" This..." To say Cyra was shocked would be an understatement. There were hundreds of mutated wolf's corpses scattered around the tiny valley.
The stench was alomst unbearable. It's been a whole day since the epic confrontation so their bodies had started rotting under the strong sun.
Bijan also looked around feeling the remaining pressure of the previous fight. He could see the disturbed trees littered with bullet holes imagining the brutal fight.
It wasn't that impressive in his eyes, he had experience fighting these mutated wolves but with sufficient numbers he wasn't sure if he would be able to do it alone. With Cyra's agility they might win such scenario but it would be a tough victory.
He couldn't believe Noah along with a rag tag group of kids were able to pull off something like this.
The kids grinned feeling proud. It did elevated their mood a little after practically running away from home. But in such a short time they had grown to like and respect Noah.
He taught them everything with a sincere tone. Sometimes, he was strict but after every session when they were feeling down, he would encourage them to do their best. Julia, Jake and Milo were fine with it but it worked wonders for little Cody's self esteem.
" We have to bury these or either throw them off the cliff so that other monsters don't come running here catching their scent." Noah proclaimed as they navigated the numerous carcasses.
His face was stone cold without a hint of grimace but kids were pinching their noses walking briskly out of the crevice.
Cyra and Bijan asked them a lot of follow up questions. The kids answered them enthusiastically, they explained every event and how it all unfolded. They still had their weapons with them showing the brother and sisters how it all worked.
After what Noah told them, it was first time they saw his weapons had nothing to do with magic. The summoning abilities was something they never even heard of during their travels. But seeing him perform it in front of their eyes really made them, open their eyes to new possibilities.
" This is amazing. I can't wait to see it in action." Cyra was genuinely curious. Bijan only snorted seeing the cursed weapon.
" Stop!" Noah shouted when they reached the cave's entrance. He started to have the same ominous feeling which made his hair stand when he first laid eyes on this place.
" W-what's going on?" Cyra shielded the kids looking around for any threat. She was about to explode when Bijan grabbed her face, putting his index finger to his lips as a sign to stay queit.
She had seen those eyes, his dark eyes plenty of times when they were in danger. She knew she had been too laxed and must have missed something.
" Can't you feel it too?" Bijan whispered with furrowed brows. He didn't remember when he felt such a oppressive force before.
Something was definitely hiding inside the cave, something so dangerous that even made him sweat with worry.
" Everyone ready your weapons. Since it's too dark inside, I will prepare something. Slowly back away without making any noise. We have to regroup and come up with a plan." Noah whispered and began leading everyone out of the cave.
He was walking backward with his gun in hand alert for any jumpscares. Right when they were taking their last step, he definitely saw something.
A large shadow barely visible to the naked eye. It was huge, larger than any monster he had faced before but what gave him the chills were the two red ruby like eyes staring back at him.
It was definitely a wolf, a large mutated wolf probably the boss of this domain. He half expected it to run out and attack. Just from the large shadow he could tell, one bite of it's jaw was enough to tear him in half.
They kept staring at one another, he heard a faint growl probably a sign to warn the intruders but Noah kept rooted at the entrance, looking at his eyes in a trance.
Only when Bijan dragged him into the warm sunlight did he regained his senses. He was out of it for a moment before wondering what happened to him.
" Did you see it?" Bijan shouted when they were further away from the cave.
Noah was silent, not knowing what he felt was real or not.
" Dammit! Did you see it or not?" Bijan slapped him hard trying to wake him up from his stupor.
" What!?" Noah snapped back at him trying to hit him back but Cyra stopped them both with a hard blow to their head.
" Just what the hell are you two doing? Can't you at least behave in front of the kids?" She was breathing fire with her nostrils. Her fiery red hair suited her perfect at the moment.
" I was just saving him! If he had succumbed to that damn mosnter charm it would be over for everyone!" Bijan fought back but immediately sat down when Cyra tactfully hit the back of his knee.
" What monster? What are you talking about?" Cyra was confused. She thought it was one of those male ego thing, that's why they were fighting but it seems like the reason of their fight was different.
" You will not believe me even if I tell you the truth but right as we were exiting that fucking cave. I saw it. I remembered the first time I saw it, it was similar if not more sinister than I remembered." Bijan began shaking his head. Everyone could feel the nervousness in his voice.
It was unlike him to fear anything but at this moment, he was shaking. Yes, the great Bijan was shaking. Cyra knew something was terribly wrong.
She had never seen his brother be scared of anything. What she didn't know that it was the effect of the monster, a unique ability that every boss monster posses.
