The air grew tense as they all waited for Avian to speak but he didn't.
Avian didn't think the discussion was important enough for him to converse in just because he was a half demon too. He barely spoke and when he did, it would be relevant.
Lothaire gave a devilish smirk seeing how he got ignored.
"Lets spar, its been a long time and you're the only one who I enjoy sparring with." Avian halted, he liked sparring with the devil's son since he was the strongest being in the universe and it made him learn new skills and tactics.
Avian looked up with a stoic expression at Lothaire and replied blankly
"Sure." His words were short and firm, Lothaire grinned darkly, excitement visible in his eyes.
"Can I spar too with you Lothaire? I've always wanted you to train me but they said vampires are too weak for you." Zion said pouting his lips, 'so they were vampires but if Lothaire didn't spar with vampires, what then is Avian, a demon?' She let her thoughts wander far until a voice brought her back to reality.
"Why would I spar with a clown?" Lothaire's deep voice was full of mockery but Zion didn't feel bad, he just laughed it off.
"That's enough please. He's just a kid." Onyx said knowing the reason why Zion was been attacked by Lothaire, because he was a half human and he wasn't as strong as the other pure breeds even though his father was a pure bred.
She didn't want to see him hurt because she had personally taken care of him when he was brought into the Emperial after his father had retired.
"We'll get on with the spar after my Angel's had her breakfast." Larisa almost choked in embarrassment as Lothaire spoke shamelessly making Adina roll her eyes as he completely ignored the red haired who was simply pathetic in his eyes for a full pure bred because of her soft hearted nature.
"You don't have to be jealous Adina, I know about your little crush for me but I'm sure you'll find someone who loves you for your shitty mood." Lothaire mocked with an even more mockingly evil grin on his face making Adina's face twist more in disgust.
Zion almost choked on his food, Onyx's eyes widened a bit but Avian still had his stoic expression, Lothaire's arrogance never surprised him.
"Exchange of words is merely a waste of time with you, so I won't even bother." Adina retorted as she stood up to leave.
"But you still made an exchange anyways." Lothaire said with his lips turned up in a smirk. Larisa could see the woman's angry face as she stormed out of the dining.
"I'll calm her down." Onyx said and immediately went after her in a hurry, her loose purple gown flowing behind her till it disappeared.
"Well that was intense." Zion said as he laughed it off clearing the intensity in the air for Larisa.
"Ready for the spar?" Lothaire directed his question to Avian after Larisa was done with her meal. Avian got up slowly but gracefully as if he calculated every step of his, his tall built frame made him even more intimidating than before. He nodded in response as they went to the open forest outside the palace, Zion followed as well as Larisa.
"I'm not sure you'll like to see this, its violent and really brutal too." Zion said to Larisa as they watched Avian and Lothaire get ready for the spar.
"What exactly is Avian?" She asked with curious hazel eyes.
"His father is an ancient demon, the strongest set after the Devil and his mother is a pure bred." He explained to Larisa whose eyes widened at the new discovery.
"Oh! So he's as strong as Lothaire?" She said unsure of what she was asking.
"No of course not, he may be an ancient demon with immense power but he's nothing compared to Lothaire, he's on a completely different level...But Avians stronger than the whole pure bred vampires, technically demons are stronger." Zion explained patiently and she was glad.
"So does Empire D consist of only Vampires?" She asked, her curiosity getting the best of her.
"No, there's also humans but they don't know vampires exist among them, the citizens that are vampires are the common ones and not pure breeds, Lothaire conquered a lot of human Empires and made Empire D this great." He said with a grin spread on his face and she wondered if his aura was not as powerful or intimidating because of his bubbly nature or something else.
"You don't look like the rest of them." She said and the grin on his face slowly disappeared making her wonder if she said something wrong.
"Ahh..my mom was a human and my father a pure bred so I'm probably the weakest vampire here...The only reason they made me an Emperial is because its passed on to the descendants of Emperials." He said as he scratched the nape of his neck with a false smile on his lips.
Larisa could see the hurt in his eyes, he might have been bullied growing up for not been like them but she didn't say any more and instead focused on the sparring that had started.
