Chapter 25 - Chapter 26

"Oh" Gyun watched it for the 3rd time but it didn't get any less brutal, as Sungmin's whole body went stiff as a brutal right counter connect beautifully on Sungmin's jaw causing him fall like a plank and bounce with stiff arms and legs, he handed back Korn his phone.

"That's one of the cleanest knockouts I've ever seen" Hyeon said as he leaned over Korn's shoulder to see the knockout again on his phone.

"So tell me why you guy's felt the need to record your own classmate getting knocked out?" Gyun said with some annoyance

-what happens within the gym and training is meant to be kept within the gym, even if Sungmin deserved to get knocked out he doesn't deserve getting that spread on the internet-

Hyeon seemed to be pretty surprised with Gyun's tone because his bright expression fell slightly, "That guy's a prick and always beating on the newer guys, he beat the shit out of the two of us when we first joined. Trust me nobody's going to feel bad for a fragile ego asshole like him" he said as the trio walked crossed the street.

"Well delete it will you" Gyun said acknowledging the fact that Sungmin was a dick, though there was still a tinge of annoyance in his voice but noticeably less so then before.

Korn looked from his phone, "But the owner is considering booting Sungmin from the program, the only reason Sungmin's been able to hang around this long despite all the shit he pulls is because of his reputation."

Gyun's ears perked up at that, he turned behind him to ask Korn, "I've heard Sungmin's a pro, but how good is he actually?"

Korn continued as he looked back down at his phone typing something,

"He's pretty good at kickboxing but only to an extent he competed a few times in Glory but was booted after he hit stomped on a guys head and caused skull fractures. But his professional record is still 39 and 3, and he kept 7 and 1 record in Glory so he's top notch kickboxer."

Hoyeon cut in

"But he may not be able to compete at the highest level in MMA since he's to old to learn other martial arts but within Apex FC definitely top 3 in the middleweight division he's undefeated out of 8 fights so far but all his opponents are can's (1) anyway he's only faced one legit guy and it went all 3 rounds to decision, so he's got quite a bit of sway in most regional competitions."

"Is there anybody better than him at kickboxing at our gym?" Gyun asked the obvious question first.

Hoyeon shook his head, "Not anyone who trains with us, there was Baek Seoyun but she moved gyms after entering ONE FC, she transitioned into MMA too so she doesn't even compete in Kickboxing anymore so nobody can really humble that prick anymore."

Korn slipped back in the conversation

"From what I heard Sungmin also wanted to transition to MMA but since he's too old to compete at a high level he's gotten even more sour and douchey. He's currently in a decent sized national promotion called APEX FC which is the second largest promotion in Asia, though its still pretty small compared to the real giants like ONE and Legend"

Gyun scratched his neck as he recognized the name, Baek Seoyun, he'd heard of her before at school. She was even a former alumni of his high school, and that girl Chaerin had the same last name so it was likely they were sisters, but Gyun didn't ask to confirm.

Hoyeon instead pointed at a restaurant, "hey how about a little celebration for our Hyung, Gyun for humbling an arrogant asshole? My treat."

Gyun's mouth watered at the thought of the delicious food, " I'm on a diet but I'm not going to turn down free food."

Hoyeon turned to Korn who was trailing behind, " What about you?"

"Nah I've got something to do but maybe some other time" Korn said a bit annoyed

"Tsk... fine see you tomorrow then" Hyeon said kicking the street as he turned to Gyun as they walked into the

"You're doing wrestling after this right?"

"Yeah"

"Me too"

"Oh?" Gyun had a faint smile on his face at that,

---------------------------

4 hours later

"Hahaha fuuuuuck! I can't feel my legs anymore" Hyeon complained massaging his legs as the pair walked out of Zombie MMA.

Gyun gave a light chuckle at that, truth be told he could feel his legs shaking but since he was wearing pants so Hyeon couldn't tell.

