Alice walked down the hallway in the west wing of the building after the school bell just rang alerting all the students that they were done with academics for the day before the rest day still had to fill out the rest of the plans most the students had that afternoon and evening which could include night academies, sports, clubs, or even jobs and whatnot.
She honestly wished that she got more involved with the school, but at the end of the day, she was content with being able to help out at the store with her family more often instead of getting caught up with her friends that tended to be stuck together since they all did the same thing besides Claudia who was a wild card in everything that she touched.
Alice did get all the information that she needed from Madeline about where she and Noah needed to go, and what room to go to since she had never gone out of her way to see where the radio show team was. She had heard all the good things about them and knew that it wasn't going to be as bad as thought.
If anything, the worst thing that could go wrong if she didn't have any knowledge about a question or the awkward chemistry between her and Noah that could likely backfire on her when they were live on the radio which would only in turn make their homeroom project look bad when it was already going so well.
She was going to do as best as she can since she was already going out of her way for Madeline's wishes and after getting roped in with Noah's antsy actions that would often than not just irritate her since he literally revealed himself due to the fact that he said so himself when they ate at the last night.
Alice didn't think she was as bad as Noah with her trying to get back at him since her main goal was just to ignore him, but he didn't seem to agree with that since everywhere she was, it seemed that he was always there. It was funny now that she thought back about the coincidence of their meetings.
Hanging her briefcase over her shoulder, she took the stairs up since the elevator was occupied by some movers taking in some new shelving for the classes, and she took the stairs up two by two to try and gain some faster ground. Huffing out a breath as she got to the third ledge, she paused and smiled over at Josie when they crossed paths.
Josie smiled at her, and at the last moment, Josie turned around to walk with her with a bounce in her step while carrying all her practice uniform gear and briefcase in tow. Josie had likely been to her locker and only crashed into the same pathing as her. Alice laughed as Josie fell in step with her.
"Hey, Josie," Alice grinned.
"Alice! I haven't seen you in a while."
Alice looped her arm through Josie's. "It's all good, girl. We've all been busy. You should probably get going now since you're going to be late for soccer practice."
Josie sighed. "It's tiring. we have sprints today."
"That sounds like a punishment."
"Because it is."
"Aren't you in the sport to run?"
Josie laughed. "Just because I run doesn't mean that I like to run."
Alice nodded fervently. "Agreed. Agreed."
"What have you been doing lately?" Josie asked.
"Just the same. Working with my family, and it's going well."
"Aw, that's good to hear. Please let your parents know that I miss them."
Alice grinned. "Of course. My mom will tell you to come visit."
Josie groaned. "I would. I swear I would, but the soccer schedule is insane."
Alice nodded since she knew how much it was. Josie had started taking soccer seriously around the end of their first year together, and after that, it was like a burst of energy for her to start working hard to become of the best players the academy has known on the women's team which Alice was proud to hear.
Long ago, she and Josie would study together with some girls, so some people had met her parents, and Alice knew her mother would certainly be elated to hear about Josie again since she started to become a hermit for her last year of high school since she was tired to keep an image that didn't prove to help her in any way rather than hurt.
"Where are you headed?" Josie asked.
Alice fluffed her hair to try and stop her curls from dying. "I'm doing being a guest on the academy radio show."
"Oh! You're going to love Daphne."
"Daphne?"
"She's the president of that club and super sweet."
Alice smiled. "I look forward to meeting her."
Josie squeezed her side. "Okay, I'll get going now."
"Yes," Alice said as she inclined her head. "I'll see you."
Josie waved goodbye before running down the hallway, and Alice knew that if there was a teacher in the hallway, Josie would have gotten a lecture that would have droned on and on. She laughed at the thought and wished that she got more time to speak with her but most of the time, her and Josie's schedules didn't match.
She had been close to Josie for some time since the beginning of her time at the academy, but they had naturally drifted away as their classes differed. However, whenever they were next to each other, they would always be able to interact naturally and carry on a fun conversation with one another which Alice greatly appreciated. It would only get worse if it was awkward, so why not make it fun?