Avian slowly took his coat off, leaving his turtle necked shirt on while Lothaire rolled his sleeves upward. They didn't transform as they sparred, they didn't need to.
Avian stood still as well as Lothaire as if waiting for who to attack first, after few minutes of silence, Avian charged towards him in a blink of an eye but Lothaire wasn't there, it was as if he disappeared and within a second, he was behind him, he took him by his neck and threw him to the opposite direction of Zion and Larisa who stood watching them in amazement.
Avian collided into a tree with so much force it broke into two like a twig that had been snapped. He immediately got up, his expression remained stoic as he was unaffected by the hit but his eyes became darker, this time, Lothaire attacked him and with his elongated fingers that were razor sharp, tried to slash Avian's chest but he dodged it with speed and instead slashed a tree in pieces like it was paper.
Avian attacked him immediately but not a single finger of his touched him and instead Lothaire slashed him in the left side of his stomach effortlessly and blood poured out of the deep large wound, Lothaire gave a sadistic grin as he stepped aside and waited for Avian to heal since the wound was deep and it would take some time to heal.
Avian was using all his skills and strength on him after he healed, eager to beat him meanwhile Lothaire found it like a child's play and effortlessly fought him, he hadn't even used a quarter of his real strength yet and Avian was already panting.
Zion and Larisa were amazed at the display of power between the two demons even though Avian was losing but he had managed to land a punch which had no effect on Lothaire.
Lothaire saw Avian ready to charge toward him but he was surprised to see him run away in a speed of light but became even more surprised to see him standing behind Larisa with his hand wrapped around her neck.
Larisa felt Avian's strong arms around her neck and she immediately stiffened, heart beating fast in fear that he was going to kill her.
"What are you doing?" Zion asked in shock but Avian ignored him. Avian's black eyes were dangerous and dark but his stoic expression was still visible on his face.
"Don't test me Avian. Get away from her." Lothaire said, his golden eyes were burning dangerously as he looked at Avian's who didn't flinch.
"You're not fast enough to stop me from breaking her neck or slitting her throat or ripping her heart out." Avian's deep voice were full of darkness and Larisa had never felt so scared in her life. Lothaire's jaw clenched furiously, now he wanted to rip Avian's head off but he was right, he could kill her before he could take a step but he could manipulate his mind which was hard to do since he had ancient demon's blood running in his veins.
"If you hurt her I'll make sure you get the slowest and most spectacular death." Lothaire threatened, his aura felt like pure evil evading the air making it blood chilling but Avian didn't flinch or bat an eyelid at his threat.
"There's nothing you can do to save her, you can only kill me once I've taken her life." Avian said darkly and Larisa trembled in fear, she had no doubt that he was really going to kill her, it seemed like he didn't care about his life at all and he feared nothing.
His statement made Lothaire even more furious, his blood boiled and Larisa got even more scared of him than Avian because he completely changed into darkness emanating pure evil from every fibre of his body.
"She's your greatest weakness not your strength, so choose wisely cause if you don't you'll suffer either ways." He said and turned to leave but Lothaire sped towards him without been visible to the naked eye and slashed his throat with his claws.
Avian slumped to the ground, the wound was deep and critical and blood jetted out of it worse than before, Lothaire would have taken his head off but refrained from killing him. 'who gave this bastard the right to threaten his Angel'. He cursed inwardly even though he knew Avian had made a lot of sense.
"Are you ok?" Lothaire asked Larisa wanting to cup her face in his hand but refrained after seeing his blood soaked hands.
He could see the horror on her face as she looked at Avian who was half dead on the floor in a pool of blood while Zion hurriedly carried him into the palace for treatment since his wound would take at least some hours to fully heal.
Lothaire knew she was scared of him because she instinctively took a step back with lips trembling and tears threatening to fall from her eyes, the image of Avian's almost ripped off head couldn't leave her mind, Lothaire in seeing this gave her some space and let Darius watch her instead.
He hadn't meant to show her his demonic side but he lost control because of Avian's threat that made him believe he would really kill her since he was an unpredictable fucker and would do anything to make things right, like Darius but he was more dangerous.
