Chapter 4 - Chapter 2: The Twist of Fate Part II

Some will think that Gods do not make mistakes - that they are perfect beings - however, much like the imperfect beings in Veteus, their creators have their own battles to handle. This is the case for the God of Light who, while told to have infinite wisdom, could not find the solution that will stop the God's Realm from succumbing to the darkness held by the Dark Gods. Without the help of the God of Creation, he can only move through the obscurity of knowledge that even he don't holds.

"This is it." The God of Light breathe slightly to calm himself down before entering the cave where the Goddess he is seeking resides.

When he did, he found himself stumbling on traps that would not harm him but will still cause pain into his already immortal body. Thankfully, because of his knowledge, he managed to avoid it all, which impressed the Goddess hiding in the cave.

'I can see why the God of Creation handed him the responsibility to keep the realm well protected while he is away.' The Goddess thought before grinning.

'Let's see how he handles this.' She thought before activating more traps. These traps, however, were bypassed as easily as the past, and then, soon, the God reached her place in a time that made the Goddess whistle.

"Glad I impressed you." The God of Light said, slightly weary, before stating that they really need to talk.

"Of course. If we didn't, you would not have braved into my traps that may have cost you your immortality. So speak, what can I do for you... God of Light?"

"The offer... is the offer to help us still in effect?" The God of Light asked, which made the Goddess grin and answer, "Of course, along with the other conditions".

"... Me and my subordinates wishes to accept the offer." The God of Light said.

"Including my conditions of you marrying me, of the power put specifically on a villain or villainess, and of you not looking at another woman besides me?" The goddess asked, amused, which made the God of Light nod.

"The offer was meant to deter you. Are you accepting my demands because one of your Gods are in danger of dying?" The goddess asked again, which made the God of Light turn silent.

"Alright, I won't ask more. Just like I said, I will help you. Are you ready to meet the soul who will serve as the agent to prevent your people's death and put the Dark Gods' subordinates to place?" The goddess asked, which made the God of Light nod.

"If you would."

"Wonderful, then please meet this young soul imbued by your and your subordinates' abilities... along with my protection - Menu."

The God of Light's brow raised at the name the Goddess gave to the soul he showed to him before sighing.

"Are you trying to hit his majesty's sore spot?"

"But of course! If he did not fail the bet with the God of Mischief, this wouldn't happen in the first place. It is only right that the savior will be named with the ability he gave to his people before he fell into slumber - at least to show that he is atoning to all his mistakes to the God's Realm even in his sleep.

This child, as agreed, will become the conduit of my abilities in the human realm. She shall be taking on the role as a villainess to the followers of the Dark Gods hiding behind the ranks of your people and put a stop to the heroic story they put on themselves.

I can already tell what her human name will be. A name fitting of a heroic villainess, her name would be..."

====================================

"Dee, my child! Where are you?!"

A seven year old girl with red hair and dark green eyes looked at the house where the shout came from, surprised. Responding to the voice, she hurriedly took the pail filled with water to check on the owner of the voice and found her mother looking around the house in panic.

The sight of her made the kid sigh in relief since she, somehow, feared the worst after hearing her mother's shout.

"Mother, are you alright?" Dee asked her mother, her eyes looking at the woman she are speaking to with a worried expression, after putting down a pail filled with water per her mother's request.

The mother did not answer immediately, her hands gripping on the letter she received just a while ago tightly as if she just read something that will put her in misery, before finally saying, "Your sisters are coming back home".

The kid looked at her mother in confusion before asking, "I never knew I had sisters. I thought I was the only child of this family".

'Which is why you never allowed me to tell anyone that I'm a girl in the first place', were the words left unspoken by the kid, yet the mother did not fail to interpret her thoughts.

"They are... your sisters from my first husband", the mother answered.

The kid, knowing the rumors she heard about her mother's first family, unconsciously furrowed her brows before innocently asking, "And that's a good thing, right?", slightly hoping that the rumors of her sisters being enemies of the crown were mere... rumors. Her hopes, however, were dashed when she saw her mother look like she was about to cry due to conflicting emotions.

"The appearance of the bearers of the Mischief's mark in one's home is never a good thing, which is why... before and during their stay in this house, I want you to do everything you can to avoid them", the mother answered.

The child can only nod, the revelations still not sinking deeply in her conscious. And then, she smiled to show her mother that everything will be alright - her boyish looks causing the mother to calm down from her internal fears.

"Avoid them, alright? Don't allow them to get close to you... for your sake and for ours."

With that, the two returned to their normal chores - the child handling the household and the mother with her work. In between, the child managed to take the crumpled letter her mother left in the trash can and read it.

"We shall return at the end of the week - the time our vegeance will be completed."

'What does this even mean? What vengeance?' The kid thought as the Mark of Compassion and Balance under the Goddess of Life and Healing lit up behind her glove.

Though curious, she needs to put the statement behind her mind because she had to meet up with her client offering her a huge amount of money that she plans to use for her father's treatment.

With that, she informed her mother and father that she will be leaving for work before... going to the Adventurer's Guild to see her client with her mask on.
