We sat down in the living room, and Leo handed me the flowers. "These are for you," he said, grinning. "I thought they might brighten up your day."
I smiled at him, feeling my heart melt. "Thank you, Leo. They're beautiful."
We chatted for a while, catching up on each other's lives. He told me about his work as an artist, and I told him about my struggles with school.
But as the night wore on, I couldn't help but feel like something was off. Leo wasn't acting like himself. He seemed distant, almost preoccupied.
Finally, I couldn't take it anymore. I had to find out what was going on.
"Leo, is something wrong?" I asked, looking at him with concern. "You seem…different tonight."
He sighed and looked away. "Aphrodite, there's something I need to tell you. It's not easy, but I think…no, I know you deserve to hear it."
