Chapter 56 - Boss

"There are instructions on how to use the meditation methods all of you have selected within the books, so make sure you read through them and memorise everything, since I will be taking them away by tomorrow night. Of course, for this, you will be given the day off without having to do anything other than learn your techniques. Good luck."

The disciple said as he led the group of 4 to a new room with actually comfortable beds. There were six beds here, but only 4 of them. Naturally, Yu took up the one furthest from the door and sat down on the bottom bunk.

Subconsciously, the other three took up residence in the other two bunk beds, with the two males sleeping in the same one and the female sleeping in a separate one.

Yu ignored them as he looked at the results of the system, then asked if Kai could make it use of the other recorded meditation methods to improve it in any way, and surprisingly the system began working.

Only, it gave an estimated time till completion of 2 days! Now Kai could not have the system fully focused on that in case he needed it, so instead he decided to allow the system to use only 10% of its processing power for this task, increasing the time it would take to 20 days!

Thinking for a while, Kai decided to instead speed up the process by using the mana that the system had stored, and within just 2 seconds, the calculations were complete and a new and improved meditation method was formed.

Yu named it the [Santok Meditation Technique], since it was made using all the various techniques he had found in the Santok Magic Tower.

Closing his eyes, he followed the instructions of the new meditation Technique and began asking himself questions.

"What is mana?"

"What is life?"

"What is reality"

As he constantly asked himself questions and only waited a few seconds to allow his mind to begin to think of the answer before it was interrupted by other questions, his mind was put into a sort of trance of just constantly trying to think of an answer without actually coming up with the answer.

By the time he woke up, a faint bit of light was already shining through the tiny window provided to them, meaning they were no longer below ground at the very least. Yu looked at the sunrise and smiled under his mask before turning his attention to the door, which had opened and 4 plates of food had been delivered.

However, the two male disciples and one female disciple did not eat anything and simply turned their attention to Yu as though waiting for him to steal their things without confronting him so they don't get beaten up like the first male student.

"Go on! I'm not some dictator who will stop others from eating…" Yu paused for a moment before continuing as a smile appeared on his face.

"Also, do introduce yourself. I should at least know the names of my followers! And from now on call me Boss."

A moment of awkward silence later, the male who Yu had beaten up spoke first.

"Boss! I am Denice."

"I'm Ben, Boss, and this is my sister Sarah." The other male disciple said as he pointed at the female disciple.

Denice was a short young man with brown hair and black eyes with a fire burning within them filled with ambition and enthusiasm, as well as a lot of confidence which was just recently squashed by Yu.

Ben on the other hand was a bit taler than Denice, with grey eyes and silver hair, just like his sister Sarah.

The girl in question turned to look at Yu with sparkles in her eyes as though she was looking at both a monster and a superhero.

"Good. Then sit down and eat up. We have a long day ahead of us. Each of us needs to quickly increase our Spiritual Energy by using these meditation techniques to be able to actually produce the spell scrolls when they give it to us."

With that, Yu began eating, the others hesitating only for the briefest of seconds before following along, stuffing their face with food that would normally be considered food for livestock.

After lunch, Yu got back to his [Santok Meditation Method] which put him into a spiralling existential crisis for a while.

While he was slowly increasing his Spiritual Energy; Ben, Sarah and Denice were struggling with all their might to learn the Meditation techniques they had selected completely so as to better be able to perform the techniques after they were taken away.

The next day came as the sun rose once more, conquering the darkness of the night before it. The same disciple came and just as promised, he took away the meditation methods and also did a thorough search of the room to ensure copies were made.

After ensuring everything was safe, he brought the four new disciples to a room on the same floor, only this one had five tables and five chairs, as well as a larger table and chair at its centre. On this larger table was a large stack of old and yellowish paper, as well as a silver liquid in what Yu assumed was an ink bottle.

"Welcome to your workplace for the near future." The disciple said as he settled down on the centre table, motioning for the others to sit down at their respective smaller tables.
