After school was officially closed, Luo Kexin grabbed her bag and left the room alone to go to a secluded place behind the classrooms where she sat down, stretching her legs as she brought out a pack of cigarettes and put one in her mouth. She had picked up this bad habit from Tian Kuo in her former life when she accompanied him here to think. She had never really thought that she was the only one he brought here but instead hated him every time he would summon her here just to inhale nicotine. As she inhaled the smoke, she mentally noted that she would be the one to break the habit for the both of them once she meets him personally but for now, she would have to settle for smoking alone in this place.
She kept smoking deep in her thoughts, not noticing the arrival's of someone coming towards her. Tian Kuo had arrived at the place with his school bag when he discovered the presence of another person. His first instinct was to shout at the person in order to drive him away but he restrained himself quickly. If he caused a scene about this place, it wouldn't be long before the rest of his crew and possibly his senior brother found out about it. He picked up his bag and was about to quietly leave when he looked at that scene ahead of him and realized that it was a girl who sat there holding a cigarette as she blew out puffs of smoke. He was amused by the distaste in her eyes every time she looked at the cigarette in her hands. The scene reminded him of his past when he first started smoking and so, he left the scene without a word.
Luo Kexin was about to curl her legs when she heard a faint sound behind her. She quickly snuffed out the cigarette and stood up to survey her surroundings carefully but she didn't see anyone. She brought out a small bottle of perfume and sprayed it on her body to get rid of the stench then she rinsed her mouth with a mouthwash before she returned to classes. She felt a little disappointed that she did not see him here but then she was sure that she could find her way into his life by other options.
She decided to take the bus back home in order not to disturb her father who was probably still at work and couldn't come to pick her up. As she sat inside the bus, she spotted Fulin among the crowd standing and chatting with some of his friends. She scrunched her eyebrows as she wondered why someone like him would need to even ride a bus to go anywhere from his family background. She quickly ducked down and hid her face when she saw him look her way when he wanted to come down the bus. She waited for him to come and walk ahead a few steps before she followed him, wearing her red jacket to hide her uniform. The whole process was easy for her as he didn't even turn back once, not expecting anyone to follow him.
She watched him stop at a tea shop where he finally stopped and turned back before he entered the place. She quickly lowered her head immediately but eventually raised her head when she passed the shop and saw through the glass window who he was meeting with. Her eyes widened with the sight but she didn't want to draw any attention to herself and quickly went home. What she had discovered today had finally confirmed her suspicions regarding some incidents, making her eyes darkened with killing intent. One by one, she would make sure to get back at all her enemies and she would spare no one.
The next day she went to school, she met Mingmei running towards her anxiously in the hallway just on the path to her class. Mingmei didn't look at the obstacles ahead of her and almost tripped but she was steadied by her friend who narrowed her eyes and asked her. "Mingmei, what's the problem? Why are you here instead of being in class?"
Mingmei looked back at the class and swallowed nervously at the sight as if she was reclutant to return there before she faced her friend. "Kexin, I don't think you should come to school today. There are so many strange things going on in there and I think you should avoid-"
"Just get straight to the point." Luo Kexin suspected that Mingmei was trying to stop her from entering the class and the very motion told her that something was indeed wrong that she needed to see. "What's really happening in the class?"
"It's Ruolan. She-" Mingmei stopped talking when she spotted some girls approaching them and immediately hid behind Luo Kexin. She trembled as she gripped her skirt and whispered to her in a desperate tone. "Don't look at them, let's go immediately."
Before Luo Kexin could even refuse, the girls who had been coming towards them reached and blocked her path as the leader of the group, Niu Ming said to the both of them with a menancing smile as she stood with her gang looking down on the two of them. "Hey, are you Luo Kexin?"
Luo Kexin held her gaze at the pale skinny girl with long blonde hair and smiled back. Since Tian Kuo was not around, she saw no need to pretend at all to the girl who had always felt inferior to her best friend and hated her for stealing the guy she liked. "Yes, I am Luo Kexin. Is something wrong?"
Niu Ming was taken aback by her stare and she felt uneasy by the fact that the girl in front of her was not intimidated by her presence. Her smile dropped and her eyes hardened as her instincts told her that this one in front of her would not be an easy person to handle. "Ruolan wants to talk to you. We should go back to class since it's almost time for our lessons."
Mingmei grabbed her friend's elbow when she heard her words and tried to dissuade her from going along with them with a small voice at her back. "Don't go, Kexin. They are not good people at all."
But Luo Kexin was so excited and happy that she could barely stop herself from smiling as she heard the words that she had once heard in her past life. Let the games begin, she told herself as she looked at the girl in the eyes and smiled. "Okay."
