As the sun began to set, we left the beach and started walking back to my house. The day had been perfect, and I didn't want it to end. But at the same time, I knew I couldn't keep Leo all to myself forever. He had a life outside of me, and I had to respect that.
As we reached my doorstep, Leo turned to me and said, "I had a really great time today, Aphrodite. Thank you for coming with me."
I smiled at him, wishing I could tell him how much I had enjoyed our day together. "No, thank you, Leo. It was amazing."
He leaned in closer, and I felt my heart race. Was he going to kiss me? Was he going to finally tell me how he felt?
But he didn't. Instead, he simply brushed his hand against my cheek and said, "I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
I nodded, feeling a bit disappointed but trying not to show it. "Yeah, sure. Tomorrow."
As I watched him walk away, I couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking. Did he really see me as just a friend? Or was there something more there, something he was just too afraid to say?
