The laughter continued, and Alice had relaxed in her seat enough to be more natural, and Daphne touched her earpiece and pointed over at Elijah, and mimed for him to turn them up. Daphne was the only one wearing the black earpiece, but maybe it was for what they sounded like on the outside.
If that was so, it would be good to have to monitor their progress and to catch any technological mishaps that might happen. She knew that it would have a different feel if there was actually a camera in here to record their faces along with their voices, but she needed to practice more if one day she wanted to stand on the screen with a bright face.
Rita flipped through a few of the questions that she wrote and looked up at them to check if they were ready. "Alright. How about we get started on the games that we had prepared for Noah and Alice? I hear that these games that we're about to play are going to be similar to the one seen at the booth, correct?"
"Yes, it will be," Alice said. "Or rather, something similar to test the chemistry of the two individuals coming together."
Rita clapped her hands together. "That's going to be exciting."
"But of course, let's all remember that it's all fun and games, so please take the event lightly and with a grain of salt," Alice reminded softly.
"Yes, take note of that students," Rita assented before passing the speaking notecard to Liam.
"With that note, let's transfer over to our first game today," Liam said. "It is one that I'm sure most are familiar with. It is 'Would you rather'!"
"Alice and Noah are here today to promote their homeroom activity, and their goal is to strengthen their chemistry, correct?" Sharon asked.
"Yes," Alice agreed.
"Let's have Rita read the questions then," Sharon said.
Rita nodded. "Before that, let's get a good background knowledge of you two's friendship!"
Alice turned to Noah as if to say 'What friendship?' but Noah ignored her. "I have known Alice since our first year here."
"Really?" Rita exclaimed. "Tell us more about it. Are you two normally close?"
Alice was about to say how they don't get along at all with them being on two opposite sides of north and south, but Noah pinched her leg knowing exactly what she wanted to voice, and answered Rita with, "Well, we have been in the same classes and homeroom since first year, so I was quite familiar with her since I often saw her around."
She nodded but cringed on the inside since it was true, and she had successfully avoided him until this year since she never felt comfortable being around him. But she learned that things never go to plan with Noah, and she smiled at everyone. "That's true. However, despite seeing each other often, we only got close this year."
"That's great to hear," Sharon said. "What are your thoughts on being the poster boy and girl of the season?"
Alice smiled. "It was an honor."
"And it was even more of an honor to partner with the best," Noah said all too well knowing that he almost always beats her in every category that the academy offers being so that they both had big egos, and Alice kicked the side of his leg in retaliation.
"I love the theme and think that it fits you two well," Daphne grinned. "It's classy and well-defined."
"I agree a hundred percent," Rita added. "Now, are you both ready for the 'would you rather' questions?"
Noah nodded. "Hit us with it."
Rita flipped the page over and read the first line out loud. "Mountains or the sea?"
"The sea," they both said at the same time making her cringe and the girls clap in excitement.
"Okay, let's do more," Rita said. "Inside or outside?"
Alice paused to think but eventually said, "Inside!"
The girls clapped again in delight, and Alice sighed while still keeping a smile on her face to keep the mood light.
"Be on a dating show or survival show?"
"Survival show."
There was no hesitation on her part, and it made her laugh since Noah didn't think twice either. She could envision them both trying to survive in the jungle all on their own determined to be the survivor. Rita grinned. "You two have perfect chemistry."
Alice was honestly shocked but didn't bother to think too much about it since it was just a little game when Rita continued. "Make the move, or someone makes the move?"
"Make the move."
Alice looked over to Noah in disbelief. "That's not true."
Noah smirked. "I could say the same for you."
Daphne laughed. "We have some gutsy people here. What would be your advice for people who are too shy to make a move?"
Alice paused since she didn't know the right words to help, and Noah stepped in. "You've got to make them look at you."
"Hmmm, how so?"
"Make them pay attention to you so that they can think of you because they always see you. That way, you can remain in their thoughts."
"That's so romantic!" Daphne said delighted. "You hear that students? Don't let your beloved get away."
