Chapter 14 - CHAPTER 15

"Is something going on?" Larisa asked as they sat in the beautiful garden, Larisa had wanted a bit of fresh air, so they came out immediately they were done with breakfast.

"Its nothing to worry about." Lothaire said but she was still curious about it, the discussion was quite tense especially when she had heard mention of a goddess.

"What about the goddess, I'd like to know more but if you don't tell me I'll just ask Zion instead." She said pouting her lips, lips he wanted to kiss and he immediately looked away, after last night, he made up his mind to keep His resolve strong and at least his hands from her until he could control his animalistic desires.

"Well.. Its a really long story and I doubt you'd understand, besides you shouldn't worry yourself about these things." He said unwilling to tell her about it because that would result to him telling her he wiped away the gods from the face of the earth and he was worried that she'd look at him like a monster again.

"I personally love stories." She said adamant to give up.

"I'm sorry, I have something to do, Zion will accompany you." He said and before she could say a word he dashed out, she felt that something was amiss, she even saw a drop of sweat garnish his forehead.

"Hey! Larisa." She heard Zion's cheerful voice as he walked up to her, his silver hair dancing in the wind, she wondered how he got his physical features that were so ethereally beautiful even as he was a half human.

"Can you explain to me what..." She had barely finished her statements when he cut her short.

"Lothaire warned me not to say anything to you or he'd cut off my arm." He said with a wide grin on his face and she wondered why he smiled a lot.

.....

Avian was furious but still, he didn't let his emotions get the better of him since he had to be clear headed. He immediately knew that Lothaire had figured out Onyx was his mate and paired them up for the journey, but for what reason?

Him mating wouldn't benefit Lothaire in anyway so he guessed that he must have been trying to punish him for threatening his mate, he wasn't surprised that Lothaire knew he was avoiding her because he didn't want to share the mating bond with her. He knew Lothaire was reckless and arrogant in his ways but he was one smart bastard.

But the reason for his furiousness was the fact that he wanted to release Hela, the goddess of death and sister to Laverna, they weren't biologically sisters but their kinds considered their selves as one regardless of their blood.

Hela was the strongest goddess and also the most fearful, she was immortal and since Lothaire couldn't kill her, he decided to trap her in an eternal abyss he had created after separating her heart from her body because her heart was her greatest strength and weakness.

With her heart, she could easily escape from the abyss but without it, she had been trapped for almost a millennium and Lothaire was the only one that could release her from the abyss.

He would have trapped Laverna as well but been that she was the goddess of infinity, it made her have the ability to travel through time and space, so she could easily escape from the abyss.

Avian knew how dangerous and crazy Hela was, if she came out of the abyss it would be chaos for them all and the war would be brutal but something stopped him in his thoughts, without her heart Lothaire could easily trap her back into the abyss but what if his real reason to release Hela from the abyss was to give Larisa immortality in return for her heart.

Many possibilities ran through his head but he wasn't quite sure of his theory or whether Hela, the goddess of death could give a human the gift of immortality, but if she could and Lothaire made a deal with her, the war would be hectic .

Even his theory was chaos for him, he knew things would only worsen on the way and his resolve got harder.

Onyx was smiling inwardly in herself, in the middle of the whole commotion, at least she would be alone with Avian, she gained even the tiniest hope that maybe he would change his way towards her.

She could at least hope for things to get better, in the middle of all this problems he would be entirely focused on solving it as quickly as possible, at least if everything was solved then maybe, just maybe he wouldn't be able to ignore her or the mating bond anymore.

.....

Adina was in a state of furiousness, her green eyes were burning with anger.

"He's crazy! A total nut job!" Her voice was loud and Darius pinched between his brows. "Why would he release havoc himself, she's death in human form." She argued as she tried to think about reasons why he would even entertain the thoughts of releasing her.

"Maybe he thinks she could give Larisa immortality...I'm not sure though, just a thought." Darius said and her eyes flew open in utter shock.

"If that's true then he'll do whatever it takes to give Larisa immortality, even giving her heart back." She said with a horrific look on her face.

"No matter what, don't do anything rash, we should devise a good plan as soon as possible." He said firmly and she nodded in affirmation.

"I'll let the others in on our thoughts." She said but he didn't reply as he lit a cigarette.

....

Avian went to the liquor room to take a drink when he saw Lothaire not looking too well.

"Hungry?" He asked as if he knew by just looking at him.

"Everyone's blood tastes like shit!" He growled as sweat dripped on his forehead, he was feeling hot, his fangs had elongated and the feeling to drive his fangs into Larisa's neck was too strong for him to hold.

Ever since he tasted Larisa's blood, he couldn't drink anyone's else's even when he became hungry but he couldn't drink Larisa's blood again when he still couldn't control himself to prevent hurting her or worse.

"Its either you drink a shitty blood or go berserk and end up killing your mate from hunger." Avian said with a hard, expressionless face and Lothaire wanted nothing more than to rip his tongue off but he was right.

Lothaire breathed heavily, he was losing control rapidly as seconds flew, his eyes had turned into a mixture of reddish gold hue.

"Bring me a maid!" He commanded and Avian walked mechanically towards the door, leaving him in the room.

Few seconds later, Avian came in with a maid grabbing her by the arm, he gave her a slight push at Lothaire, she gave out a yelp as she slumped on the floor in front of Lothaire, she looked up and saw Lothaire's terrifying gaze at her and she instinctively moved back in fear as if she had seen the devil himself just by looking at his eyes.

Lothaire stood up as he grabbed the maid by the neck with his large hand and tilted her head to the side, to give him better access to her blood and immediately dug his fangs into her neck painfully and she let out a faint cry of pain.

The devil's son that she had drooled over because of his ethereal beauty now became an evil monster in her eyes as she dangled her legs in the air as she felt him drawing out her blood very quickly, fear pricked every pore in her skin and tears rolled down her cheeks as she started losing consciousness.

Lothaire sucked every ounce of her blood like a hungry beast till there wasn't a single drop left, she became stiff and her body turned pale as he dropped her on the floor making a soft thud.

Avian stood watching with his cold, dead expression till the girl's lifeless body hit the ground. Lothaire wiped the blood from his mouth as he looked at the dead girl, not a feeling of remorse on his face.

"Dispose her body." He ordered and Avian effortlessly put the girl in a body bag he had brought with him as if he already knew what would happen.

"Make sure Larisa doesn't sees you." He warned firmly before Avian disappeared with the body. Even though he already had his fill, her blood still tasted like shit in his mouth compared to Larisa's and he washed it off with an alcoholic drink.

Avian had disposed the body and exited to his room, he sat on a chair and closed his eyes for a while, he liked the silence, away from the head splitting noises and troubles but he would open his eyes to reality soon and for a moment, he wished he was dead.

His thoughts were disturbed by a knock on the door and he used telekinesis, his demon powers to open the door without leaving his chair. It was Onyx.

"Avian.." Her words were interrupted.

"Don't! Stop forcing it, you look pathetic." His words were cold and hard, it rang in her ears. She knew he didn't mean that but with his expression, she couldn't help but feel hurt as she turned around and left his room in utter silence. Avian watched her saddened blue eyes as she turned around and refrained from looking at her retreating back.
