Claudia tugged Alice inside the doorway, and Alice was welcomed by the grand staircase that was the central attention grabber in the open housing plan that had the large kitchen to the left with the living area to the right that had an L-sofa with a television screen mounted up that took up most of the wall space to that side.
It was a beautiful house both on the inside and outside. The exterior of Claudia's house was all white with lots of windows that had black trimming along the edges. It was timeless as it was classy and showcased the natural beauty of the house that still kept the convenience of modern-day life as well as the luxury that was sprinkled throughout.
For example, some of the vases on the little stands in the hallway could probably cost Alice an arm and leg for the little white vase that had tiny blue flowers all over it which even had a name plaque underneath it. Yes, it was a good thing that she never got close to these things as a child or else it would have caused her a big headache that would linger even to now.
They walked into the kitchen where Marion had her back turned to the stove, and the older woman turned around when Alice and Claudia entered. Alice smiled at Marion with all the memories flooding back, and Marion had aged as the years had gone by with some greys in her hair and still a cranky expression in place.
"It would seem that my dear, Alice, has returned," Marion said as she turned back to whisking her bowl.
Alice pulled out one of the stools at the kitchen island before grabbing a chocolate-filled pastry. "I missed you, Marion. These look delightful."
"Don't touch them just yet, Alice," Marion said without looking back at the girls. "They still need to cool to retain their shape."
Alice sighed before putting it on a plate that Claudia had placed down for her. Claudia walked over to grab a water bottle from the fridge and handed it over to Alice. Alice nodded her thanks and strode over to hug Marion on the side, and Alice was shocked that Marion was so complaint before Alice lifted her eyes to see the truth.
Marion leveled a glare at her, making Alice lift her hands in surrender to her lips to cover her laugh. "Well, Claudia and I are going to head upstairs now."
Marion nodded. "Yes. I'll call you two down when breakfast is ready."
"Thank you," Alice said as Claudia whisked Alice up the stairs to her room which was located on the upper level to the righthand side.
The railing was clear glass with a pale grey handle on the top that helped keep the cohesiveness of the home intact. The railing of the hallway went away as they went into the actual hallway that had a ton of rooms connected to it. Alice didn't have to far to peek her head into the piano room, a study room, and whatnot.
Claudia's room had double doors at the end of the hallway, and Claudia opened the doors to let Alice inside. The bright light from the balcony flooded in as Alice stepped into Claudia's pale pink haven that had a ton of cute accent marks whether that be the fairy lights around the headboard of her white bed or the white vanity that was decked out directly across from the bed.
The room was painted white with a dash of cream on the lining of the walls and an intricate design of the wood that was also white. Most of the furniture was the same color scheme that most might have thought to be plain, but with most of the accents being pink with the pastel touches of her clothing rack next to the French doors of the balcony and the plushies on her bed, it came together well.
There was a closet to the right upon entrance and an ensuite bathroom to the left that was also as grand as the room itself. Alice sat down on her bed that was made by the housekeeper and laid back with her purse sliding off her shoulder to take a closer inspection of the pink tulle that went above and around her bed like a little special enclave that fell around her.
Claudia's room gave off fairy vibes in the best way, and Alice took out her phone from her purse to text to her parents that she made it. Her mom responded right away, letting her know to have fun. Alice smiled while reading the message and flopped her hand back down to try and take a break on the comfortable mattress and soft stuffed animals and pillows.
