Chapter 3 - First day in school as a freshman.

Luo Kexin arrived in front of the school building, still sitting in the backseat in a daze. Somehow, she still found it hard to believe that she had somehow managed to go back in time and she was now about to face a great challenge in her life. Her father noticed her silence and immediately comforted her while adjusting his glasses. "Xin'er, don't be nervous. It's just your first day, I'm sure things will get easier after today so just focus on adjusting properly and making new friends."

Mr Luo sighed softly after he had said this. He had been ecstatic when he had heard that his dear daughter had gotten a scholarship into one of the most prestigious schools in the city but somehow,he was now feeling apologetic towards his daughter. He was a teenager once and knew that it would surely be hard for his daughter who had lived in the countryside all her life to settle down here so easily. He worried about the haughty children who might look down on his daughter because she was not rich like them so he went out of his way and used some of his savings to buy everything she might need so she wouldn't look out of place and might be able to blend in.

He cleared his throat and said to her. "Kexin, if you find it difficult to study here, just tell me. Father would  do his best to register you into another school next year. Remember not to hold anything back from me or your mother."

Luo Kexin snapped back into reality once she heard her father's voice and smiled reassuringly at his words. She had no plans on leaving the school especially but she didn't say anything to her father and instead opened the door and joined the crowd of students heading towards the building under her father's watchful eyes from afar. Mr Luo waited until she had entered the building without a hitch before he drove away, grabbing the steering wheel tightly.

Once she entered the building, Luo Kexin navigated her way through the place among the confused set of students that stood by the map board trying to figured out where to go. She immediately went to the teacher's room where she did her registration before going to attend the freshman's orientation class in the auditorium. The sight of the large room was something that she had gasped at amazement and awe in the past, drawing attention to herself and showing how uncultured she had been at that time but now, she had managed to get through all the hazing process without a hitch and went to the classroom where she found a specific place to sit.

A few minutes later, she watched other students enter the classroom and noticed something she had never seen in her past life. Each student that entered the class seemed to scan the room and scrutinize one's appearance before choosing their seat and it made her smile to herself. She now understood that was their way of picking friends and forming cliques among their society and the ones who arrived later no longer had a choice but to take any seats available. She mentally noted that two people had yet to arrive so she opened her book to read when she felt a soft hand tap her shoulder cautiously. She turned back to see a young girl with brown ponytails adorned with two green ribbons smiling at her brightly. "Hmm?"

The young girl seemed a little taken aback by her aloof attitude for a moment before she resumed her cheerful nature, her teeth shining even through the braces at Luo Kexin. "Hello, are you new here? I am Mingmei, let's be friends!"

Her bright smile dimmed slowly when she received no response, making her shrink back into her chair with disappointed eyes that now looked down at the floor between them. She hurriedly said. "It-It's okay if you don't want to say anything, I understand. Sorry to disturb you...."

Meanwhile, Luo Kexin tightened her grip in attempt to restrain her chaotic emotions as she looked at the young girl's downbent head. The small girl whom she had accepted as a friend in the past was forced to endure the same bullying she had endured before she couldn't take it anymore, cutting her own hair and transferring to another school. It made her hesitant to accept her friendship again as she wondered if she could now protect her. If all this was truly possible to do in the least, she would try her very nice best. "Okay. Let's be friends."

Mingmei lifted her head in relief with her eyes shining happily at her new found friend. "Really? That's great! I have been looking for a friend to hang out with ever since I entered middle school....."

She continued talking for a few minutes when she noticed that her friend was not listening to her words but was instead staring at someone. She followed her eyes to find the person and her eyes widened a great fraction before she tapped her nervously. "Hey, stop looking at her so blatantly! Lower your head before you get into trouble!"

"Who is she?" Although she already knew who that person was, Luo Kexin said it because that was what she had to ask as a new student who didn't know anyone but her eyes betrayed a killing intent lurking beneath the surface.

Mingmei lowered her voice as she educated her friend properly while casting a side eye at the pretty girl they were looking at wearing a pink skirt and pink hairpin with a lollipop in her mouth. "That's Shi Ruolan! You are new here so you don't know who to avoid and who not to. There are three people here whom you should never offend if you want to graduate from this school in peace and she is one of them. The only thing that really ticks her off is when you interact with her beloved who is....Oh, there he is!"

Their conversation in the class halted when a young boy walked into the class wearing a white T-shirt that hung carelessly yet stylishly on him. The whole class was now in silence as they stared at the handsome boy who stood so confidently in the class, his handsome face sporting a lip ring at the corner of his lip as his black hair roughishly covered half of his face. A single tear fell down Luo Kexin's face as she whispered softly under her breath in a daze. "Tian Kuo."
