Gyun scanned the barcode on the paper slip before sitting into the capsules seat and fit the headset over his head.
He turned on the headset and entered the game without much issue, he sat back and relaxed as the feeling of connecting to the game washed over him and he logged in to his account.
"Welcome back adventurer"
Gyun heard as he appeared back in the all white room, as the voice of the old man character came from behind him.
Gyun turned around to face the voice, the old white robed man was there, he spoke as Gyun made eye contact with him.
"Where would you like to go?"
The character said as he waved his hand and a pair of semi translucent windows appeared. One showing the world that Gyun was on for his starter mission Solaron. And another the world Mir, meant for being just a safe world for introducing players to the game and being a planet for gatherings.
Gyun selected Mir out of curiosity, he had already cleared the mission that was meant to take several hours and tries on his first attempt.
He was a bit curious how the difficulty would increase as the white room disappeared and faded to black momentarily before he appeared in a bright cyber punk styled city with bright neon lights decorating the buildings as a soft rain fell from the sky.
It was as aesthetic as any place Gyun had ever seen the graphics were breathtaking, but while Gyun admired the breathtaking scenery. It only lasted a moment however as a game window appeared in front of him,

-Interesting, but what I'm interested in is the dueling function-
Gyun pulled up the map of the world, he noted that he was in the capital of Mir, Night City. he zoomed in to the city searching for a building in particular.
It didn't take long to find it as it was a massive coliseum, Gyun heard of it from Juwon during their MMA watch party.
It was a function where you could duel other players in a 1vs1 with weapons or without weapons or guns. There was a ranking system, that publicly displayed the top 500 players in the server, with a world leaderboard ranking in addition, there were no level caps as level didn't affect anything besides a players ability to access certain areas and wear certain gear.

Gyun purchased a cheap all black ballistic mask, that he thought contrasted with his already all black default ronin character trench coat, and pants.
Gyun valued his privacy and since it was possible to turn on anonymity mode and make his name tag anonymous, he would rather maintain his anonymity.
As he equipped the mask, he entered the coliseums lobby a game window appeared in front of him,
'Welcome to Night City's Coliseum here you can fight players across the server, enter the ranked mode to gain GP or gladiator points to rise in the ranks.'
Underneath were the 6 different modes of duels, with their being a weapon duel, a no weapon duel and a firearm duel. All of them had their ranked counterparts, Gyun pressed the weapon ranked weapon duel.
The window disappeared, as the floating words 'searching....' appeared before shortly after the game faded to black before Gyun appeared on a rooftop across from an opponent but he found he couldn't move at all, as another window popped up,
'Placement match 0/10'
Perform well in your next 10 matches as this will affect your starting rank, you will recieve a score at the end of each match out of 300 based on the speed of the win or loss, the damage received and inflicted, and your caliber of opponent. The higher your score the more GP you receive, best of luck.'
The window only appeared for a few seconds before it disappeared as another appeared across from Gyun and the window was replaced by a timer counting down from 3,
The opponents name was hidden but above their head Gyun could see the lv displayed, 4 the person had a alien type skin with the default clothes for a character but had a pair of blue shoes that stood out with the default black trench coat.
As the timer started counting down, the opponent equipped a standard double edged sword, regardless of the class one had to have a weapon.
Gyun read the rules while loading into the match, and it said that all passive skills or buffs are restricted for the duel and only active skills are allowed and if your level is higher then your opponent your level of skills may be restricted to match theirs.
It wouldn't matter regardless though, as the timer hit 1 Gyun dashed forward covering the ten meter distance between the two of them with his sword sheathed. But the opponent instead of drawing his sword shot his hands out forward pointed at Gyun.
Confused for a moment it wasn't until split second after that did Gyun realize that he was still playing a video game. He was sent flying backwards a few feet he managed to roll with the movement and land end up on his feet, drawing his sword he resumed his charge after just a second of being sent flying.
"Oh shi-" His opponent panicked after Gyun's quick recovery and had tried to draw his sword out but failed to do so in time as he was killed with a single stab to the center of the abdomen.
His character registered a death and his character faded away as the words winner were plastered battle ground with the total match time below 0:06 seconds
"It's kind of boring" Gyun said as he pressed the option for another match
"Maybe it'll get funner as I get up higher?"
