."

I'm sure when it answered my question the way it looked at me was like saying is there something wrong with my brain?

To change the subject, I asked it about its name. calling it as six-winged red lightning dragon was extremely long and tiring. So if it has a short name then I'll call it with its own name instead of its species.

"I don't have a name like a human master." Said the dragon while shaking its head.

"What if I give you a name?"

"Do you mind?"

Listen to my two questions, unexpectedly the dragon looks so happy. I could tell by its wagging tail like a dog. Secretly I was amazed by the power that the dragon has. Two large and pointed stones instantly flattened with just a few flicks of its tail.

"Getting a name from master is an honor for me." It's said while looking at me expectantly.

"How about Crimson?"

I choose Crimson as its name with a simple explanation. Its scales blood-red color.

"Thank you master for granting me a wonderfull name."

I nodded in satisfaction while looking at the happy Crimson. Now this is the time for me to use my own dragon for the sake of my survival.

"Crimson, I have a first order for you."

"Tell me your order master. I will complete your order quickly and satisfactorily."

"My first command is to get me up on your head and find a place that has fruit to eat. I feel that if I don't eat, soon I will die from hunger and exhaustion."

Soon, after Crimson put my body on top of its head and carried me up into the sky. I deliberately chose its head so I could hold tightly to its horns when it took me flying.

"One more thing. If you see any monsters on the ground kill them with your breath or claws and only stop when we have reached our destination."

That way I can raise my level a bit with Crimson's help. After all Crimson's power is my power too. So when it kills any enemy when I've summoned it from its own dimension my level also increases by itself.

Like what just happened. When Crimson killed a monster, my level increased from 1 to 2 and the point capacity in my mana pool increased from 100 to 110.

Maybe when I arrive at the destination later my level will have increased quite a lot. For the first time I feel happy to endure hunger and fatigue. But I understand that I cannot rely solely on Crimson. I also have to train Crimson abilities that I can use according to my current level. There are times when I can't rely on Crimson and if I can't solve problems without Crimson then I'm done for.

In the end Crimson's final destination wasn't a forest full of fruit trees like I thought before but a village located on the border between the wasteland and grassland.

I didn't give details of where Crimson could find the fruit so the choice of destination wasn't wrong. In fact it will be better as long as there is human civilization then I can trade. If I can't buy using money then I will use my services instead.

I'm sure summoners have a high status in the eyes of the people especially the villagers. Even I have a legendary dragon as my contracted creature. Doesn't that mean my status is higher than other summoners?

Don't misunderstand me. I am not a protagonist who hides his true abilities. On the other hand, I'm the type of person who dares to display various powers or wealth to gain status in society as long as it can make my life better.

"We have arrived master."

I don't know what was in the minds of the villagers when they saw a dragon with six wings hovering above the sky with a body that even covered the sunlight. One thing I know, if they were sane they woudn't dare to attack me without explanation. Moreover my purpose coming to the village was not to loot but to buy food and drink.

"Get down. I will go to the village alone. Thanks to you killing those monsters, now my current level is 10."

Crimson nods understandingly following my orders while I start walking through the village gate alone.
