Lucus ran with all the strength he had with him, as his sorcerer's sense of smell lead him to the sea. Lucus was terribly frightened, what could be wrong with Anna? He would never be able to forgive himself if anything happens to her. With every step he took, his heart pounded heavier, skipping some beats at regular intervals.
Lucus finally came to the sea shore where Anna lay just a step from her death. She was about to be strangled by the multiple snake-like tongues of the sea monster. Lucus recognizes the beast immediately from its tongue that entangled Anna from the description in his books.
It was the beast of the underworld. Lucus remembers that he was banished to that part by the king and his cabinet members so they would be devoured by the legendary beast but it turned out Lucis to be only a folk tale until today.
Lucus had to act fast, time was his greatest asset and also his greatest enemy. He tried to remember everything he had read about the beast but nothing seemed to be forthcoming. He was under great pressure and the only thing he had with him was his sorcerer spirit and his instincts. But he also remembered one thing, the monster's greatest weakness was land and it could restore any detached part of its body in multiple folds while it was in the sea.
Lucus knew he would have to break the last rule. He had to destroy those tongues rolled around Anna, that was the only way to save Anna right now. But he didn't have any weapons with him. After what he did today to save Victoria, he had weakened his sorcerer spirit and he also knew that the sea monster had a strong sense of magic and also a way of repealing any magic attempt against it except on some few occasions when such a spell had divine backing, such was irrevocable. "Good to know that I still have a working brain," he smiled to himself.
"What do I do now, use magic and provoke the beast or..." A strange sight interrupted his thoughts. It was a rusty sword, lying right beside a stool-like rock. That was exactly what he needed right now. Quickly, Lucus reached out to the sword and headed for the beast that was strangling Anna. Skillfully, Lucus aimed his weapon in such a way that it will untangle Anna without hurting her. As his sword met with its target, black blood dominated the surface of the water, and Anna lay under it an inconvenience.
Lucus drew Anna away from the water to land. He knew it wasn't over, he had only provoked the sea beast and he had to get away from that water before it re forced and attacked them. Lucus placed Anna on his shoulders and led her to a far land, away from the water. But Anna was still unconscious. She had drunk too much water.
With his hands gently placed on her chest, Lucus pressed gently until Anna coughed out the water in her stomach. But she still did not lift an eyebrow. Lucus was frightened. He ran out quickly to the woods in search of a special leaf that got the magical effect to wake an unconscious person, Anna life depended on it. But he could not find it. He wished he could slow down time but he knew that was impossible. Not even the greatest sorcerer on earth could slow down time.
He saw the leaf under the truck of a dead tree. He let out a sigh of relief and reached out to the leaf
Lucus returned with the leaf and placed it close to Anna's nose. Anna coughed lightly and gradually opened her eyes. "Daddy," she said softly as a tear escaped from her eyes.
"Don't say a word," Lucus urged. I don't know what would have happened to me if I had lost you," Lucus said and hugged her. Tears flowing freely from the depths of his heart
"Daddy," Anna said again but this time, there was fear and alarm in her eyes. Lucus could see it and he knew immediately that something was wrong there was trouble but he could not is anything.
"Dad behind you," Anna screamed with all the strength she had in her as her voice gradually came back to her but it was too late. A slimy robe coiled around Lucus's neck drawing him back to the water. "Lucus's face was pale and his facial expressions spoke of fear. The tongue of the beast had the power to gradually drain life from its victim. Anna froze as Lucus struggled with the long tongue of the sea monster but he could not break the tie. He was trapped and he struggled to breathe, his face growing paler by the minute.
"No," Anna screamed trying hard to reach out to her father but she could not get up, she was too weak.
"Run, Anna, Run," Lucus struggled to say still struggling with the monster.
"I am not going anywhere father," I will die with you. Even death can't separate you from me."
"No Anna, you have to run. You have a bright future ahead of you, leave this place now," Lucus coughed.
"I am not going anywhere, father. I am not a child, I know what is best for me," Anna returned tears already flowing freely from her eyes.
As the beast drew Lucus closer to the water, it emerged fully to the surface of the sea. Anna's lips split apart in astonishment. The beast was more dreaded than it was described to her, it was beyond comparison. It had over a thousand tongues and a long tail that slapped the surface of the water at regular intervals. It was indeed a beast of the underworld. And this beast got her father, the only one she had in the world.
The beast drew Lucus into the water and held him with its multiple tongues, ready to devour him. Anna let out a scream.
