Luo Kexin returned to her seat and took her lessons while sensing two stares on her at the same time but she pretended that she was oblivious to her surroundings the whole time. She mused over the fact that the one that possessed such killing intent must surely be coming from the girl whom she had defeated a few minutes ago but the second stare she sensed was one of curiosity. She restrained her curiosity to turn around and find out the person so she didn't dwell on it and instead concentrated on her books.
Immediately the teacher left the class, the whole class was filled with tension with the classmates anxiously waiting for something bad to happen. However, their expectations were eventually disappointed because Shi Ruolan seemed to be absent from class and none of the girls dared to do anything after Tian Kuo had spoken. Luo Kexin decided to revise her books when Mingmei suddenly approached her with an inquisitive countenance. "Luo Kexin, how do you know Tian Kuo? Why did he stand up for you when Ruolan accused you of stealing?"
Luo Kexin restrained her smile when she heard her words and managed to shrug carelessly at her question. She also hadn't expected him to speak up for her but the whole event made her happy inside. "I don't know why but I can see that he is a nice person. Who is he by the way?"
"That boy, Tian Kuo..." Mingmei intentionally lowered her voice when she saw his name as she sat down and drew her seat closer to her friend to explain. "is the second son of the prominent Tian family. I'm sure you must have seen them in the news, their family are very famous both domestically and internationally with his father being a business mogul and his mother is a powerful politician. He is practically an emperor in this school and no one cares to mess with him, no one. "
"Oh, I see." At first, Luo Kexin gave her an indifferent answer as she closed her book but she changed her response when she sensed her friend's confused gaze on her. "He seems like the kind of person I should avoid, don't you think?"
"Of course he is!" Mingmei said enthusiastically but she sobered up when she remembered where she was and continued to warn her seriously. "Everyone avoids him and you should too. If you offend anyone else in this school, there is still hope to repair things as long as he is not involved. But if you dare make him angry, Kexin....no one..." she repeated it twice for her friend's sake. "....no one can save you here except his senior brother!"
Luo Kexin arched an eyebrow when she heard her words and asked. "His senior brother?"
"His senior brother, Tian Qi attends this school too and he is in his final year here. It is said he has always overshadowed Tian Kuo since they were both little and they are not close at all. The both of them rule the school like water and fire, never interfering with each other easily and always keeping a clear distance." Mingmei patiently informed her, not knowing that none of her words were new to the reborn Luo Kexin.
But still she humored her by asking her more questions to reaffirm everything she knew had not changed. Her countenance immediately matched her friend's own, one eager to gossip with someone and the other more eager to hear the gossip she was willing to give. She asked her. "It's my first time schooling in the capital and I have never seen such rich kids like this before. Tell me more about them."
"Well, there is nothing really interesting other than the ones I have you but as for the rest..." Mingmei told her. "We have Fulin who is Tian Kuo's best friend and right hand man in the school. He is not like Tian Kuo and is actually a levelheaded and approachable person. There are rumours behind their friendship like Fulin's loyalty to Tian Kuo is only because he is being sponsored by his family. The next person is Niu Ming, Shi Ruolan's best friend. She comes from an influential family too but her mother is always sucking up to Shi Ruolan's mother since she is very influential in the fashion world. Those four are one of a kind and they are always protect each other's backs no matter what, no one knows why."
"I see." Her last words sent Luo Kexin into a deep thought as her face turned slightly sour. This was one of the unresolved mysteries in her past life that she was curious about the most. She wanted to know why Tian Kuo always protected Shi Ruolan no matter what atrocity she committed and he pretended like nothing ever happened. It made her wonder if he was being threatened by her or if there was something indeed that binded the both of them together.
Mingmei was about to say something more but she noticed the change on her friend's countenance and stopped talking, thinking that she had scared her friend into deep silence so she reassured her. "But all this information is none of our business as long as we mind out business and stay away from them. I think it's time for my science lesson and I need to go to the laboratory right now. See you later."
"Alright." Luo Kexin waved her off before she resumed her reading but as her eyes strayed around the room, she caught Haoyu watching her quietly with a gaze that send chills to her body. He flashed her a smile once their eyes connected but she paid him no mind and returned her attention to her desk, reminding herself that's she would never have returned to this school in a second life if it was not for Tian Kuo because the school was undoubtedly rotten to the core. The girls were haughty and snobs while the boys were degenerates and mean people.
But there are some things that would change in this life, she would get to graduate from this school and least and save his life no matter what. She would make sure that there would be no mistakes and nothing or no one would stand thwart her plans.
