A boy dressed in the same uniform with the same facial resemblance as Tian Kuo stood in the hallway with a faint smile and his hands in his pocket looking at the closed door of the laboratory where the screams could be heard. "I just wanted to check up on you, Little Brother but it seems like I was interrupting your private business. Who is the poor soul this time?"
"None of your business." Tian Kuo gave a faint sneer at his senior brother, hiding his own clenched fists in his pocket as he gave his an indifferent gaze and walked away.
But his brother's words made him pause for a moment, their backs facing one another from a distance as Tian Qi spoke. "Just make sure that this one doesn't stir up waves like the past ones. Mum and I are have been having a hard time cleaning up your mess recently. You know it yourself, there are some things you should do and some things you shouldn't do anymore."
The older brother felt that his words would have no effect on the younger one so he added with a smile as he finally turned around and warned him. "If you cause any disturbance again, you know what will happen."
Tian Kuo's face turned grim as soon as he heard his senior brother's words and he turned with a smile that reflected his brother's own. Their eyes seemed to be in a silent intense battle for moment with both sides unwilling to lose at all and it made Tian Qi a little startled at his brother's obstinate will. Tian Kuo finally broke the gaze and told his brother. "The only thing you should be concerned about is your upcoming graduation, Senior Brother. Don't forget that our parents are counting on you to pass the final exams with flying colors, anything less than that would be betrayal on your part."
He saw Tian Qi's gaze sway for a brief moment, making him believe that he had finally gained the upper hand now and he lingered on the sore spot he had found. He said his final words with a faint mocking smile before he walked away. "But I am sure that you can do that easily, like you always have. Goodluck, Senior Brother."
Tian Qi curled his fists tightly as he watched his brother walk away but he made no move to discharge his anger but closed his eyes and stood there taking deep breaths to cool down. While he worked on regaining his control, one of the boys came out of the laboratory with a whistle on his lips but jerked slightly when he discovered his presence. "Senior Tian Qi, I didn't see you there. What are you doi-"
"Tell the rest of the boys that the party is over. I want that place empty and clean before the next bell for the lessons ring." Tian Qi no longer kept his smile on his face as he walked away with the other person's bow in sight. When he had walked a far distance away, the young boy immediately rushed into the laboratory to deliver the news to the rest of the boys in a haste.
Meanwhile, Luo Kexin stayed in her class pretending not to notice the students' stare or their whispers behind her back as she studied on her desk. Another funny incident that seemed to be happening continuously was the girls' tricks to take her out of class under the excuse of accompanying them to the bathroom to fix her makeup or wash the stain from her uniform that they intentionally created. Still, she refused to misled by them and instead stayed in class at all cost because she knew that all this was a plot of Shi Ruolan's to beat her up in a secluded place and she was not going to fall for it. And it was not that she could not take them on but she knew that her second plan could be to take her scholarship from her and she could not allow that to happen.
"I think you should take some time away from school, Kexin." Mingmei had been on the verge of tears since the incident and had been terrified even though she didn't say anything about it. There was no doubt that she too had angered Shi Ruolan by her connection with Luo Kexin but she still continued to persuade her. "Shi Ruolan will not stop until she completely subdues you. Your days of peace are officially over here!"
Luo Kexin remained unfazed by her words as she flipped the next page. "According to the scholarship contract, it states that I can't be absent from lessons for the first month in the sesssion. There is no way I am going to leave the school."
"But-" Mingmei was about to talk once again just she swallowed her words when she saw that it would have no effect on her once again. She gave her friend one more look of concern before she returned her attention to the phone in her hands, mumbling both to herself and her friend under her breath. "Never mind, I'm sure you can take care of yourself. I don't know why this is happening to me. I finally find a best friend and now this crazy shit happens all of a sudden.....does the heavens have a grudge against me? Why must they...."
Luo Kexin was initially unbothered by her whining but there was something about the words she said sounded so familiar to her like deja vu. She lifted up her head to look at her friend tapping her phone and arched one eyebrow in curiosity. "Who have you been texting for so long now? Is he your boyfriend?"
"Not yet." Mingmei halted her texting for a moment and smiled bashfully as she held her phone to her bosom, using one hand to push the strands of her hair behind her ear in a shy manner. "But I hope we do become something in the future because I am hopelessly in love with him."
Since she still couldn't place her finger on why this moment seemed so familiar to her, Luo Kexin decided to dismiss it but leave her friend with a warning before she returned her attention on her studies. "Just careful, Mingmei. Love is for everyone but we should still choose who we fall in love with."