"Yeah I can definitely feel it, but its nothing compared to my leg day" Gyun lightly punched Hyeons shoulder as they started walking down the sidewalk. "You should join me for it by the way, it'd help you get some explosiveness in your legs."

"Hell Noooo! its already bad enough with Manshik-sunbae having us practice shooting and stuffing takedowns all of practice. I can't imagine going to the gym after all the martial arts classes, oh wait don't you go to school too?"

"Yeah, it's not that bad, and I don't have to worry about grades to much since I plan on taking the GED in the first place"

"Lucky"

Gyun turned to walk towards the direction toward his home, "see ya"

Hyeon looked a bit disappointed that Gyun was leaving so soon, "oh then see ya" his voice was a bit crestfallen as Gyun turned to walk back home.

After a minute or two of walking Gyun felt an odd sense of alertness, though the path he usually took home was usually not very crowded. It was now suspiciously empty,

Feeling the hairs on the back of his neck rise up as he heard a series of footsteps, Gyun's trained senses differentiated at least 3 sets of footsteps from behind him.

He continued walking but glanced at one of the passing windows and saw a reflection of 3 men following closely behind him, no more then 30 feet behind him, one of whom he recognized.

The men's pace noticeably increased as they got closer to Gyun, Gyun called out to the man he recognized as he turned around.

"Sungmin, what a coincidence to see you on my way home"

The men paused and Sungmins face had a startled expression but he quickly got in under control.

"Yeah, what a coincidence" He said trying to play it off

Gyun took a moment looking at both men up and down, though they were wearing light jackets Gyun could tell they were in shape and trained to a degree. Though their stance was non-confrontational there was a certain tension in the air.

"So what are you here for Sungmin? Is it because of what happened today?"

Sungmin's non-confrontational expression darkened at that, " losing to a nobody like you was bad enough but that shit got leaked to the internet!"

Gyun clicked his tongue at that, -so that was what Korn was doing- , "how's that my problem"

"SHUT THE FUCK UP! I LOST MY SPONSORS BECAUSE OF THAT SHIT! I'M A FUCKING JOKE NOW BECAUSE OF THAT VIDEO! 300,000 IN 4 HOURS! I'M A FUCKING JOKE!"

Sighing, Gyun pulled his hands out of his pockets, "so what did you come to me for"

"I'm a right a wrong, we're going to go round two right now" Sungmin's voice quivered a bit as he calmed down.

Gyun looked at his attire, Sunmin's clothes were disheveled and his eyes were bloodshot, and he was sweating excessively, his behavior was erratic and unhinged as he nodded to one of the men accompanying him as he fumbled to take unzip his jacket.

One word appeared in Gyun's mind as he looked at him, -Drugs-

In addition Gyun noticed a slender outline in Sungmin's pocket that was slightly curved, Gyun's experience told him it was a folding knife. He also noticed the slight stiffness the two men behind Sungmin stood at with them leaning away from a hip. There skin was also a bit pale and their noses were running with dark circles under their eyes

Gyun's attention snapped back to Sungmin as he tossed his jacket on the ground, "Ok pretty boy let's fucking georuough (go), Ferking (fucking) record this you guys" Sungmin's words slurred a bit as he stood a bit off balance in his usual Muay Thai stance, with his hands up high protecting his face, and his on his back leg and light on his front leg.

Glancing between Sungmin and the men behind him who had their phones out recording the exchange, looking at their waists where their clearly some sort of weapon there, Gyun got in a traditional boxing stance.

"Yeeeaaaah there we gooo" Sungmin said as he started to advance forward, he closed the distance carefully keeping his hands near his face.

He slowly got into range but hesitated to attack but Gyun made the decision for him with a straight kick to the stomach below Sungmin's guard pushing him back.

Glancing down at his stomach he chuckled, "Haha little bitch that didn't hu-?"

Sungmin looked up just in time to see Gyun run away at full speed,

"what the fuck?"
