Zeke's POV
Saturdays had always been productive for me, but today I just wanted to become sand and relax.
I instructed Kai to not disturb me while I was resting and he didn't.
I felt at peace for once and I wanted everything to be still in that very moment.
I was sitting on my balcony, admiring the view and eating cupcakes when i heard a car horn.
"What the hell" was what I thought.
I went to check and behold, it was the last person I would want to see today, Daphne.
I pinched the area between my brows as I already felt the headache building up.
I walked downstairs to get some Orange juice when Paleah walked in with Daphne.
"Hel-" Daphne started.
"What?" I cut her off.
"I came to say hello and..." Daphne replied.
"And?"
"Take you out" she said in a small voice.
"Oh"
"Will you consider go-" she said, eyes bright.
"No"
She frowned but didn't say anything. I drank the whole glass of juice and set it down.
"Zeke, let's go out. That steakhouse you like opened a branch nearby" Paleah said.
"Not in the mood" came my reply.
Then she made a face that said, "I'm so disappointed that you would intentionally make me look and feel stupid, I hope you're happy 'cause I won't forgive you".
I sighed my rest time away. I didn't like seeing that expression on her face.
"Not more than two hours" I said making Daphne shout "yay".
I dressed in a black t-shirt and black jeans with black boots and silver accessories.
We left in my car, with Kai.
BOOKIES STEAKHOUSE was a delightful place.
There were huge platters of meat, a grill on each table and a lot of side dishes.
The waiter showed us to a table afterwhich he asked how we'd like our steak. Raw or cooked.
I picked raw on behalf of us, as I wanted to cook it myself.
Not Daphne though. She wanted hers undercooked with the blood at the middle oozing out when she cut it, said celebrities loved to eat it that way.
Are you a celebrity though? All this unoriginality will lead her to the hospital for surgery one day.
Anyways, it's not my problem.
The waiter returned later with already seasoned raw meat in a bowl. The smell of meat on the grill made my body tingle. My favourite thing to eat was meat, all day everyday.
I remembered when one of my aunts wanted to implement her vegetarian lifestyle in our house. Long story short, we were back to normal after three days. And she took her annoying imposition elsewhere.
The sizzling sound of the fats from the meat touching the grill whenever I flipped a piece of meat was music to my ears.
By the time the meat was ready, Daphne's order was brought to the table.
She cut into her meat and as expected, it was bloody inside. Disgusting. She chewed like she was being recorded as some blood dripped from her lips.
And the most annoying part was the fact that she was doing everything in slow motion. This girl. *Sigh* I shook my head and paid attention to my side dishes. I ate seven side dishes and kept cooking more meat.
Paleah kept asking for more as she stuffed her face making me smile. It was nice seeing her eat a lot of food.
"Omg Leah, don't eat so much. We're in the public, and we want to look classy and elegant, not what you look like at the moment", Daphne said audibly with a little chuckle making everyone at the table stop eating.
Paleah turned to her with the coldest expression i had never seen on her face before.
"What did you say?" Paleah asked with utmost seriousness.
"You heard me, you look like some beggar by the road side and like you've never seen this much food before" replied Daphne like it was common knowledge.
There was silence, only the sound on Daphne's utensils touching her plate could be heard.
I looked at my sister. Damn she was angry. I saw her fist tightly shut and vibrating. I personally didn't care about Daphne getting her ass whooped. She runs her mouth a lot for someone without physical strength.
Paleah let a deep breath out that I didn't hear her take in before.
"She's not worth it, she's not worth it. She can never be worth it. Stupid Bitches will always be stupid Bitches" I heard Paleah say making be sigh in relief that she was not going to fight today. And as if my momentary happiness was cut short when she added "and foul-mouthed pigs should shut the fuck up" while looking at Daphne.
"Excuse me? Did you just call me a pig?" Daphne's anger was rising.
"Thank the heavens it was obvious enough. I was worried your dumb ass brain couldn't understand anything smart people say", Paleah said as if it was basic knowledge that Daphne was dumb.
Kai looked at me with a worried look, but I waved my hand signalling him to let them be.
"How dare you. Apologise to me right this instant" Daphne said, her entitled nature coming through.
"No. The truth is a bitter pill, swallow it." Paleah replied.
"I will...I-I-I will make you regret ever-" Daphne started vibrating.
"Oh please bitch, find someone your threats actually work on" was paleah's response afterwhich she focused on her food, ignoring Daphne's presence.
Daphne picked up her purse and hit Paleah's head with it. Making my heart thunder in my chest. If anything happened to my sister, Daphne wouldn't be leaving this building in one piece. Kai felt the change in the air as my expression went from nonchalant to ready-to-kill.
Paleah stayed in place, turned to the side, grabbed Daphne's hair, yanked it from its roots making her yelp in pain and smacked her so hard that she cried.
Paleah called the waiter to place all the meat in a box to-go. Once the waiter was done and i had paid, I was ready to leave. Thanks to them for the show.
"Oh and watch what you say to me. With this, you successfully made it out of my friend list. Just know that I won't be this nice next time. If you don't want peace, I'll give you violence. The pain you feel is just the beginning if you repeat this again. Have a nice evening." Paleah said and walked away.
Paleah and Daphne have fought each other many times in the past. And it was always because of Daphne's foul and uncontrolled mouth. I guess this fight did the charm and broke the friendship for good this time. Finally!
I checked Paleah's head to see if there any bruises.
I stared at her for a long time.
"What?" She asked.
"Nothing. Fighting with your friend on the first day of seeing her is very unlike you. Normally you'd wait till tomorrow or next to do so" I said.
" I just hate how she runs her mouth all the time. That's all. Thought I'd teach her a lesson" she replied.
"Can we go home now?" She asked.
"No, I have to make sure your friend gets home safe" I replied.
I went back into the steakhouse to check on Daphne, not that I cared, but my mom would nag me if I didn't send her home properly.
She was still crying. I rolled my eyes. Like she didn't know it would happen? Oh please.
"Daphne, let's go" I said as I asked the waiter to take the remnants of her food in a box to-go.
She wiped her face and followed me out once the waiter returned with the box.
"I don't want to go in a taxi." She said wiping her face.
Yeah right, I forgot she was a brat.
We walked to my car and I opened the front door for her. Paleah, in the back seat, was looking outside the window.
It was going to be a long drive.
