Watching the sunset as the train rode away from Suzhou, Hua felt a sense of relief and exhilaration pass through her entire being. She was ready for her new beginning.
She had already booked a room at an inn near the hospital. Her room had a little kitchenette where she could cook her own meals for the next two weeks while recovering from surgery. After settling in, Hua went to the nearby shopping center.
She needed some clothes since she had gotten rid of most of her clothes that were Mingmei's hand-me-downs. Hua didn't spend too much on clothes generally. She just got a couple of large black t-shirts and two pairs of sweatpants. She also got two tights, one pair of formal pants, and one white button-up shirt. She wanted to have an outfit for interviews and formal settings.
