Chapter 34 - Done Written Well

There were other scripts from the other day on the table, and Alice curiously dragged a few of the copies over to her side to look through the papers. Thumbing her way through the pages, the topics ranged from school events such as sports, club events, and others. There were little shout-outs as well to students who had worked hard and deserved to be recognized.

She rarely turned on the school radio, but she could tell that everyone in this room worked extremely hard to make it happen. Most of the time when she did hear the radio was when the teachers turned it on before class, but other than that, it was mostly it. She didn't realize it, but most of the smooth voices that she had been used to hearing were the people sitting before her.

It was an interesting connection to make because people rarely saw behind the scenes or even thought a bit harder to wonder what it was like. Not that she thought deeply about it either, but it was definitely something that she wanted to know more about since she was also going to go down the liberal arts route to become a broadcast journalist which was in a similar line.

She would have to practice presenting herself in a well-mannered and presentable way that was also pleasing to the ear. Sliding the papers over to Noah, so that he could also read them, she realized that she didn't greet Rita formerly as she and Noah had done first to Sharon since Rita came in with a whirlwind.

Alice stretched her hand out. "Pleasure to meet you, Rita."

Noah nodded as well, and Rita dipped her chin in agreement. "Yes. I as well. I have heard a lot about you two."

Alice smiled, not wanting to approach the topic as if she was an extremely well-known individual despite Noah and her being names that would often come up through most of the publications that the academy offered. She was curious as to how Rita saw them since she didn't tend to think twice about it nowadays. "Oh, how so?"

Rita blushed. "I see a lot of the information on you two."

Noah placed down the papers with a grin. "I hope that it was all good things."

"It was," Rita voiced.

Alice unscrewed the cap of the water bottle and took a sip before asking, "How did you two get into the club?"

"Well, Sharon and I are good friends," Rita answered.

Sharon nodded. "Yes. I had a free period and decided to fill it with this. I didn't expect to like it so much, but I grew to learn a lot about myself and the technology that makes it all work with Daphne being quite patient with me. Since Rita also had a free period, I thought that she would also enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this place."

"That's amazing," Alice said as Noah took the water bottle out of her hands, and she slid him a suspicious look while he tipped the water bottle over his lips into his mouth. If he had put his lips on it, Alice felt as though the girls would get flustered. She turned her attention away from him and back to the girls. "Do you both envision doing something similar in the future at all?"

Rita nodded. "I would love to. Maybe as a scriptwriter. How about you, Sharon?"

Sharon shrugged. "A host, likely. In all honesty, I haven't decided yet."

"Oh, my apologies," Alice said. "I didn't ask what year you both are."

Rita waved her hands. "It's okay. Sharon and I are both second years."

Alice nodded. "Yes, there's no rush. I'm sure that your parents also have some plans for you two."

Rita wrinkled her nose. "I'm just going to ignore my parents' suggestion."

"What do you mean?" Alice laughed.

"They want me to be a surgeon like they are," she answered glumly. "Look at my hands. They're so shaky. It would be horrible if I was a surgeon."

Sharon covered her snort of laughter with a hand before smacking Rita's arm. "I would worry for your patients."

Rita rolled her eyes. "You would be my first one. What do you mean?"

Sharon laughed. "No way."

Alice grinned at their banter, and she could clearly see how close they were considering the first quiet impression of Rita, but it seemed that she had a witty tongue as well. Rita covered her smile with the back of her hand and looked down to see the new script for the day before picking them up and passing it to them.

"Did you see the script yet?" Rita asked.

"Yes," Noah answered. "Alice and I took a look at it. It was written well with good ideas."

Rita reddened even further. "Well, thank you. I... wrote it."

Alice smiled. "It's a well done to you."
