Chereads / The Useless 8th Prince / Chapter 13 - A Surprise

Chapter 13 - A Surprise

"Please bring your weapons, Sir!"

Hearing Camellia's words, Azel turned to her with a soft smile on his face.

"Didn't we just visit the half-Troll house? Aren't there already ten knights?"

"That ..."

"We're not in any danger, ok?"

"But... but I've heard that Trolls are quite brutal, sir. I..."

Seeing Camellia's worried expression, Azel shook his head lightly. But he also complied with her wishes. After all, carrying a weapon isn't that heavy.

"Fine. I'll bring the weapon."

"Thank you, sir!"

Seeing the relieved expression on Camellia's face made Azel once again shake his head lightly. He patted the girl's head and stroked it. He then went to get his sword.

Azel took and put on a black leather belt. After that, only then did he hang his beloved sword there. The young man still dressed casually without protective armor, carrying only an extra sword.

After getting ready, Azel left with Camellia and the village head. As for the knights, he told them to stay because visiting Trolls was completely harmless. After walking for a while, the three of them finally arrived in front of a rickety wooden house.

According to the village head, those half-Trolls started living in the village since more or less five years ago. At first many people disapproved, but the previous village head let the man stay out of pity. The residents also agreed, after all, compared to the indifferent city people, they still have a sense of empathy.

It is said that the reason why half of the Trolls didn't come to welcome Azel was for fear of disgusting him. Even though he didn't think so, the young man understood it. Again the problem of the nobility and the common people. Annoying thing to hear.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

The door of the wooden house was knocked on by the village chief, soon the door opened and a 180 cm tall figure appeared from there. The creature had a hideous face, a bald head, and was slightly hunched over. Azel was quite surprised when he saw it. Trolls should be taller, but being only half-Trolls, this was understandable.

"W-What's the matter you... called me, sir?" asked the half-Troll in a hoarse, hoarse voice. He looked a bit confused and scared.

"Nothing, Gru. let me introduce you, this is Prince Azazel. He is curious and wants to meet you."

The half-troll called Gru immediately looked at Azel. Realizing that the young man in front of him was a Prince, Gru immediately prostrated himself.

"N-Nice to meet you, Prince Azazel." Gru said haltingly.

"Get up."

Gru gets up and looks at Azel with a doubtful expression. He seemed to have the courage to ask, "What… is there anything the Prince wants from this slave?"

Azel's golden eyes slightly lit up as he stared at Gru. A gentle smile appeared on his face. Then, the young man shook his head lightly as he replied, "I just wanted to see you."

"F-Forgive this slave for not being able to host you, Prince." Gru looked apologetic and pale.

"I don't mind," Azel said casually as he walked over to Gru.

"Please don't come too close, sir! It's dangerous," Camellia said worriedly.

"It's okay. I believe Gru won't attack people for no reason."

Gru, who saw the prince approaching looked doubtful. The young man watched him closely before finally standing on tiptoe to whisper something. Hearing Azel's whisper, Gru's eyes immediately narrowed, a ferocious aura and killing intent emanated from his body.

The half-troll suddenly waved his fist while roaring, "DIE!!!"

In response, Azel casually jumped back while dodging. A gentle smile was still visible on his face when he dodged Gru's punch. Instead, the young man raised his right hand while pointing at Gru with his index finger.

"Hellfire."

With Azel's short words, black flames enveloped his finger. In front of the index finger, a black fireball the size of a golf ball formed. Even though it was small, it caused the temperature around it to immediately rise a few degrees.

A black fireball was shot towards Gru's head, but to his surprise, the creature barely avoided it. The fireball only slightly grazed Gru's left ear before crashing into the wooden house behind him. A powerful explosion immediately sounded.

"Master!"

"Prince Azazel!"

Hearing the exclamation from behind, Azel hurriedly said, "You guys back off!"

Meanwhile, Gru, who saw his wooden house almost collapsing, glared at Azel before running inside.

Seeing Gru who was panicking, the corners of Azel's lips lifted. He again used the black fireball to destroy the wooden house. The wooden house finally collapses and catches fire, leaving Gru buried inside.

"P-Prince!"

The village head looked confused when he saw Azel suddenly destroy the house and kill Gru. From his perspective, the half-Trolls were completely innocent. Suddenly provoking emotions and killing him was simply too much.

"You guys back off."

Again Azel said the same thing. Looking at the collapsed and burning log house, the young man's eyes narrowed. Explosive sounds rang out, wooden debris flew, a black figure instantly jumped away from the flames.

Seeing Gru's figure that had just emerged from the flames, shocked expressions crossed Camellia's and the village head's faces. The half-troll's face and body were burned, covered in wounds almost all over. Surprisingly, Gru looked indifferent. There was a bow in his right hand, while in his left was a dagger.

In front of the eyes of the three people, Gru dropped both weapons then started 'ripping' his own skin. Through that grisly process, the body that was in the 'costume' was revealed. It wasn't a hideous or detestable creature, quite the opposite, it was a creature that was so beautiful and elegant.

Her black hair was straight and long, her blue irises were as beautiful as sapphires, and her skin was pale white. The creature has a beautiful face and charming body. What is rather striking is the ears which are quite long and pointy. Looking at the beautiful woman in front of him, a smile appeared on Azel's face.

"What a surprise! Turns out to be a Dark Elf."

Seeing that the beautiful Dark Elf in tight all-black clothes was silent, Azel continued to say, "Has this beautiful Dark Elf forgotten how to speak like a girl after wearing a half-troll 'costume' for too long?"

Instead of answering Azel's question, the Dark Elf took her dagger and bow. After pinning her dagger to his waist, she immediately drew her bow. Water condensed on her fingertips. When the bowstring was pulled back, an ice arrow formed from nothing.

Swoosh!

The arrow tore through the air as it left the bow. The target was… Azel's head!

In response, Azel stopped smiling and drew his sword at a speed that's barely visible to the eye. The sword directly smashed the ice arrow, but the ice magic contained in it still spread out, making the young man feel a little cold.

Seeing a woman prettier than Camellia or Isabella, Azel clicked his tongue. The woman was indeed very beautiful, but the prettier the woman meant the more dangerous.

Will you feel love at first sight when you see a handsome boy or a beautiful girl? It may be.

However... if a handsome or beautiful figure suddenly appeared in front of you and tried to kill you, would you still experience love at first sight?

Obviously, that's impossible!
