In a world where two forms of life exist, one walking free and the other wandering in the dark, trying to hide from the rest of the world in fear of torture and endless suffering. Though as time passed, those kinds of thoughts gradually dissolved, making society open up to the ones who are different.
The present society allowed the existence of a form of life different from theirs while the older generations sticked to their beliefs and opinions refusing to adapt to the change.
Even though the dependent form could open themselves to society, the threat to their lives never disappeared. The threat stayed the same while only the bold dared to reveal who they really were to the outside world.
These creatures who depended on the blood of living humans came to be called vampires. Even though people suspected many other human mutations like them existed, the existence of such kind was never found.
Though society allowed vampires to roam around freely, like any other human being. However, nowhere in the world allowed these two species to get mixed with each other. Appearing of another mutation scared people.

Rayme, a girl born to a family that was well off since the day she was born, was now going through the most tragic part of her life. It was not losing a family member. It was that she was losing everything she had little by little.
Though her father felt that it was no use of paying off the loans, those thoughts deeply troubled her. Every and each conversation through which she heard about the problems that her family was going through, she felt more depressed but never dared to show it to anyone.
Even if she did show her emotions to anyone, she was ignored, saying that she was overreacting about everything, but she was someone who had a vision that saw the future. No matter how much her family members were procrastinating, she was determined to save everything herself, even if it meant sacrificing her life for it.
She was a girl who was ready to sacrifice everything she had to save what her parents worked so hard to build in the very beginning. Though those properties meant nothing to her father now, her mind and heart always told her not to let go of things that easily.
While she was struggling to live her life, there was someone else who was living a life thousand times better than her.
Though he was sarcastic, he was the only one who sticked by her side and talked to her, and she did not know that he was a completely different species. To her, he was the only one she could talk to her and the sole reason why she did so was because she knew that he was the type who would go around smiling at other people's hardships.
He too never felt the need of revealing who he really was, regardless of knowing that she would never push him away because of such a trivial matter.
Rayme was a girl who was loved by everyone around her. It did not matter where she went. Everyone was pleased and happy to talk to her. However, she was the type who was always unlucky when it comes to choosing friends.
Not a single person she was friends with was faithful to her. They were with her either because of the money she had or because they had something to get done from her. Despite knowing that everyone was taking advantage of her, she continued to stick to those toxic friends, completely turning a blind eye to what was happening.
Among everyone she met in school, only one person was true to her, and even though he was kind of boring person to hang around with, she loved the fact that she wasn't being used by him too.
So, she continued to stick to her. Every morning, she would run to him, hoping to relive the stress that could have killed her if it were not for him listening to her.
"Dylan!!!" she would shout out every morning.
The only reaction he shows to her was looking at her and nodding his head to say good morning.
Rayme and Dylan both had equal and opposite personalities at the same time. Rayme was an extrovert to the maximum while Dylan was pretending to be an introvert even though he was actually a person who speaks as much as she does.
Every morning, he would take a close look at her face. The reason why he was looking at her face was not for any other purpose. He would look straight into her eyes to see whether she cried all-night. He, of all people, knew that she was the type of person who won't be able to handle if something serious was to happen.
Though he did not show much affection to her. He covered the lack of words through his actions. He would visit her home a couple of times a week to make sure she was eating well.
Rayme had changed a lot through the little of time. She became stressed about everything. Dylan could see how much weight she had lost, though according to everyone else it was a good thing for her. In his eyes it seemed like something serious to him.
Cause it was only him who had seen her faint. To the rest of the world, to her family, she was a kid who had never fainted.
All the problems made her wonder for an answer to solve the issues herself without bothering. Despite being able to make ends meet, she was determined to be independent so that she won't be the one who is dragging everyone else in the family down.
In her mind, she had already given up her expensive dreams. With all the money she could get, she was determined to send her sister and bother out of the country.
To her, sacrificing herself seemed like the only way. Every day when every other kid out there was making future plans, she pretended as if she have dreams. While acting like she has dreams that she wants to achieve, she was slowly manipulating her mind to give up everything she planned for her future.
Her life in school was coming to a gradually, all she wanted was to enter to a university by herself to avoid spending any more money on herself. Though she was not that bright when it comes to her studies, she shined brightly every time she was determined. No matter how many times she was going to fail, she had someone who would always be with her and help her study.
"Rayme!" He called her name. "I will come over to your place this evening. It seems like you are studying anything these days and look at you. You are so distracted these days. At this rate, you are not going to make it."
"Do whatever you want." She said, having no energy to fight back with his words. His words annoyed her for the first time. The frustration that was building up inside her was eating her inside out. All she wanted to do was too burry herself in her bed.
What was going on in her house did not make her want to eat or study. Thanks to everything that was going on in her house, she starved herself for two days.
She banged her head on the table, trying to feel relieved, but it only made things even worse.
"Come on! Let's go eat." Dylan grabbed her hand, pulling her to come with her. "We are the only ones left in the class. Everyone already went out."
"I do not feel like eating today. Keep that aside, I do not even feel like getting up from this chair. So, I think it is better if you leave me alone for today."
"Alright then," he replied and left the class.
A few minutes later, he came back into the class with a box and left it on her table with a spoon.
"If you do not get up and eat this now, I am going to eat it all by myself!"
"I told you that I do not feel like eating today. So please leave me alone for now!!"
"It's your favorite tiramisu, by the way." Upon hearing those words, she immediately raised her head. It was the only comfort food that she enjoyed and he knew that this was the only thing that he can use to lift her mood.
"You eat it! I will write the notes on your books in the meantime. That way we will be able to study without wasting time."
Dylan got up and walked back to his table with her books and started writing while she enjoyed the tiramisu.
'He probably did not get to eat today because of me,' Rayme thought. She walked to him and pushed a spoon full of sweet tiramisu into his mouth. Making his eyes glow in surprise.
