Chereads / His maid-looking cutie / Chapter 23 - Just another day

Chapter 23 - Just another day

After breakfast, the trio, Zeke, Kai and Bebe, headed to their rooms, to pack their bags and get ready to leave. Kai called the airport and let them know they were going to use the jet that evening.

After some hours, everything was done, except collecting the divorce papers. Zeke and Kai made plans to go when Bebe stopped them in the hallway.

"I want to come with" she said.

"Are you sure?" Kai asked almost instantly.

She nodded, "I have some things to say to him".

Zeke was fine with either arrangement, so he nodded and walked to the car with Kai and Bebe following behind.

Kai got into the driver's seat as the other two sat in the back seat.

The drive was anything but quiet. Bebe didn't seem nervous at all and the music on the car's sound system helped to distract her mind. She sang all the songs word for word, as she was very familiar with them.

And in no time, they arrived at Ethan Gomez's house. They all came out of the car at the same time, and walked towards the house, together.

The door was opened and they were received by Ethan's housekeeper.

The young lady bowed and opened the door wider to let them in.

Ethan was already sitting in the living room, rubbing his fingers weirdly. He stood as soon as he saw them walk in.

They didn't bother sitting, as they weren't there for pleasantries.

"Papers" Zeke said without wasting any time.

"They're here" he answered, then turned his attention to Bebe, "but please don't do this baby. You know I love you. I know I need to see a psychologist, I will, darling. So please, come back home, I will change for you." He said.

To Bebe, his words meant nothing. He wasn't a hundred percent bad, but she deserved better, so much better. He had said this line so many times that it was like a tape recorder, repeating information recorded on it, making it lose its sincerity everytime it was played.

"No thanks. Been there, done that" was her reply, shocking Ethan to his core.

He never imagined that one day, Bebe would leave him even after he gave her his classic "I will change" line.

"Oh and you need a psychiatrist because that's how fucked up you are. These past years have been hell on earth, but I endured them, thinking you would keep to your word. Huge mistake, but one that will not be made ever again. Have a nice life Ethan" Bebe said and walked out of the house.

Zeke took the papers and verified that they were signed. "Now listen, I don't want to see you near Bebe. I don't want you to ever talk to her again, or try to talk to her again." Zeke said and was about to leave when he heard Ethan say, "and what if I don't listen?"

Zeke walked up to him, leaned in and whispered, "there won't be an Ethan Gomez on the face of this earth anymore", sending shivers up Ethan's spine. Ethan could tell that Zeke was serious, because he never gave empty threats.

Kai didn't say a word, but the look he gave Ethan alone was enough for Ethan to know not to mess with Bebe anymore.

They headed to the airport after that, which was a long drive, letting them arrive by 6pm.

They boarded Zeke's private jet and we're on their way back home about thirty six minutes after arrival.

Bentlee's POV

Why was it so hot today???? Ughhhhh. "Does this AC unit even work?" I groaned and tapped on the buttons of the remote that controlled the Air conditioning unit. I moved closer and felt the cool air blow away my complaints. I sighed and checked the time..... Whoa, 6:30 already? I need to get started on dinner.

I opened the fridge, took out some ground meat, tomatoes and spring onions, and got started on making spaghetti and meatballs.

After chopping, dicing, frying and boiling for what seemed like an eternity, I was done.

It tasted magnificent, so I gave my self a five-star Michelin chef pat on my back.

I took out my phone and opened ChatApp, an app for chatting, obviously.

I had a few new messages. One from Darwin, one from Milan and one from an unknown number.

Milan was just asking about some work stuff. Darwin wanted to know when we could have dinner and I replied that I'd let him know when the schedule has an opening, as work was currently hectic.

Now, the unknown number. I just stared at it for a while before replying "hello, who is this?" to the message. The unknown number was online at the time, so I received an instant message, "Stefani".

I immediately dropped my phone and walked to the living room, where I took a cushion pillow and screamed into it.

There's never a moment of rest when Del Loona Experience is involved....Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I sighed and picked up the phone.

"I need you to come to work an hour before work actually begins. The presentation day is approaching quickly and we want to hear what you already have to say", was her next message and then she went offline.

Can you believe her? An hour earlier? I don't even own the company... I sighed for some minutes before going to prepare for the Pre-presentation.

I picked up the materials I needed and headed to the little desk in my room.

I wrote, cancelled, rewrote and cancelled some more before finally turning off the lights and calling it a day by 11pm.

.......

*Bzzt bzzt*, the vibration of my phone startled me awake. The screen was active and showing a new notification. I lazily turned it over without checking, trying to get some sleep.

*Bzzzzzzzzzzzt bzzzzzzzzzzzt bzzzzzzzzzzzt bzzzzzzzzzzzt* the vibrations were longer, alerting me. I rose my head and reached out to the phone. My eyes were drowsy, so I didn't bother to check who was calling.

".......hello" I said after some seconds.

"I sent you some materials to review for the meeting today, they should be summarised and added in your Pre-presentation. We won't tolerate any haphazard work", and the line went dead.

Who the fuck???? I opened my eyes and checked and I wasn't surprised to see "Stefani" boldly written.

I hissed and opened the material, thinking it would be at most four pages.

"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaattt???????!!!!!!!!"

There were seven materials in total and each was not less than twenty five pages.

"Seriously Stefani? This bitch... And she's telling me this by 2am. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh I hate her so much. I can't wait to be done with the presentation nonsense and stop having to deal with her" I soliloquised.

I splashed cold water on my face to fully wake me up. This woman wants the best but can't let me rest? I clicked my tongue. This was going to be a long morning.
