On reaching her destination, Tiana walked into the office slowly and surprisingly, no one turned around or payed attention to her. "Is that how irrelevant i am to them? Bastards!" she yelled inwardly.
"Tiana, Mr Richard assigned you some work. You are to be done with it by closing time. So you have a few hours left. Goodluck", said Leilani handing her a huge pile of papers and patting her on the back before walking back to her table.
"What the actual fuck!!!!!! He's punishing me because I told on him? Bitch ass fool!!!" She thought while setting the papers down on her table angrily.
She got started on the work she was given, crying inwardly about how complicated it was.
By the end of work, Tiana was done. She submitted the papers looking like a grim reaper, all dead eyes and Shakey hands.
She eyed Mr Richard's office and gave him a million middle fingers while smashing everything in sight, mentally. She left angrily while stomping her feet.
....
Bentlee packed up her stuff while humming a pop song, something befitting of her attributes. She ignored all the gossip around her about Mr Richard and Mr Jack.
.....a few minutes earlier....
Meghan and her group walked up to Bentlee and tapped her shoulder.
"Hm?" Was Bentlee's response.
"Well do you know what the manager told Mr Richard? He told him tha-"
"La la la la la" she covered her ears with her palms and began saying in a determined manner. "Meghan, please mind your business. Your constant chatter and gossip will put us all I'm trouble. And no, I don't want to know" continued Bentlee.
The look Meghan gave her would probably make someone else shudder, but not Bentlee.
"Whatever bitch", was Meghan's response.
And as there was nothing untrue or wrong in what Bentlee said, Meghan and co walked to the desk beside hers and began their useless chatter while folding their arms.
Bentlee rolled her eyes and began packing her stuff.
.....
Bentlee yawned as she exited Del Loona Experience showing her evident tiredness. It was a Friday, so she was going to sleep in, wake up then sleep some more.
Before moving to the bus stop, she decided to buy some food items that she would use for dinner and/or breakfast tomorrow.
She stopped by a Mini mall and bought some eggs, bread, meat, carrots, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, celery, lettuce, peppers, and peas.
"Lord have mercy", she murmured as she walked with a shopping basket to pick the final item on her mental grocery list.
"Give it to me", a lady said firmly to the man standing beside an empty shelf of dried pepper flakes, him being in possession of the last one.
Bentlee walked beside them and began searching for thyme and curry, things she didn't plan to buy, but realised she needed.
"No" came the man's reply.
The lady looked like she was ready to burn the store to the ground.
"I said hand me the fucking bottle right this instant!", she roared, ready to pounce on him.
"No" was all he said, obviously not intimidated by her display.
"Bastard!" She charged forward and grabbed his hair pulling it from its roots.
He shouted and held her wrists tightly, in an attempt to weaken her hold on him. She screamed in pain and he shoved her towards the shelf but she didn't let go.
Bentlee moved out of the way swiftly and went to the end of the aisle, in search of the thyme and curry.
" Excuse me", she began with a security guard on the other aisle, "there are two people fighting and obstructing my path."
The guard hurriedly ran and tried to separate the two fighters, when the woman bit the security guard's hand till it bled.
The bitch was a motherfucking beast. And for what? A bottle of dried pepper.
Bentlee was alarmed when she saw blood, so she told more guards about the situation.
And finally, they were able to stop the fight. Phew.
The woman was asked to leave the premises as she was the one who initiated the fight. She vehemently refused claiming that she would not leave until she gets the bottle of dried pepper she came for.
The man she fought them for abandoned the dried pepper flakes as he was very angry about the whole situation, threatening to sue the store.
Bentlee stared at the woman for a while before placing the thyme and curry in her basket and paying at the counter.
She would never understand the reason some people were as crazy as they displayed themselves to be. This town. People were all colours of bat-shit crazy around here. *Sigh*
The security guards were trying to pacify and throw the woman out when she left. Backing away and minding her business was what she wanted to do.
On the way home, it began to drizzle making Bentlee smile widely. "Perfect weather for dozing off", she murmured.
She walked to her apartment and spent no time opening the doors.
She placed all she bought on the counter and decided to shower before thinking of food.
The water was warm. Every muscle in her body relaxed with the water touching her skin. She stood there letting the water pour on her until she was fully satisfied. She reached out for her body wash, but remembered it was finished and the others she bought were in the store room near the living room.
Bentlee's POV
The fucking body wash was empty. This shower was way too satisfying to leave. I walked out frowning as I searched for a towel, there was none. They were in the laundry room, washed, dried and folded. Ugh!
After coming out of my satisfying shower, I had to walk butt-naked to the store room, where the air was chilly, for body wash without a towel at hand. Wow how amazing.
I walked to the store room first and took the body wash before going to the laundry room to take ALL my towels. I was too lazy to even wrap one around me. *Sigh*
*Knock knock*
My heart jumped out of my ribcage, and i screamed while throwing the body wash and basket of towels on the floor.
I placed my hands on my chest. Was that my imagination? What kind of stupidly realistic imagination was that. I thought i was going to be robbed, whilst being naked.
Plus it was raining moderately, maybe I misheard.
I picked up the things I threw and walked back to the bathroom to complete my shower.
The body wash glided smoothly over my skin in the most pampering motion ever. I scrubbed all over for the sweat and dust of the day.
The water from the shower was warm but slightly towards the hot side. It poured endlessly and i didn't want it to stop.
As i enjoyed my shower, my stomach grumbled and I remembered that I was supposed to take care of all parts of me, equally.
I turned off the shower and walked out, taking a towel and wrapping it around my body.
I dried my skin and applied some nourishing body lotion liberally. I dressed in sweat pants and a matching hoodie, tied my hair in a loose bun, wore the cutest cat-themed socks and the most comfy slippers.
I approached the kitchen counter, picking up the grocery bag and heading towards the fridge to place the items that needed to be preserved in there. And i placed the bottled of ingredients in the shelf.
Taking a pan from a cupboard, I turned on the stove and placed it a top, making my dinner.
The mashed potatoes and tomato sauce turned out really good, better than expected.
I enjoyed eating while it rained outside, it distracted me from the sound of my chewing, the utensils touching the plate and how quiet the apartment was.
I cleared my plate in no time, washed the dirty dishes, cleaned up and prepared for bed.
I dozed off almost immediately after covering myself with the thick duvet, sleeping with the "pit Pat" sound of the rain hitting the windows.
