Mr. Zhang was going to be away for a few months and he would be back only after the exams were completed. He arranged it so that he would be back to celebrate Mingmei's graduation.
She had already demanded an extravagant banquet and everyone in the grade 12 class was invited including their families. It was going to be a big affair. It was also a way for Mr. Zhang to make more business connections and for Mrs. Zhang to scope out potential marriage partners for Mingmei and Fang.
Since Mr. Zhang was going to be away, Mingmei had her own plans. Only two weeks had passed since Hua was tasked by Mr. Zhang to tutor Mingmei who was "studying" hard.
That really meant she was snacking, watching makeup and fashion videos and dramas. She would immediately pretend if anyone entered her room to give her snacks or check up on her.
