Chapter 10 - Visiting the Farm

"Is everything ready, Camellia?"

The morning of the next day, Azel who was dressed simply but elegantly came out from the main building of the castle. Behind him, a beautiful girl was looking at a parchment in her hand.

"All necessities have been prepared, sir." Camellia answered politely.

Looking at the front yard, Azel nodded in satisfaction. A carriage and ten mounted knights were waiting for him there. Of course, the ten knights were warriors that Azel had chosen and would develop.

The reason Azel didn't take so many knights with him when he traveled was because he wouldn't venture too far from Black Lily Castle. In his opinion, ten knights would be enough. Besides, there was still Camellia to take care of his daily needs.

"Have you guys had breakfast yet?"

"Yes sir!" replied the ten knights in unison.

Even though they knew that Azel was asking casually, those people didn't dare to be careless. Not only strong, it was clear their Master had good insight to the point where he could spot traitors in the ranks of the knights. They didn't dare to be reckless and ended up being slaughtered.

"Then we shall depart now."

After saying that, Azel immediately got into the carriage with Camellia. With six knights in front and four knights behind the carriage, he and his party set off for the village of Purple Cloud Village.

Purple Cloud Village was in a hollow between several hills. the land there is so fertile that it produces large agricultural land. It was the largest farm personally managed by the previous Marquis.

Inside the carriage, Azel was looking at the scenery outside the window with a bored expression.

"How long will it take us to get to Purple Cloud Village, Camellia?"

"Camping outside, we will most likely reach our destination before noon tomorrow, Master."

"its really boring," Azel said.

Azel and his party had just left Black Lily City. They continued heading south. Passing through two small towns, they finally arrived at a large grassland area. The sight of a horde of level 1 Demonic Beasts grazing in the distance made Azel quite excited.

'Isn't that a level 1 Demonic Ox? They look like oxen but twice as big. Can't they be farmed? Why don't the Demons try raising Demonic Beasts?'

After thinking about something, Azel finally realized that such a thing was hard to do. Demonic Beasts, even though they were level 1 and not carnivorous, they were still relatively dangerous to ordinary citizens. A horde of level 1 Demonic Ox of over 20 might cause disaster to a small village.

On the Demon continent, there are ordinary beasts and Demonic Beasts. Ordinary animals, such as rabbits, chickens, cows, and so on can still be raised and consumed by ordinary people. Even though they are called demons, in this world, demons themselves are more like humans with horns, tails, or some additional accessories. Unlike the demon that was told in the books in Azel's previous life.

"However, raising low level Demonic Beasts isn't impossible," Azel muttered while pondering.

"Did you say something, sir?" Camellia asked.

"It is nothing." Azel shook his head lightly.

Their journey was quite smooth and stopped at noon to have lunch together. At lunch, they eat some prepared bread, smoked meat and some fruit. They don't want to waste a lot of time cooking. After resting for about an hour and a half, they finally continued their journey.

On their next trip, they were a bit unlucky. Before entering the forest area, they encountered a horde of level 1 Wind Wolves. Seeing the horde of more than 20 wolves made Azel frown.

Although weak, the Wind Wolf pack was renowned for their speed and teamwork. They are creatures that rookie bounty hunters avoid. Looking at the knight, Azel smiled mysteriously.

'Consider it a bonus. Knight training for free.'

Picking up a beautiful jar filled with some snacks made from nuts, Azel looked at the scenery outside the window filled with anticipation. Unfortunately, the young man's joy did not last long.

The knights who had been trained, with their horses and the aid of their equipment, completely swept through the first level wolf horde with ease. Seeing that, Azel returned his snack with an expressionless face.

"Tch. Boring."

Camellia glanced at Azel with a curious look. She did not expect that her master had expressed so much ever since leaving Black Lily City.

"Do you feel uncomfortable, sir?" Camellia asked.

"No. I'm just a little bored," Azel replied, shaking his head lightly.

The journey continued until they finally stopped in a forest that was not too dense. Because it was already afternoon, Azel and his entourage decided to set up tents and camp here.

The location is of course on the outskirts of a forest that is not dense. The reason is simple, in a dense forest it is quite dangerous and hard to avoid an ambush. Meanwhile, in the meadow it is dangerous because it is too open. Not to mention because of the wind and other natural conditions.

Azel and his entourage set up four tents. One for Azel, one for Camellia, and two for the ten knights and coachman. In addition, the ten knights were divided into two small groups. Five knights guard the first half of the night, the rest the second half of the night.

Nothing special happened at all. Apart from having a bit of trouble sleeping because it was a bit cold and the bed was quite hard, Azel didn't experience any tense fights or anything like that. Perhaps the most stressful is fighting with mosquitoes that disturb his sleep.

Opening his eyes in the morning, washing his face then having breakfast, Azel became more and more bored. But in the end he accepted reality. Situations of life and death, thrilling adventures or something like that only happen in novels. It might also happen in his life now, but it definitely wouldn't happen all the time.

'After all, I'm not a great hero who thirsts for battle. Although bored, it is actually quite calm.'

Thinking of such things, Azel and his entourage finally continued their journey.

Just before noon, they finally arrived at Purple Cloud Village. Looking at the recently planted wheat fields, Azel was satisfied.

"It's really vast. But there are some problems," Azel muttered.

In Azel's opinion, this demon race farm was a bit too old-fashioned. Not only because of the tools used, but the planting system. The distance between plants, irrigation, and so on has not been given too much attention. Seeing such a thing irritated him.

'Shit! What a waste of fertile land!'

When Azel and his entourage arrived at the village head's house, it seemed that the residents welcomed him in a friendly manner. They looked at the knights with amazed looks. When Azel and Camellia got off the carriage, they were looked at with adoring eyes.

"Welcome to our humble abode My Lord, Honorable Prince Azazel!" exclaimed the village head with an enthusiastic expression on his face.

"Long live Prince Azazel!"

"Long live Prince Azazel!"

"...."

Seeing the warm welcome that was so exaggerated that even the village people's starry eyes were staring at him made Azel feel somewhat confused. He was stunned on the spot while questioning something.

'Am I in the wrong place? Did I mistakenly enter into a horde of cults?'
