Chapter 10 - 10-Darkness Prevailing

THE DARK NIGHTS

The dark dust lead Helena and her brother to the waiting room and they parted the door open with a single push. Priest Garka sat with his eyes facing the opposite direction. But with his spiritual eyes, he could see everything happening behind him.

"What do you seek," the priest inquired with his eyes still closed.

"Your head," Gregon replied.

"Come get it," the priest returned.

"With due pleasure."

Garka struck the floor of the temple violently with his official staff which had been lying lonely on the floor and the whole place began to shake violently. The two dark siblings could no longer maintain their balance as they shook violently.

The priest did this to distract the dark siblings from being able to counter the spell he was going to cast next. His lips moved in a very fast motion and a blue light formed around his staff. The blue air from the staff, moved swiftly towards the dark siblings, moving from their feet to their heads. As it moved the place began to calm and they started freezing.

They froze from their legs to their head. The chief priest sighed as got up from his seating position and headed toward the two siblings. " Who could they be," he thought in his head. He had attacked them this way because he didn't want them dead, he needed to know who they were and what was their mission in Mogablaka.

The spell he just used for them looked childish but it was a difficult spell to be courted and it was irrevocable. It was the first spell he learned from his master and non of his other pupils could expect one the pupils. Expect one.

The words of his thoughts flowed. Was this an attempt by another tribe to spring up a war knowing full wall that one just ended? And which tribe had such dark powers? The darkdomites have been destroyed or had any tribe decided to follow their lead in practicing dark acts, knowing full well it's danger just to get the control of the empire.

As he advanced closer. The ice around the dark siblings shattered like glass. The priest parted his lips in amazement. There was only one person who could counter that spell. He had seen her doing it along the way though he couldn't capture her face. But she was supposed to be dead, all the darkdomities were.

Or was there something else that the world did not know about? Where is the darkdomitie back? Was it all a deception? There was only one way to find out, he had to destabilize these people and get the information he needed from them. The world was still in danger and no one knew. They had lived until the gates opened to their enemies.

"Are you scared," Helena shot a dead look at the priest.

"How did you do that," the priest inquired. The question just voiced out itself no matter how hard he tried to restrain it. Was she the girl she saw that day courting is personally invited spell, he couldn't help but imagine?

"You don't remember me right? But I am sure you will remember the night when you were forming this spell through the power of the moon God. You remember that night right?"

"Yes I do," the priest replied.

"What other things do you remember about that night," Helena inquired.

"So what my guardian spirit had a sensation about was true, I was being spied on."

"Yes, my demon pet, a little bird was spying on you."

"You might have gotten that but you can never be able to get me this time," the priest fired.

"Not if you give you enough time to do that old man," Helena replied as an evil smile hovered on her lips.

Helena and Gregon joined their hands together and began to mutter a spell made by the dark energy of the dark order. As the spell formed, the place became dead dark.

A dark force advanced from their joined hands. As the force advanced toward priest Garka, he quickly created a shield of ice and the dark force hit the shield so forcefully in such a way that the guardian spirit of the priest was weakened.

But the force didn't stop there. The priest tried to draw back the shield spell but he couldn't. He had just lost control over his spell. The dark force began to spread all over the shield until it was totally black. Immediately after this, the priest's eye's turned black and the black shield began to drain all the magic energy he had until he had no single energy in him. Then, he fell to the floor without single energy in him.

The shield was what the dark duo needed to drain his powers and he fell for it, anyone would have fell for it. The two siblings looked at themselves and laughed a little The first person on their list has just been sucked dry of his energy. Now the second step was going to be dreadful.

"We are allowing you to watch how your beloved kingdom is going to fall to the darkdomitis," Helena laughed evilly.

The priest couldn't do anything but smile and watches the dark duo. He was so weak that he couldn't even move and his body ached all over. He felt like crying. He was now like other ordinary humans with no energy. It would be better if they just end his life than leave him that way.

He continued watching as Helena drew an ancient spell around her brother with his dark energy. As he watch, a dark light formed around Gregon. The light was so dark that the priest shut his ears to his scream. He couldn't imagine what was happening to the young man.

A few minutes later, the scream and storm ended and priest Garka frightfully opened his eyes. And before him was his photocopy. The priest's lips parted in amazement. This was the very reason why the world had tried to stop the darkdomites. Any demon they brought out of the spirit portal exchanged a spelling with them for their freedom and the human host. In most cases, such spells would not work since they had to attain a certain level of spirituality to be able to cast the spell. But in other cases when a human is able to cast such spells as this, the outcome was deadly.

The priest was now aware of what the dark siblings had in mind. The kingdom was actually in trouble. He had to warn somebody. He had to warn lucus, the head of royal sorcerers. He had to get his spirit animal from within him.

All the priests before him were birth with Spirit animals. But when he was born, his spirit animal was declared to be within him. He would have to bring it out. But as he grew older, he couldn't get his spirit animal no matter how hard he tried, though he could feel his animal within him. The priest sighed briefly, feeling his breath flow gradually.

He pushed his hand into his flowing priest robe and felt his Guardian Spirit still within him. After years of trying, there was no percent that this was going to work but he would try.

He sighed again feeling the steady beat of his spirit animal. Gradually, he could feel the heartbeat of his spirit animal growing faster. He was scared, what if the spirit animal turned out to be a turtle? How is it going to escape these people.
