Chapter 2 - Too Fast!

--this is our mcs thoughts--

--katara is hot--

The following day, Keo early in the morning, practiced water bending some more; he could now create two-foot-high waves, something he was constantly fascinated by. When Katara and Sokka were getting their skiff ready for the day.

"Hey Katara and Sokka, my boat is being repaired, could I come out with you guys today?"

Keo was friendly with Sokka and Katara, but they never really interacted, mostly due to Keo's crush on Katara.

"Sure Keo, we could use another man to do the heavy lifting, 👊 ( ͡❛ ͜ʖ ͡❛)." Sokka remarked while Keo and Katara shared a look.

Along the way, Keo and Katara talked about water bending, neither were all that good, but katara was significantly better than Keo, who was very proud of his waves.

Halfway through the day, just after the gang had finished a delicious meal of dried fish they came to a large, glowing iceberg.

--NOOOOO, I'm supposed to get like a year to become overpowered, right? Why so soon   ( ͡❛ ෴ ͡❛) --

"Stay back; I'll protect you from... whatever the fuck this is!," trumpeted Sokka. As he climbed atop the iceberg and started resolutely hacking at it with his club. After the third strike, a gust of wind escaped the iceberg, and a beam of light tore up, into the sky, which sent waves crashing toward their skiff.

Then lying on top of a flying or, now, swimming bison was Aang.

"Hiya you wanna go penguin sliding with me?!"

---------------

A couple of hours later, after some introductions, and penguin sliding the gang returned to the southern water tribe.

"I still think he's a fire nation spy ( ˘︹˘ )" whispered Sokka, who was quickly soaked by Katara.

--hmm, this is tricky. I need to warn the people of the southern water tribe about the fire nation invasion, but they might not believe me if I don't have a reason. I've got it - I'll just bullshit! --

Suddenly, halfway through Aang telling the small tribe he was the avatar, Keo's eyes rolled back into his head, and he dramatically gasped.

"Fire nation soldiers! .... A huge ship! We need to evaluate the village, now!"

"What are you talking about?"

"We have to start gutting the fish."

"The new igloo needs to be finished; we don't have time for this, Keo."

"I'm serious please ... oh shit."

A huge black vessel approached the southern water tribe.

"Aang Katara Sokka, load up rations onto Appa we need to draw them away from the village." Yelled Keo as he rushed into his igloo, to grab his possessions."

"Wait, nobody said anything about me and Katara coming - oof!" began Sokka, only to be silenced by a swift kick in the balls from Katara, who had already packed her bag. Aang had now saddled up Appa, and Keo and Katara threw their supplies onto the flying bison's back.

Just as Keo was about to join the crew atop Appa, a hand grasped his shoulders, and a sturdy bow was shoved into his hands by Jolgah, the village elder and Keos only relative, though they weren't blood-related. Wood was a very precious thing at the south pole, so this must have been a family heirloom.

Appa was off swimming, and quick goodbyes were called out.

"What do we do now? Appa is too weak to outrun that monster," asked Aang,

"We need to get to the mainland to escape, we don't have the supplies to survive at the south pole, and the village is probably compromised," replied Katara.

After a day, Appa swam past the last iceberg of the south pole with the battleships growing closer and closer -- it had become apparent that they wouldn't make it across the expanse of sea to the mainland -- so Keo laid out his plan.
