TINA
A knock on the door woke me up, better than the ignored ringing of my alarm clock. I sat up and wiped my eyes from any dirt and marched to the door. If there’s someone who would disrupt my sleep this early, I know it’s either one of the house help or Sir Jiego’s butler acting on his behalf. It is because of that presumption that I didn’t bother to comb my hair or wash my face first. This will only be quick. Perhaps only a message or a cup of coffee delivered to my room.
“I came to invite you to breakfast, Tina.”
My eyes widened when suddenly, all of my nerves woke up. I was wrong. What I just said on the possible person who’ll disrupt my slumber, it was wrong. It was Sir Jiego himself, all ready for work. Wow. Of all the times I saw him as an early bird, this is the earliest among those.
He eyed me up and down, frowning.
“I’m sorry, sir. I didn’t mean to oversleep.” – I said, stepping back from him. Darn. What if he smells my morning breath?
