Onyx couldn't understand why Avian was staring at her like that but when she felt the slight painful cramp below her abdomen, she looked at the faint trickle of blood down her thighs and she understood why and her face suddenly flushed in embarrassment. Avian would have gone for multiple rounds but after realizing that she was a virgin, he composed himself immediately and his raging monster cooled down immediately.
"You should have told me, I would have hurt you if I hadn't controlled myself." Avian said as he took a towel and wrapped it round her chest, covering her nakedness as his face returned to the stoic expression he held and not the pleasure filled face he had five minutes ago. She couldn't help but feel a shy smile coming on her face.
"But you didn't." She said with a small voice but he didn't reply anymore as he walked out of the bathroom naked but he didn't care. Avian still remained cold and she wondered if he was really all about the pleasure and not the bond, then she would be really heartbroken. She didn't just want him for the pleasure but she had also wanted a family of her own peacefully but even her small dreams were being almost out of reach and impossible to get and Avian wasn't helping out the situation in any way.
"Avian, what can I help you with?" Laverna asked with her temptingly seductive voice as Avian approached her. She was in a red flowing robe as she laid on her throne bed lazily.
"I have a request to make." He said with a hard tone. He couldn't let himself get distracted the way Onyx had just made him forget about everything like nothing mattered but her. And it was a dangerous feeling, too dangerous.
"Every request comes with a price. The soul." She drawled with a malicious intent on her voice even though there was none.
"I know." He answered with a stern voice.
"So...Speak up." She ordered as she slowly sat up from the throne bed with her robe sweeping down the floor as she moved.
"I want to get rid of the mating bond." He said immediately. His voice was sure and clear. Laverna's red eyes narrowed at him as she adjusted her self on the throne bed. A sardonic smirk danced on her face.
"May I ask why?" She said as she twirled her hair playfully in her long red nail polished fingers.
"It's not necessary for you to know the reason why." Avian said coldly and her face twisted in anger.
"You should watch your tune Avian! You're before the goddess of infinity and creation!" Her voice was calm but the anger in it could be heard.
"It's just business like you said so there's no need for you to go into the personal details." Avian said more calmly, he couldn't risk offending her and blowing up the whole plan of bringing her to the palace to help defeat the monsters that were created from her powers.
"I won't ask then." She said as she scoffed while she took a golden cup of wine in her hands and twirled the contents in it.
"So do you know how to do it?" Avian asked obviously impatient on hearing her reply.
"Of course not!" She exclaimed as she laughed hysterically at the thought that she could get rid of the mating bond. Avian heaved heavily, he wasn't disappointed because he knew it was impossible to tamper with the mating bond but he still decided to see if she could do something about it but since she couldn't, he'd just forget about it.
"I have another request." He said and her eyes glinted mischievously.
......
"Can't I at least visit my family?" Larisa asked Lothaire as she sat on the bed with legs crossed and the saddest look on her face but Lothaire could not be fooled by her horrible acting but he let her act some more since it was cute.
"No! You should get used staying without them." Lothaire said straight faced as he lit up a cigarette as he stood near the open window because he knew Larisa hated the smell of nicotine even though she didn't say anything. She pouted her lips and aggressively dragged the hem of her sleeves.
"But I already agreed to stay, it's not fair." She argued.
"Nothing's fair Larisa." He said. She realized that he barely called her by her name but when he did, she could feel something different from him.
"I miss them and I just want to say goodbye since I'm staying here forever and there's no way I could possibly run away from you." She pleaded with a small voice.
"Did you really wanted to leave and never come back?" Lothaire asked with a blank expression. Larisa's eyes fluttered. Honestly, she hadn't even wanted to leave but she was just bewildered by the whole fact of putting everyone in danger but now that she thought about it with a cool head, she was too selfish to leave Lothaire.
"No." She replied with a faint voice. Lothaire didn't say anymore and continued smoking for a while. They both stayed for a while in awkward silence and slight tension slowly grew in the air.
"I don't like Felix, so I don't want to see you with him or any man in general." Lothaire said strongly as he broke the silence.
"He's not a bad person." Larisa defended and she could see Lothaire's golden eyes burning with fury and she wondered why he was that angry when he talked about him. She also noticed how angry he was when he saw her talking to Felix in the garden and wondered if they were long time rivals or there was just something else.
"What makes you think that?" Lothaire asked between clenched teeth in anger as his eyes burned into hers.
"His aura is peaceful. If he was a bad person his aura would have gave him away." She said with a small voice. Lothaire scoffed as he took a puff of smoke in.
"Unlike mine that speaks of evil and darkness right?" He asked rhetorically as he smirked sarcastically.
"I didn't say that!" She said with a louder voice than usual.
"You didn't have to." He said firmly and she realized that he was right, he was from darkness itself and there was nothing she could do or say to change that.
"You're right but it doesn't mean I hate you." Larisa said.
"Felix is an Angel." He said flatly and Larisa's mouth fell slightly apart. No wonder she felt a calm and serene energy surging from him.
"Really? But how is he Darius's cousin then?" She asked in disbelief and curiosity.
"Half Vampire." Lothaire said obviously uninterested in talking about Felix so she stopped talking about him because of Lothaire's grumpy look.
"You don't have to be jealous, I can't be with anyone else but you." She said but his expression didn't change and she wondered if Felix angered him that much. "Why don't you like him?" She asked.
"Because you do." He said with a hard tone.
"I liked him because he was nice to me and I also like Zion and Onyx too." She said with her voice raising as she quickly set things straight. She hadn't realized how possessive Lothaire was until then.
"I know.. But I just never liked him, it must be the natural hate between Angels and Demons." Lothaire said with a soft chuckle and Larisa was glad that he didn't misunderstand. Larisa immediately remembered what she had said to him at the dining room that morning and figured she should apologise for what she said to him even though he said hurtful things that he didn't apologise for.
"I'm sorry.." Larisa said and Lothaire averted his gaze to her, wondering what she was apologising for as he looked at her with raised brows in question. "I'm sorry for what I said at the dining room today. I didn't mean that, I was just mad but it's definitely not an excuse and I just thought that it'd be right to apologise." Larisa blurted out in a guilt and apologetic filled face.
"You're too innocent for your own good." Lothaire said and it was definitely a reply that she wasn't expecting as she fluttered her eyelashes.
"What?"
"Why on earth would you apologise to the devil's son after everything I said to you, knowing fully well it'd hurt you?" He asked rhetorically as he chuckled softly. "Felix is right. I lie without a heart yet you don't label me heartless. So I wonder, is it the mating bond or is it your naivety?"
